bit of a contradiction stating "no more charging up your little battery pack and running out of juice when taking pictures" then you state "you can use rechargeable AA Batteries" ............? What is the advantage? I see none other than you can buy AA's everywhere..... pointless point..

Had this camera for years and loved it, however now for some reason it is eating battery like crazy. Maybe 10 pictures and a brand new set of batteries are drained completely. Tried to contact Canon, got no resolve.

The issue isn't that it "eats batteries." The issue is the poor contacts at the top of the battery compartment. They don't make good contact, and the camera is quickly "fooled" into thinking that the battery voltage is low. You need to adjust/bend the contacts and rough them up. It's still an issue at times, but the issue is NOT weak batteries. It's the poor contacts between the batteries and the camera.
