Guess I better say hello first. I am an 81 year old former farmer but left the farm during the land crisis. Went on to serve the Air Force for 26 years, had a great career. Now I watch farming related videos because of my background. Ran across you folks on Facebook and loved your content so got you on the RUclips channel now. More about me later, just wanted to say hello so to speak.
Having had pigs myself years ago, you and dad are master sorters. Wow, you both are great at it. My compliments to both of you.

I assume the buildings and equipment is yours and some company rents your place per say. The pigs and feed belongs to the company. If I have it wrong let me know.

I helped out my dad’s neighbor move 6 pigs 150 yards to a new pen and it took 4 hours…. That many pigs would be a nightmare

Worked on a 3000 head hog farm when younger. Did my fair share of sorting and marking and loading trucks before going to school for the day. Fun times.

I find myself wanting to do like a Nintendo remote on this video. Trying to control your hands holding the board. Could make a game on your cellphone like angry birds. But call it angry pigs lol. 🐷
Just spent the day helping with a 4H/FFA market livestock show. Always a great time with the best kids you can meet, but hogs are still hogs. Groups of 8 max, and that's about all I want to deal with. Since there's kids around, I can't use as colorful metaphors as y'all can, though I am tempted.🤬😯 Great video, and you make it look easy!👍👍

How it works with the keppers what you use for your meat sale , is it an agreement with the company you raise the pigs ?
I got about 640 head the other day. They looked a little rough coming in but they’ve cleaned up pretty good.
A lot of people don't know that if you take your time when moving pigs, the slower you go the better the pigs will move, and once a pig gets by you it will try to do it all the time.

out of the 1500 pigs or whatever you get in as baby pigs, how many die during their stay at your farm? @12:00 there was one pig with a HUGE growth on its side. Does that also cause it to be a cull pig?

Great video. Next time you sort pigs, maybe reach out to fellow youtuber cleetus mcfarland. I bet him and his guys would love to do it. Plus anything with an engine gets him excited, for after sorting content. I'm just a viewer, not part of anything.

Do you guys buy and sell your own hogs or do you have contracts?
Rarely does an actual pig farmer not do contracts (1200s and under don't count)
@@fox4534 You're right, contracts can be signed from the beginning of farming until harvest and transportation to the factory
