This is the kind of game that Michigan needed. To show them areas to tighten up and get stronger in. Be it offense or defense. I think everyone underestimated Maryland. This is a very very good team. Just what Michigan needed to begin the Big ten season and beyond.

As a Michigan fan, let me just say to all the Maryland fans out there, you guys have something special this year. As for Michigan, I believe that this is just like Rutgers last year, we struggled, but we learned. Here's to a great season for both teams.

I was at the game. As an alumni of MD, I am so proud of MD football. I expect big result this year. What a game... It was so quiet after our touchdown with 45 seconds left, I could hear a pin drop... wow.

Maryland just came out to play this game with a lot of confidence and strength, Maryland is definitely a team to look out for, our defense was not good this game, Also JJ was overthrowing a lot this game. But a win is a win〽️

As a Buckeye fan, I’ll admit last year and this year are very different Michigan teams. But realistically, this probably should have been a 21-28 point win.
Maryland has been a solid program outside of the 2 years before joining the big ten till now.
In the game of football, I can’t fathom having almost 300 yards rushing, and not showing more points on the scoreboard.
Maryland really played well against the pass. The agility I seen Michigans players put on against Hawaii… I know it’s hawaii…. But speed with some talent, and good agility…. That’s dangerous. Something was not clicking today with Michigan.

Maryland play calling was elite. Michigan was just not on the same level and we are lucky to have Blake Corum and Luke Schoonmaker because without them, this game would've been a straight up night terror as opposed to the nightmare it was.
Michigans got speed and enough take t. What I didn’t see was the agility I know they have. I know it was just Hawaii… but damn near every big pass was a highlight reel.
This teams got something. Maybe not a W against Ohio Stare, maybe not even a national championship this year, but anyone looking at Michigan and not seeing the difference from rich rod till now is just plain blind.

I think our issues today weren't due to talent, I think they were due to a lack of preparation and a lack of respect for the opponent. I hope this was a wake up call for them and they use it as a springboard to better performances because yesterday's effort won't win the Big Ten.

Rich Rods fall from grace was of epic proportions. It set the program back for years to come. WVU was always unorthodox when it came to offense and defense.
He’s not the only one. Chuck strong bailing on Louisville, whom he turned into a power house, leaving for Texas I believe…. Maybe it was Kansas. Failed miserably.
Bo Pelini leaving LSU for Nebraska. Nebraska fans got delusional after nearly, and in my opinion, actually beat Texas with Colt McCoy. Their fans were all screaming The Big Ten is weak. We’re taking over immediately. Conference titles and national championships. They haven’t sniffed either.
Now Oregons old coach. Lured away and Miami fans once again saying they are back…..
There are more then this, but easily the three biggest falls from grace I’ve seen in college football when it comes to coaching.

I have my CFB team that I follow but I also like catching up on games that I didn’t see. Michigan needs stronger opponents such as Maryland to tighten up and to fix some deficiencies I noticed during the game. Not bad; but it could be better. Maryland is good; Michigan is better. It is what it is folks.

If being within a touchdown all game with Maryland is a “good test”. I hope they get their shit together for penn state. I love my Terps we had a great game. That fumble at the beginning of the game hurt us also that int wasn’t a int. Michigan did great on the ground running but watch out for my Terps. If Maryland can keep more instate talent we will be a team to compete in the BIG10 more often. Go Terps!
Maryland was amped up and came in looking to knock off a top dog. This may be the best Maryland team I've seen in my lifetime. They are going to surprise a few teams this year.
I think Michigan wasn't as prepared as they should have been though. I think with a healthy offense they should have won by 20+ points today. With that said, Michigan would have lost this game a few years ago.
I think people forget that Taulia Tagovailoa is the QB for Maryland and is a great QB. they had Michigan in the first half just made clumsy mistakes in the second

Offense was 8/10 and got 34 points (basically 27 w/o the Maryland muff)

I LOVE THIS TEAM! I also have MAD Respect for Maryland! They are going to do Great this year! Way better team than ever before! But also they gave Michigan a reality check on what they need to fix and work on, on both sides of the ball Defense and Offence!
JJ needs to learn patience and not be flashy all the time. Trust his team and use his eyes and arm instead of having to use his legs, its gonna take time and he will be so much better!
Also my BOY Blake Corrum! Hes and absolute STUD! HE literally CARRIED this team in this game! but this also showed me he needs a duo and backup, because he wont be able to do this all year long, I know Edwards was out this game, but still we need depth at RB, they need someone else to step up badly. Just like Haskins did when he switched to offence RB during the Notre Dame Game a few years ago.

Lots of work needed. JJ looked uncomfortable all day. They seemed like they took his running option out if the game plan. On the defensive side of the ball, we need lots if work all around. A tight win can be good if we learn from it. GO BLUE.
I thought the secondary played great. But the lbs were awful. Junior colson was out there playing like it’s 2 hand touch.
They might be worried about getting JJ hurt with no great option behind him. When Cade gets healthy, I expect JJ to get the green light. You do not want to play Iowa on the road with Davis Warren under center.
The real test is on the road next week at Kinnick Stadium.. I hate when Michigan goes to Iowa..

Michigan fan here. Maryland is building a great program. Hope to see what they can do to other Big Ten teams. But Michigan, we need one Offensive coordinator, pass plays in the middle and slants. Can't throw deep straight routes in 7-8 man coverage. Corum is God lol. Also Dbs have to actually guard the wrs. But main thing I seen defensive line can't rush worth crap I mean come on, get ur stuff figured out. And coaches need to do better on game strategy.

Ohio state's always the best team in the Big ten I don't care what anyone says they are. Ohio State could have came back from last year's loss but they didn't play well enough and the team up north took advantage of that simple. But this year if Ohio State plays like they can play as good as they are I don't see anybody beating them in the regular season and I don't see them losing they can win a championship this year if they play like they're capable of. Ohio state's got so many offensive weapons it's just sickening. I mean Marvin Harrison Jr alone makes the team better offensively. And they got a great running back. Ohio state's got a great quarterback. Ohio state's got a good offense I mean a good defense. Ryan day even knows what he's doing he's a decent coach but when he has talent it makes it easier. I don't think Ohio state's going to lose against the piss and blue for a long time. Before you know it the last game of the season Ohio state will every year that game flies by. And Ohio State is going to destroy the team up north because the team up north is playing nobody's and barely getting by. Ohio state's destroying a lot of teams this Ohio state had the will to come back against Notre Dame and win and then ever since that win against Notre Dame this year Ohio state's been putting every team behind them big time. This year Ohio state is a juggernaut bottom line
Harbaugh has definitely turned the corner. All last year he loosened up the offensive playbook a bit and allowed some intricate misdirection back there and it looks like this year he wants more. That's how you compete with Ohio State. Remove that predictability on offense and give them something to think about every time the ball is snapped.

Maryland's defense is 🗑. All I see was the Corum who is pretty much your only good player bullying them. I've yet to be impressed by this so-called 'high powered' Michigan offense.

Why did t they run read option or run pass optoin with McCarthy it problem would have benefited the run game and the play action

JJ needs to learn to take better care of the football. He needs to learn when to just throw away the football instead of playing hero and running on his feet, thinking he can gain yardage. Also his deep ball was not accurate today. 3 times he over threw it when he took a shot down field, which could have led to 3 more touchdowns if he would have thrown it accurately.

JJ missed three deep balls or this game would have been over early. Maryland is going to surprise. They were tough in the trenches and in the secondary. Lookout for Minnesota as well.
I laughed my a$$ off when someone said All being out really hurt us in the tight end position and I'm like did you even watch Schoonmaker last year? Especially in the Big10 championship game? This game did show our secondary needed a game like this for pressure and growth but, tons of positives. With the exception of the last touchdown which was trash, giving up 4th and 4ever as well as that God aweful 3 and 21 those where inexcusable other wise never in doubt of the win but we should have hung 10 more points on the board. This was a game this young team needed to grind out and learn about themselves. My take is that this team will get more and more dangerous as each game is played.

Considering the offense they played, I expected them to score about 27. I’m concerned with the offense. JJ made some bad decisions today.

It would have been a tie if not for the kickoff fumble first 3 seconds. UM fans would have had another viewpoint vs "oh a great learning experience"
