Hey Ryan! Great commentary 😊 Two thoughts lol 1) around the 4 minute mark you basically summed up the video well, you said (I’m summarizing) if you’re on Shopify (which I am) throwing up just another t shirt as an ad may be a tough thing to be successful with and it makes sense to explore other product options - which I think is an important point that you picked up on and I am glad that you agree. 2) around the 12 minute mark you said (summarizing) “no one is successful because of their product selection” You then went on to say that “people are successful because they create something so compelling that people leave social media and go to their store” - that’s the part where product selection comes in, right? So in a sense, part of being successful IS based on product selection 😊
I’m so glad you didn’t put him down. I’ve noticed a lot of RUclipsrs making reviews of others and saying they are liars. I think we are all adults and can sift through bs . Always love your positivity and happy attitude. Congrats on you and your better half🙃 getting married
Are you saying all of the points I made were BS? :) I think I made a very valid argument for those running a print on demand store and doing social media marketing. I've seen a lot of this first hand as well, not just with my own stores - but also with others. At this point I've been on zoom over 1,000 times with new store owners, I've seen first hand what works, and what is hard when it comes to selling POD products in the way I mentioned :)
Always remember: make sure you have enough capital should your product take off. You will have to pay it upfront at places like Printify, Printful, etc. THEY get paid, first and foremost.
he has a point tho. while shirts are easier to sell..other stuff can do way better. sometimes selling something else is more profitable than trying to sell 5 different shirts. not gonna drop the shirts I have that already sells but I def use my time on other products now
Joe does a great job at getting right to the point. He's great. He and Ryan are similar in to the point videos. I think it's important to remember, nothing really happens without marketing, either by social media, or organically, or by the platforms like Amazon and Etsy. When I buy on Amazon, it's not just one click. It's a few. If I want the product, I don't care. Joe has a lot of good points we would be smart to consider.
I love this video. I meant to watch Joe's video but got distracted and never got around to it. I appreciate your take on what he says because I know you shouldn't blindly believe what someone says without fact-checking. Your opinion is valuable because you have enough experience to speak on whether the concepts he presents will actually work. If you are considering opening a Shopify store even as just an experiment, I would definitely follow along and watch every video. Go for it!
I have a bunch of pod products on Etsy and want to open a shop on eBay. Do you have any listing tools you like to use that can copy everything over at once?
I can get £12 profit for one type of tshirt - definitely not sleeping on the shirts. Also Lifetime value for metal signs is low. You can only sell one sign to one person unless they move. Shirts can be gifted and sold multiple times.
The hardest part of POD is creating a design someone wants to buy, whether you're selling t-shirts or not. The video I made wasn't about marketing, i've got lots of videos where I show how you can market products for free and how I start ads for $1 per day.

Appreciate you Joe!! And I hear you 100% - also congrats on 100k subs 🙌
I came to know about you few years back when Ryan made first reaction video, I subscribed you that day :)

Ya that's why I'm hesitant to get started this time of year but I've been dragging my feet for too long now....

Cool reaction video. Would be great to see more of these.
Interesting. Thank you for sharing, Ryan!
Kindly done review😊

The metal signs aren't the only product I mentioned 😉 There are hundreds of great products available.
The hardest part in POD is marketing. Love how he didn’t say at all how much you need to spend on advertis

I'd love to sell shoes but when I looked and they all ship from China it is a red flag for me.
