    That's what Bob Ross calls a happy accident. It looks so much better with that modification. Great thinking.

    I love watching your tutorials. Not just for the tutorials, but also because your voice is so gentle and the music so calming. And I think the way you dealt with the serging hole is fabulous--the shirt is much nicer with your strip of patterned fabric in it. That was definitely a happy accident.

    Well you were right, this is not a pattern for beginners. Ive been sewing for nearly 50 years and I’ve never seen a sleeve done like this! You did a fantastic job of showing how to put it together and the way you fixed your little accident was brilliant, thanks for leaving that in the video. I love your videos and look forward to each one and I think you once said your husband picks the music(?), so kudos to him for keeping it relaxing and easy on the ears !

    What a great video! Errors happen, you did a great job of an unintentional accent piece, which I think really enhanced the aesthetics. It worked out perfect.

    Thanks so much for this sew along! I had to stop sewing this shirt when it came to the sleeve/bodice connection, my brain could not make sense of it.😵‍💫 I will have to watch this video a few more times, but your way makes much more sense then the one that was provided. Btw, I have and love your patterns☺️

    I was watching a different sew along and that one was so much more complicated. Thank you for always making complicated patterns much more straightforward to follow!!! You are amazing. I am a somewhat advanced beginner and I was so stumped at the sleeve area but your video helped me so much. I also wanted to ask- do you make your own patterns? You have such a great understanding of sewing, your patterns would be amazing. I love how you always make changes to what the pattern typically asks for and you make it even better!!

    Just found your channel & really enjoyed this! I always say sewing garments is often problem solving & creative design solutions! Beautiful fix/design element! I'm working on my 2nd Olya shirt (both linen). I only did one pocket on 1, and skipped them on 2, and ignored the burrito method on #2 that only made it more difficult than it needed to be... Love your dbl gauze dress, too.

    Great tutorial, so helpful to demystify the pattern instructions. I cut through a patterned fabric and I think a plain colour match strip would get it out of my ‘sew sin bin’ and into my wardrobe 😻 thank you Sarah 👏👏

    Hi! I really loved this video and the tips for making a "faster & easier" shirt! In fact, I have a question. In the pink Olya that we see at the end of the video, you say that you sew the bias binding on the sleeves instead of the cuff and looks great! I was wandering if you did make any other adjustment to the sleeve in addition to bias binding? Did you lengthen the sleeves? Did you widen them? Did you sew the pleates as per the pattern? Thank you in advance if you can reply, I am really exited to sew the shirt again with these little changes ☺

    • @SewingTherapy
      @SewingTherapy  2 года назад +1

      I didn’t make any changes! I just skipped the placket part and bias binded! ☺️

    • @mariatinastanco9182
      @mariatinastanco9182 2 года назад

      @@SewingTherapy Thank you so much! I was afraid the sleeves would be too much narrow without the placket to fold them! Thank you again!

    This is a great video. I'm about to make the Olya shirt in a shirting weight pinwale corduroy - I hope it turns out as nicely as yours. 😊
    Did you find that the sleeves (or body) were too long? I noticed you didn't alter the sleeve length but are rolling up the sleeves. I'm 5'1½" tall, and I already decided to take 3" off the body length, and 2" off the sleeves.... but I'm unsure. (For reference, I'm making the size 20, although my measurements match the size 22). Any advice?

    • @SewingTherapy
      @SewingTherapy  Год назад +1

      The length of my Olya sleeves is just right for me, but I just don’t like shirt sleeves with placket and I prefer to roll them up! My personal preference ! ☺️ Hope your Olya turns out beautifully!
