- This is a very expensive and common failure on Ferrari 599 GTB/GTO and Ferrari Enzo V12. The v8 models also have these same issues.

Yea, thinking about getting a GT car, either the 599 which has great classic lines (compared to F12 and 812), and also the Aston Martin DBS (manual).
I'm also on the same boat, I have a Bentley CGT Super Sports but I want other exotic besides my Bentley, Aston seems a more affordable option, and very sexy but the 599 is SUPER hot.
I own a Bentley continental GT and a Aston Martin DB7. Next I'm thinking DBS Aston or 599🤔
Wow, thanks for posting. My 2010 599GTB has 66k miles on it, so she's not a garage queen. Next service was planning on doing spark plugs, will bring this issue up with my Ferrari mechanic. Thing that always freaks me out is the fuel pumps going, located right behind your headrest on each side. Such a pain in the ass to get to.
It’s not a big deal to repair, two heads - one day in your own garage. Only the price of parts is not so nice. But 70kkm now and no problem with that acutators, so I think this is a garage queen problem.
I concur with this 100%.
The same problem happened to my 599 gtb which is only 7k miles and I replaced all (The error was only in bank 2, but I changed all 4 of them so that it is guaranteed and there is no workmanship again)solenoid valves, yes it can be a common problem among ferrari and maserati cars and also labor cost is not cheap unfortunately.
Hi how much would it be approx for doing this work ?
Thank you
Very nice job.
That is my achievable Dream car but Manual 6speed Transmission ! I've seen some 2007s for $105.000 in Miami Florida ! but Automatic ! at this point I have a third of that,Got to keep saving ! Great Vid !
gated 599 is going to set you back a lot more than $105,000. Plan for around half a million at this point, with as rare as they are. They made 30 total, 20 in the US and 10 for the rest of the world entirely. One was listed on ebay 3 years ago for $659,000.
@@armedferret Do you mean Manual transmission? Theres like 10 Automatic currently for sale in miami from $107 to $168, 2007 to 2009! $659 unbelievable!
What was the torque spec on the variator solenoids ?
Are these direct injected engines? ARE they prone to carbon coking on the intake valves? Also, is the newer Porsche 911 prone?
No, F599 isn’t DFI
@@corpltd505 what is F599?? I'm asking about the Porsche 911 (992)
@@Sams911 It’s about the f599 engine. Porsche 997.2 and higher engines are dfi
What is the new exhaust system you installed?
Its custom made
Where did you lear. To work on exotics
Hey Kevin, Extensive training and dedication throughout many years. The key is to always train as new models come out to stay up to date.
Thats good ohl ferrari for you good ferrari reliability, glad i sold mine
They are stone axe reliable if used regularly - too many people buy but then don’t drive. Unfortunately during development they don’t have a use case called ‘spend to pretend’ owner who does more miles with the polish machine than driving. Any machine intended to be used that doesn’t get used is asking for trouble.
What was the cost with part and labor?
If you have to ask you can't afford this vehicle lol. That's about 10K worth of work that he is doing.
Just one big question is this car worth it because i saw one with low km for a great price 149 thousand Canadian dollars and am looking to purchase it if this is the only problem im laughing
They are great, and for that price it a lot of car for the money. Long as its been cared for and serviced you should be fine. What a fun car!
@@TopAutomotiveInc I would like to ask a question, is there a condition that if the solenoid valves in the vehicle have malfunctioned, the variators themselves will fail very soon?
