    Yep. The "HDMI" exhaust tip was history within the first week of ownership. I did twin stainless "blued" tips and it looks great. For now, I am just fixing the shortcomings of my 2018 Si. Overall, I am quite pleased with it's capabilities and efficiency!

      That's part of why the Civic Si and the Focus ST are popular. Both are really good performance cars that you can get without braking the bank. Sadly Ford isn't doing the Focus ST now, but both are great cars to have fun in if you don't want to spend 40k on a Type R, STI or RS. Also the Civic and ST have the most mods you can do on them and get over 300hp without dumping tons of money in to them. Ford stopped the ST, so I'm glad Honda is still going strong with the Si. Also, THANK YOU for keeping a manual transmission! Dear god those are becoming way to rare these days.

      I had a 2012 Camaro SS with intake, headers, exhaust, and tune.. almost 500hp. I have a 2020 Civic Si now, it's a bit slower but just as much or more fun, especially more fun on curvy roads where the Camaro was more scary.

    48mpg if I take it EZ......driving aggressive all day and charging up and down a mountain in So Cal I still got 38mpg!!!
    I wish the 18 had a volume knob though....Honda added that in 19.....bastages!
    Love the new 1.5T....no fuel dilution problems in almost 20,000 miles and power rolls on at about 3,000rpm instead of the old Vtec having to rev the crap out of it.
    BTW.....some say the 205hp rating is actually about 215hp or so.
    Still handles GREAT and is quick and the fastest SI EVER!

      Update: A quick search on the web and RUclips reveals that oil dilution is still an issue, which means it's far better to spend some extra cash and getting an 86 or BRZ or base Miata, all which use NA engines and don't suffer from oil dilution.

    • @tww1491
      @tww1491 5 лет назад +1

      I have a 2017 with over 30k miles and have not experienced the problem. But, I live in the south where weather is warmer. Honda has extended the warranty for certain parts on the turbo models though -- 6 years and unlimited mileage.

    • @sdalexander8505
      @sdalexander8505 5 лет назад

      Tinesh Boopathy 33k miles on my 2017 Si and i’ve not seen any alarming amount of gas in my oil. I am on forums where owners mod these cars like crazy and have heard nobody complaining that oil dilution has damaged their engine. A proper break in when new, avoid idling in cold weather too long, and drive the car more than 10 miles once in awhile. It is a non issue. The Honda haters finally hear about something that isn’t perfect on a Honda product and they run with it.

  • @MrSteveH59

    I have a 2018 Si sedan in White Orchid and swapped the interior for red leather... much better! On my first road trip (1150 miles) I averaged 44.3 mpg @ 75/80 mph. The brakes are awesome. I didn't see a whole lot of differences between the 2018 & the 2020 other than more red trim and a different (quicker not faster) final drive ratio. Best $25K on the market IMHO.

      thedarkknight1971, it would be ok if it was done better like in the GTI or even the Veloster Turbo, both of which sound deeper and more natural. This fake sound is too buzzy and droning. Definitely not a good enhancement. In both the Veloster and GTI it can be disabled or minimized with in car settings. Not sure if you can turn it off in the Si. Would definitely suck on a long drive on the highway with all that drone.

    I wasn't going to read through all the comments so if it's already been said, my apologies. But the slit in the plastic to the right of the passenger side fog light is there because federal regulations state that there has to be a place for the sound of the horn to pass through whether it be open like on the Civic Si or a mesh grill of some sort (see Civic Type-R). All the extra safety stuff can be good but I also think it should be optional, let me explain. The more and more safety and also convenience features they add can easily fail and most cost a pretty penny to fix or replace. As long as you focus and are a good driver you should never need any of them. Enjoyed the vid so going to sub.

      Olivier DeVries a good friend of mine had one of the early 2000s Civic Si hatches. That puppy revved so quick I hit the rev limiter quite often. Damn I miss that car.

    electric parking brake does have one redeeming virtue...you can set it to auto-hold on hills when stopped at a light...no need to heel and toe when the light changes (but yeah, would still rather have a manual with a handle)

    I have the 2020 Si Coupe. Great car. Really fun to drive and really fast. Only complaint I have with the car is the rev hang. Thankfully, I think I'll be getting it disabled in the next month. Minus the rev hang, it's an amazing car.

      @@Mrfix-iz4di how is it better?

    • @Mrfix-iz4di
      @Mrfix-iz4di 5 лет назад +2

      Small Town Loner in terms of what these cars are made for, the si is better in every regard. It is lighter, has better handling, has a better manual transmission, is significantly cheaper when new, and is much more reliable, which is a given with Hondas and Volkswagens. Also has much better aftermarket support. For a cheap, fun little sporty car, the si does much better imo. Yes, the Volkswagen gli is marginally faster in a straight line, but that is about its only dynamic advantage, and if you want fast in a straight line, any camaro or mustang or even v6 Camry would beat it in bang for the buck

    Great review. You always make me smile because it is so good to see you enjoying yourself after all the hard work you have put into your cars. I love that you said you can enjoy a car without it being an exotic. It is so true. I love my 04 Accord coupe and my 88 200sx. They are just fun to drive.
