It just goes to show what sort of level Lin Dan was playing at, when you see Axelsen struggle to move around the court, you know the opponent is playing extraordinary badminton.. let’s face it, nowadays if Axelsen is not bound to injuries there is barely anyone able to match him. His main attribute is his physical strength, that, no one will take from him, I want to see him do well at the Olympics again, but I also want to see some good names in the medal positions.
Against all odds, I am praying for a Momota resurgence. He was the ONLY one capable of beating Viktor consistently. Yea, there are a few others these days who can beat Viktor now and again, but Kento was the only one Viktor would bet against himself winning.

Not to take anything away from Victor Axelsen, he is humble and hardworking professional, but he is a physically gifted otherwise there is nothing special about him like Lindan, LCW, Kento Momota etc
You do know that his advantage comes with a disadvantage as well? And many other smaller players have managed to beat him before. Not to glaze but he deserves the ranking he is on now, which is 1, considering how many injuries he had. It's all about determination and consistency.

He would probably win a second Olympic gold medal next year in Paris to equal Lin Dan with 2 golds on men single and become one of the goat
