- Hi folks, in this weeks video I show how I sewed up my Lapped Pleat Front Dress 💙💙💙 I’ve wanted to make this for such a long time but couldn’t quite work out the pattern 😩 I’m so glad I persevered as I absolutely love how this has turned out. It has the same pleat detail as the inspiration but of course I had to add my own take on the design with the v-neck and pleated sleeves. I will 100% make at least one more of these👌♥️👌 I hope that those of you interested in sewing something similar enjoy and find the video useful. Susanne💕

Marking Pen I usually use - Prym Chalk Pen
Paper I usually use for patterning - standard parcel paper
It's so nice to find an experienced sewist who isn't afraid or disdainful of pins. My thought is the more pins, the merrier.
The dress looks really good on you. Nothing really compares to clothes tailor-made for you. I know nothing about sewing and it was really helpful whenever you explained why you did something

But I would have used cream in the bobbin and black in the top to match the two contrasting colours. Same in the overlocker. I think it would have elevated this dress to haute couture level. Just my opinion.
