We are doing it the same way for over 23years now only difference is we use a lot of water during pumping especially in the summertime , main reason is that the liquid cowmanure is much thicker than hogmanure, what i dont understand is the timing ,i think its better to start like 4 weeks before planting anyways thanks for the video and have a merry xmas to all, including David, greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Just recently found this channel, I really enjoy seeing the hogs and all the aspects of it. I helped raise hogs growing up with my parents in the eighties and early 90's until the market fell out. We farrowed to finish in cement floor converted graineries and pole barns, labor intensive, but enjoyed them. We just run cattle and grain now. I noticed in another video that they were getting shipped out at 300lbs, we always sold at 220 back in the 80's and 90's and got docked if they were heavier. Has the finished weight changed for the packers? Keep up the good work.
Growing up, My dad back in 50s and 60s raised hogs farrow to finish. Market weight was 220 like you said. Docked if above that. Wonder what changed to the above 300 now? This was in northern Ohio.
Used to live on wi ia boarder in pdc wi saw a lot of pig farms in Waukon Decorah ia area and was always amazed by them but being from Wisconsin i ❤my dairy farms 🚜
How often do you need/have to empty the slurry tanks? When you are having the manure "pig poop" spread on the fields how many acres are covered? The piping uses how long is it?
BTW a gas pressure manometer is 20 bucks. It’s easy to use on that combi valve you installed. You can get the proper pressure adjustment done. It matters, to much gas pressure and you will burn the burners out ,targets,Heat exchangers . Too little gas pressure, crappy flame not much heat and possibly carbon monoxide . Be safe ,I did enjoy your Vid .
If you look into a company called Keder Solutions, a curtain system could be designed to divide your barn into temporary zones. Think event tent wall curtains. Not hard to make, but you do need the ability to view and understand youtube instructions. Proper tools for the job, mind your fingers. Last night we had pork steaks, 😋 Thank You for putting the flavor back into pork. -EZ

Yes ppl think farmers are dumb. Farmers are some of the smartest quiet ppl on the planet. Omg do I F*CKING HATE thermal couplers. I heard you loud and clear. Always buy 2 at the least. Glad you had a spare. Stay warm boys. Merry Christmas!
Bonne année et bonjour, je suis Français et j'ai été éleveur de porcs. A la fin de votre vidéo c'est du chauffage au gaz? Vous n'avez plus de paille pour coucher les porcs? Tous mes respects.
Outstanding! My uncle would get poop from pig farmers and we'd use the old tractor pulled spreaders on his 40 acre vegetable plot he'd always say it smelled like money .
No where. We are planning to start separating our manure this next year. We will spread it dry and won’t need the dragline to apply it. livestockwaterandenergy.com/
U guys have a set time where your allowed to apply? David ,you made me spit my bourbon out. No way you'll ever compete with Capitol Hill. WE do our own pumping. But he capital investment was crazy.
This is really inefficient, these guys don't know what they're doing, its a little sad to see experienced farmers do such a bad job, the Democrats and Republicans can do this far more efficiently than these poor saps.
This is one of the simplest pumping videos I've seen, super simple and thorough. Well done
Thanks!
@thislldofarm When you think Hogfarm you don't think neat, tidy with High tech fan controls. That barn is pretty mint 😆
You have a very engaging way of telling stories looking forward to more great content
I love it when you guys are talking shit. Have a great Christmas!
Thanks! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Farmers know their shit
Merry Christmas🎄

Yes. We start marketing at 165 days and the pigs are usually hitting 290 or so. 280-300 is the goal.

I'm jealous, best fertilizer on the planet.

00:18:21 Ever loose parts into to floor slots?😢
Too Many! Usually between the bucket, box or mat and whatever we're working on. Those fine motor skills just let us down sometimes LOL!
Dad always said that was the only money from hogs was the poop 💩 😂
You guys got it down for sure.
Looks cold there though...
Thanks! It was the week we did our barns. Warmed up since… 🤷♂️
You need to promote Barntalk 😊
Oh sure! You can call it manure here and there and when your fancy friends are all around but we all know it’s just DooDoo don’t we.😂
❤ from Norway

Good afternoon sir its pigs time table
What percentage of your ground can you cover with manure?
How will they get rid of the manure next year?
livestockwaterandenergy.com/ We’re planning to separate and apply it dry next year using LWE’s system.
Bonne année et bonjour, je suis Français et j'ai été éleveur de porcs. A la fin de votre vidéo c'est du chauffage au gaz? Vous n'avez plus de paille pour coucher les porcs? Tous mes respects.
I'm am a hog farmer from Montana Farrow to finish just wondering where you get your winner pigs from
We contract finish in SE IA.
i know that line of pumping all to well i do that same thing
Outstanding! My uncle would get poop from pig farmers and we'd use the old tractor pulled spreaders on his 40 acre vegetable plot he'd always say it smelled like money .
bad ass intro
Thanks!
Well, that's a new twist on the term "shooting the shit!". Never in my life did I ever think I'd be watching a video about pig shit
Tork and Sawyer should help put manure next year with their farmer that plant and harvests their crops.
How many acres do u crop farm
400. All corn this coming year
Is David selling out of the Manure business ?
No, tork and sawyer are doing some type of a dry manure treatment / application soon. They’ve spoke about it on their podcast
livestockwaterandenergy.com/
Big Difference Between Just Talking Shit And Actually Pumping Shit..lmao...
Shit happens... Too bad u aren't closer to the city. City folk sure like the aromatic features of pig manure.
Where's Dave going?
No where. We are planning to start separating our manure this next year. We will spread it dry and won’t need the dragline to apply it. livestockwaterandenergy.com/
Why is this’ll do farms not using these manure spreading guys next year?
livestockwaterandenergy.com/ we’re planning to start separating our manure and applying it dry using an LWE system.
city folk complain about the smell
but to the farmer it smells like money
Pipe fitters Union gonna get on that ass
Thank you farmers, with out you we all Die. I couldn’t take the smell,I’m a Puker.
👍👍👍👍👍👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍
is there any wild pigs your way ? i hear they are expanding their territory .
Not near us. Possible far southern IA but we haven't heard of any.
17:19 Can't yall use some of the manure to heat the barns.
It behooves farmers to spend a little time in Washington DC first. One will quickly learn the art of spreading s&!t.
No desire to learn that occupation!
So why do you have to apply extra nitrogen
U guys have a set time where your allowed to apply? David ,you made me spit my bourbon out. No way you'll ever compete with Capitol Hill. WE do our own pumping. But he capital investment was crazy.
Who is going to be putting on this'll do farm pig shit then ?
livestockwaterandenergy.com/
I sprayed hog shit before I can smell it in Alabama. Lol
Why don't you build an anarobic boogas digestor.
Open spraying manure is illegal in my area. Injection only.
Smells like money.
Turn on the p.t.o with one hand and plug your nose with the other!
Shitty working conditions on your farm
Spreading political promises😂
Isn't that the truth.
After watching your video I realized I don't know shit.
😂 the more we learn the more we realize that we don’t know much🤷♂️😂😂😂
😂Good One !!!!
@@thislldofarmhahahah this is so true 😂
Only in Merica could this become "farming" 😂😂😂
Thank you for feeding use. City folks are selfish
That is such a disgusting business
Factory farming. Mountains and lakes of crap.
