It wouldn't have mattered unless they were in a really tight space with no way to get around like the Spartans. Number advantage and terrain advantage are pretty strong. If it was 100 Imperial soldiers on a bridge they would had won because peasants wouldn't be able to surround them.

I think the important thing to note here is that the peasants are unarmored. So the troops that have the fastest weapon will most likely fare the best. Any tier 5 troops can probably one shot the peasants so the group that can get in the most shots do the best. If it was tier 5 vs tier 5 the line breakers and stuff would of preformed better because they can still 1 or 2 shot units even through heavy armor. Batania did poorly because they themselves have lighter armors which do them no favors while surrounded. I'd like to see this repeated vs like 500 teir 2, or 300 teir 3. See how much going against properly outfitted troops makes a difference.
It would be really nice that Mount & Blade could let you make your own custom units, so it’d be interesting to see how the best armors and weapons could work agains those peaseants.
There actually is this kind of mod. But you need to have your own kingdom first. Then in any keep of any of your cities you can create and edit these troops.

I make 3 blocks of 100, and then backed up by a thick line of fian champions. Basically you send one block in the middle of the enemies lines, the two other blocks are sent to charge on the flanks, and the fians just obliterate everything in between

Seems pretty realistic to me. Most heroic holdouts in history had terrain advantage etc. On an open plain its almost purely a numbers game. Armor is about right judging by the kd ratios
Armor in bannerlord is way less powerful than in warband, i think it should be buffed, a peasant or a looter with a fork shouldn't be able to damage an armored knight

best troops to have are the heavy sturgian spearmen for a shield wall,behind them heroic line breakers to charge,battanian fian champions becz they got the best bow and khans guards horse archers to circle them while the enemies attack you shield wall
i was in love with the bow too, but my last game i played as a vlandian, i picked a lot of crossbows, maan they kill a lot, mix with some battanian archers. And i agree my fav infantry to protect the crossbows archers are sturgian heavy spearman. i mixed some vlandian sargeants cuz im vlandian. Best cav is imperial imo

Do the same, but keep them in a circle formation and shieldwall. They only loose because got surrounded.
