What I observed Jaby is, he is always nitpicking south Indian movies. He wont find any fault in Hindi movies. I consider Thug life is flawless title announcement. The rule of thirds is broken really in good way and it looks so good visually. The visuals, the background music, the choreography and the acting are simply superb. I don't find any fault in that. I saw your recently release Animal trial reaction. You were enjoying didn't find any fault. I can find lots of fault in that movie trailer. Just simple shouting and showing some gun shots wont make it as a good movie trailer. Come on Jaby....

You have to see Indian part1 movie came back in 1996. You have to see Mani Ratnam movies like Nayagan, Dhalapathi, Geetanjali, Roja(debut of ARR as a music director), Bombay. Kamal and Mani Ratnam are working together in Thug Life after Nayagan(1987).
The intro shot is not wrong the director and cinematographer used an important element in photography called symmetrical balance, if you draw a vertical and horizontal line at centre of the frame you'll get equal halves. This element is mostly used to evoke a sense of calmness. Just like the main subject who is very calm and introducing his name while enemies are running towards him. Also it helps the audience to explore the whole landscape and the subject.
During the end of the video the cloth goes back to him and he says "I'm rangaraya sakthivel nayakar, remember the name" The whole shot is reversed which means while shooting kamal sir has to learn the dialogue backwords.

One is going for "commerical vibes" depends on how director wants it and one is going for more of "historic,epic" kinda vibe. If the vibe was similar to Indian 1 then Ani can do more in that genre too, it's very clear how the director wants it, even with the musical video shots u can see it's completely different way how Shankar looking at this film.

Hey Jaby, I can understand all the current movies you watched of Mani Ratnam are not that great story telling, but like to point out to you the reason he is called Legendary director by people and respected is because of his old movies, Nayagan tamil movie which was also starred by Kamala Hassan is one of top 100 movies of all time by Times of New york. If you really want to enjoy his best you have to go back in times, watch Nayagan, Thalapathy, Bombay, these movies are not just visuals, good story driven movies.

Also, south movies are awesome but even hindi movies have been covering serious issues political, religious, everything for about a 100 years now (not exaggerating). It’s not the Hindi film industry’s fault that your knowledge of Hindi films is limited to the last 25 years (even then there have been plenty of great hard hitting hindi films in the last 25 years raising important issues but you can’t see them because you only care about reacting to stuff that you think gets views.. you have zero interest in actually watching serious hindi or Indian movies in general).

For those who don't know... The last dialogue in KH234 video is a "REVERSE VIDEO" but the AUDIO is NOT. So inorder to match the normal audio kamal sir speaks in reverse during the shoot and they reverse it. And just the video and audio fits in like that..no one notices.. also kamal sir not doing this the first time. hope all understood my language..

So many people saying it's shot in reverse but can anyone tell me what's the reason behind shooting that in reverse coz if it's only because of the cloth then they could've done that with wires as well and I'm not criticising their use of it. Just curious what was the reason behind it here.
@@WilliamButtlicker good point 👌 i think there's no specific reason. Just another scene. Kamal did dialogue delivery in reverse for a song previously and Mani likes to include the cloths flying in reverse shots so they might have decided on this.

No way, Shankar doesn't need to copy Bollywood movie. You should watch INDIAN -1 first then only you'll understand the continuation of the INDIAN 2. You need to understand that JAWAN was made with the inspiration of different Tamil movies, especially directed by Shankar. No wonder you got that feeling because Jawan was directed by Atlee who used to be an assistant director to Shankar. So he was highly influenced by Shankar's making style.

The director of Jawan perviously worked as assistant director to Director Shankar. Also jawan is copied/inspired/mashup of many Tamil movies especially that of previous Director Shankar movies. That's why you are feeling the similarity.
Also You need to watch 'Indian' movie released in 90s by Director Shankar, to really understand Indian 2. You will then realise from where Atlee got his inspirations from.
There is this thing called rule of odds .. not everything should obey the third.. the art of framing is creative and multiple... Anything can be done to show what they wanted to do.. That's all it matters
Indian 2 is giving jawan vibes because Indian was the OG vigilante anti establishment movie that came out in the 90s. It was also special since it included indian martial arts also Kamal Hassan had a dual role. The songs by AR Rahman from that movie became very popular. It was probably one of the first pan Indian film. Although the term pan India became popular much later in the 2010s with bahubali but Kamal Hasan tried it in the 90s with films like Hindustani/Indian/Bharateeyudu and Hey Ram. The sequel is releasing almost after 30 years.
