I am a tamilian.. but i hope the next video of Accented cinema covers Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali movies too. About this video It was a very fair analysis. Well done AC. Love from Mumbai.
People forget bengali cinema all the time, the things they do in their mainstream cinema is crazy..the masala movies are the smaller segment there..and I feel you on Malyalam too..I think he tried to understand the languages through a category..if not, Telugu could have been skipped rather. Very few Telugu movies I can respect but I have great respect for Tamil, Malyalam, Bengali movies..these industries are serious thinkers..
@@greetingsman Agree. Somewhere I feel that Malayalam and Bengali movies carry similar vibes. But I think Malayalam movies have a wider range.
@@santoshiyer78 true..very true..
Anti Indian and anti hindu themes are more in malayalam and tamil, bengal cunemas that is why there movies won't succeed as much as telugu and kannada movie they openly show their state cultures fearlessly
@@svvardhan1997 more telugu speaking population, that’s why more collection, ( before pan Indian movies)
I am from Tamilnadu But Malayalam Films Are Next Level 💥
I'm Gujarati.. But disspointed about no mention of Malyalam n Bengali films. Malyalam films are one of the best written films n Bengalis are loaded with artistic expressions. Anyways one has to be in India to understand India. Films or any subject. So many cultures and such a complex Metrix
Well said. Its as if they just started exploring Indian films from Bollywood and Tollywood after the recent RRR craze and earlier Bollywood films.
Marathi cinema is also good, more theater inspired it's good tho
@@lavie7358 Of course being a Mumbaikar... I appreciate Marathi genre as well. Have watched many plays at iconic Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai. Even some resent Gujarati movies have broken old traditions n been path breaking. As I said, For an art lover...too much to handle 😊
@@krunaldesai4438 I feel like Marathi and Bengali cinema is way more connected to theater and it's very cool
@@lavie7358 True that
Again like always.... Even though malyalam movies are few of the best in the country it's always forgotten 😢❤!
Bro, I'm from U.P and I love watching Malayalam movies
Because malyalam movies are not that much dubbed in hindi as like other south movies
its their loss that theya re missing any of indian cinema😂😂we have best stories irrespective of "woods"
Bhojpuri industry is more famous than malyalam industry but always ignored..Truth is Bollywood is too big for all..
True...I love watching Malayalam movies, their stories are so different, creative, and rooted. But I guess its because of the box office figures or the macho man characters that other industries are more popular.
One man against the system isn't originally South Indian cinema but it's based on Amitabh Bachchan's successful filmography. Bollywood in 70s was all about this particular theme only.
It started because of the Emergency in place. Jaby you saw this in Romantics ep1!
First instance when Indian Cinema was recognised was because of movies of directors like Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak ( special mention to Telugu director KV Reddy for introducing unique kind of filmmaking rooted to our culture ) , Later with Amitabh Bachchan's filmography directors took inspirations from western cinema which included that underdog type character which later made Amitabh Bachchan what he is today. Parallely Kannada Cinema was doing the same , but it wasn't acknowledged. Rajinikanth introduced the same to Tamil cinema by remaking Amitabh's films but then directors tried to over do the same , which obviously didn't worked , there came directors like Mani Ratnam and then with each decade we got something new.
Could it be said then, that 70s Bollywood might have been seriously inspired from 40s, 50s socialist themes of Bollywood (and the mood of the country at that time)?
All MGR movies are one man against the system everything he says is political what are you says brother 😂 I love amitabh too but MGR bro he stand against the corrupt government and he won the election in real life too😅 and he is doing that from 50's too.
@@nil_90 70s Bollywood was actually inspired from works of directors like Akira Kurosawa who was also inspiration for 50-60s American cinema.
Once he is invested in Malayalam Movies, His opinion about the South would be changed. Malayalam industry indeed is the best industry when it comes to good quality movies. Btw I'm Tamil
I agree along with the Bengali industry which although is riddled with a lot of nonsense movies these days has a lot of thought provoking movies, movies which can move you...
There are good movies and bad movies in each movie industry.
True💯
Can Tamil people understand Malayalam ??
@@manikkalore1630 i'm malayali and like most malayalis can understand tamil quite well, although i cannot speak much tamil, but we can understand tamil films quite well and i'm pretty sure tamil people understand malayalam to a certain degree too... : )
I don't think he watched any Malayalam films. Even though I am a Tamilian, I like many movies in Malayalam.
Yeah, he should have watched Drishyam, Drishyam 2 and Manichithrathazhu.
Bengali, Marathi movies also good movies.
@@sathishammula7625 Yeah,👍 I agree, good movies are there. But for me, malayalam is one step ahead than any other cinema industry.
Yaa watch the Kerala story 🔥 that is bigger than whole Mallluu Industry 🔥

And they forgot to add an underdog industry in which Bollywood is depending now.. Mollywood (malayalam)
Already depended though through Priyadarshan in 2000s...
Never is the original credited though..
As a malayalai iam overwhelmed with love you guys have for our industries. .

Hey, I've looked for it but couldn't find it. Can you share a link to either the wiki or the IMDB page of the film?
I am surprised they didn't include the Malayalam film industry though😢.....they make world class cinemas nowadays 🎉😅

Ep 3 reaction on Romantics?????
Please just mention about romantic episode 3 .. Is it coming or not
The most hated film industry today is not bollywood , it is tollywood for its succes . It is fact . As a person from AP we were most hated film industry today and it is very sad
That's Jealousy at its peak bro what can we do , but our aim is Global not for these local own ass kissing people..
True! The amount of hate online for the success of Telugu cinema is never like before. It is getting attacked by both Tamil and Bwood netizens. The irony is that Telugu market is said to be the most open market for outsiders India - any film if the content is good it will be a success in Telugu, Surya is so loved in Telugu but it is not the case there with TFI heroes. Kannada and Telugu are mostly like brothers even coming to markets - so kannada ppl are the only ones who don’t continuously bash TFI. All these years Bwood did a monopoly on Indian cinema but nobody said a word but when Telugu cinema is making Indian cinema proud - ppl have problems 🤦♂

Where is The Romantics 3 & 4? It's very irritating to viewers to just put half a reaction up, with no sort of consistency or communication on when the rest will be uploaded

Yeah man! Very disappointing. I was thinking all episodes must have been out and I would binge watch it all together...but nope!! Whether it's a copyright strike or something else... shouldn't it be communicated to the audience when every third comment is asking about it!?!!?

Of course u will.
Because ur brain is empty. Nothing really analytical or rational thinking happens there.

You'd love Patrick (H) Willems video - "I went to India to learn about Bollywood". It's an hour long but really amazing. He did his research well. Maybe you guys can watch it in your free time.
Just like south indian movies focus mostly on injustice in society and action themed movies, other regions have their own specialty too, like you can try watching bengali movies coz you guys liked Kahani 1 and it was completed directed and shot at West bengal and majority of the actors belonged to Bengali Cinema industry and there are even more gems in the East Cinema industry and some have even won international awards like Oscar for the movie Pother Pachali its a very old black and white movie which got india its first oscar which was directed by Satyajit Ray and please explore some more movies in other regions and not just focus on South Indian movies
And just like super deluxe there are many movies like Char, Khaad, Bojhe Na se Bojhena in bengali cinema that takes 4 to 5 stories of different backgrounds and sums it up, there are many such movies personally havnt watched too many of bengali cinema but those i have watched are rlly rlly good. In recent times movies like Bela Shuru and Bela Sheshe are rlly good so try checking them out sometime
Bojhey na sey bojheyna is actually a remake of a Tamil film.
@sayan oh didnt know that but it was portrayed properly on the movie tho
If a sports movie is a historic event, the main games are not shown completely because the real ones are watched by many or even if not, those are available on various platforms to be watched. The reason mainly for them is that they try to show the hardwork, challenges that went behind to get that win. Whereas if a sports movie is just a story of a character or if the theme is to encourage people to know more about it i.e to educate them they show in depth which happened in mary kom, chak de India, and jersey.
Ps- it is what i understand and how i remember.
My Dear Kuttichathan ( transl. My dear little goblin) is a 1984 Indian Malayalam-language fantasy film directed by Jijo Punnoose and produced by his father Navodaya Appachan under Navodaya Studio. It was the first Indian film to be filmed in 3D format.

Amir Khan has done a lot for indian cinema, probably more than anyone else. He's always made an effort to make movies that challenge the traditional, conservative indian mindset, whether it be Dangal, Taare Zameen par, PK, Delhi Belly, Ship of Theseus, 3 idiots, Rang de and so many more.

Every week 2 or 3 movies release in Telugu and Telugu states have more number of theatres than other states. Thats why telugu cinema produce all kind of movies.
Wtf. They didn't mention about Malayalam industry. "DRISHYAM" is remaking in Korean( already remaked in China). Even though no one will understand!

In super deluxe one of the boy wears a shirt with a cat's picture on it. The entire cat can't be seen at any shot, either you can see the cat's face and trunk or its back legs. Ship of Theseus. This is a different video but i just thought of recommending. Just to add another dimension to the analysis
Wowe a perfect video
He forgot to mention how Amitabh bachchan influenced modern day south indian cinema. Tbh Tamil cinema is doing an extremely good job rn.❤
I think you dont know who MGR is. He has been doing films way before Amitabh came to cinema. Thats why MGR was chosen as the CM of TN. You might as well say MGR influenced Amitabh era bollywood.
@@中共戰士萬歲 you are right buddy, kannada Dr Rajkumar, Tamil great mgr, Telugu NTR
Amithabh is a great guy.. but understand he didn't influence anything here.. there were there were giants ruling South cinema when he even entered into acting... And we can definitely say definitely not modern day cinema. Cuz here modern cinema is still ruled by Kamal, Mohanlal, Rajini, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna etc who r all almost same age to Amithabh.. then comes next generation actors nd I don't see any amithabh influence in South cinemas.. maybe little of sharuk a decade ago.. but not much of bigb

Telugu film industry journey around the years is mostly of
Origin to 1970s- Mythological movies
1970-1990 - Social Issues
1990-2000 - Rom-Com, Heroism
2000-2010 - Rom-Com, Mass action
2010 to present - Commercial(both Rom-Com and Action)

Btw their are also many under rated Hindi movies which are not so popular and may be today's generation will find it slow and like art film but they are real gems of Indian Cinemas. Movies like Anand and all are so ahead of time. Also many case study movies which are obviously over dramatised but pure masterclass on story basis. Bollywood is not only DDLJ and Copy movies btw. Also Malayalam movies have great stories and plot.
Hi guys, I've been following your reaction to Indian movies for quite a few years now. Love your work, keep it up. That being said, I'd like to encourage you into watching some Bengali movies too, because anything regarding India, including Indian cinema, is incomplete without a dollop of Bengali-induced intellectual cogitation. Here are some suggestions if you wish to start:
1. Pather Pachali (1955)
2. Rajkahini (2015)
3. Meghe Dhaka Tara
4. Vinci da (2019)
5. Baise Srabon (2011)
6. Kalpurush (2005)
7. Chokher Bali (2003)
8. Hemlock Society (2012)
9. Asur (2020)
10. Memories in March (2010) **my personal favourite ^^**

Where is the reaction to romantics? eagerly waiting
What he talked about was prevalent in the 90's Bollywood... Fighting against establishment, rich against poor, haves vs have nots.... You see the pattern.
Why Telugu industry is producing the most successful movie is not because it fights against "unnecessary" tradition, but au contraire it sticks tu our culture and tradition and that factor works as a super conduit between the film and the audience... And people love it.
Punjabi cinema has always been very slapstick like, at least in my lifetime. Films that are silly funny, not much to think about and can be enjoyed with the whole family. But in recent times the industry is making headway with films like Kali Jotta and Aaja Mexico Challiye.
