Oh man i cant believe that i'll never see The Clash live... I was borned 1990 so i've been missing out on all the great bands :< FOR THE WORKING CLASS :D
@@cardealyogrossmanski8445 Terry was an outstanding drummer in his own right...just stylistically different than Nick, they could've continued on with Terry quite easily. After all, he was their original drummer.
One video I cannot find is a live rendition of I'm So Bored With The USA, in which Strummer actually sings the 1st stanza of the song. This is the very first song Strummer/Jones wrote together. In an interview I saw, he seemed to imply that the record company did not like that song, although he says US audiences adored the song.
Nooooooo it wasn't..... you know they sang IM SOOO BOOR3D WITH YOU!! for a few gigs after this... you're believing the Clash MYTH... go and start again, you know nothing
Owned them withOUT Topper! Yipes! Topper was their BEST! NOBODY could HAMMER with stadium rock like the Top! He had REAL POWER..and DRIVE! You could tell Joe was frustrated! No Topper! No Pop!
It was their biggest concert ever. The tension was palpable. But to say that Mick was drunk? He always sang that way. He was always looped. That entire concert seemed stressed and somewhat sad.
Both Joe Strummer and Mick Jones received a co-writing credit and royalties from the song under its original release. In 2007, when the song was remastered for the band's greatest hits album, the credit for the song was expanded to include Paul Simonon and Topper Headon.
Nor was Joe really, he did a great performance but he was pissed during this show, in one clip he yealls at Terry, and he also says something to Mick after "I'm so bored with the U.S.A" is finished, and you can see Mick doesn't really pay attention to what he does during "Train in Vain", and afterwards he unplugs his guitar and runs off stage, this was Micks last live performance with the Clash as well!
and no that isnt Terry Chimes on drums, its some guy named Pete or Howard somethin,I just wish Topper couldve gotten over his addiction cuz then the Clash wouldve been around longer and wouldve done even bigger and better things
yip .. nice one dude... joe changed the whole song... its clearly about the americanisation of the UK ... :) which is very true today or even more so than then now :(
It was. I think the tension is only really visible in a few songs, like when Mick starts playing right in the middle of one of Joe´s rants, but overall it was a great performance if you ask me. Might just be me, but Paul keeps looking like he´s about to shit himself except on a few occasions such as during the bridges in Bored with the USA. Steady performance by Pete Howard on drums though. Amazing performance of Somebody Got Murdered as well during this concert. Best one IMO.
it wasn't a fuck up. they had no choice. they paid to send topper to rehab three times, he was an out of control heroin addict and they cared about him and wanted him to get better so they had to send him off.
@PBANDSNOW I agree with that, when he was at his best, but having been in a band with a drummer addicted to heroin, a drummer on drugs is useless and demoralising to all in the band. As a side-bar, the drummer in this isn't Terry - I think his name is pete howard - the bloke who played in the final lineup of the Clash - the 5 piece version. I think he's doing a pretty good job, putting a few nice bits in rather than slavishly copying what Topper did. Awesome band in so many ways.
But , that's not Terry Chimes/Tory Crimes. Above , it says Pete Howard....He did'nt last long. But , this was a pretty aggressive performance (At The US Festival.) , contrary to what I heard......The band went on VERY late (Not their doing) , and Strummer got pissed off at teh lack of enthusiasm , turning it into the music. Most of you have heard the Van Halen controversy ha ha.
I have the impression that the drummer was pretty good, more agressive, making the songs more dynamic, but everybody says it's shit, I'm no musician though
Lost my specs and cane. You're right I was there and saw Joe twice and every time I was trashed. I have no reason to protect Mick's reputation. It's all rock and roll. Enjoy!
This is a real punk band and with amazing talented members , long live the clash city rockers
Singing a song about America capitalism and american TV, few miles away from Hollywood, this is punk rock
This is the clash at their fckn WORST
I like the drummer's expressions (and play for sure...)
Oh man i cant believe that i'll never see The Clash live... I was borned 1990 so i've been missing out on all the great bands :< FOR THE WORKING CLASS :D
looks like the US Festival at Glen Helen in San Bernardino, CA back in the 80's. I was there! Amazing show
Both US Festivals were incredible with so many highlights. The Clash were Amazing!
i miss the good old music.
Train in Vain is one of my favourite clash song too
1983 …..the end of The Clash :'(
Nope it was just the start! they have grown stronger ever since I was lucky enough to see the clash many times @ 12 years old man it was great
H
1982. no topper = no clash.
@@perkydog4294 yep

@@andylowe1517Simmer down, turbo. Maybe take a writing class and pay attention this time. In the meantime, stop writing comments.
mick always was my favourite clash guy
One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands of all time!
Owned them withOUT Topper! Yipes! Topper was their BEST! NOBODY could HAMMER with stadium rock like the Top! He had REAL POWER..and DRIVE! You could tell Joe was frustrated! No Topper! No Pop!
+David Miller The Metronome.
Thank you, this has been added to a playlist...
It was their biggest concert ever.
The tension was palpable. But to say that Mick was drunk? He always sang that way.

thank u very much indeed!
i wasn't bored w/ this video. i was laughing a shitload. lol
If only they still had Topper

Muito bom
I'm first listening this kick ass song!!!
It wouldn't surprise me
.....questi erano veramente forti........
I'm So Bored With The U.S.A. Too!! But What can i Do???? !!!! The Clash 4Ever!
When I was 16 the only guitar I wanted was a Fender Telecaster because of Joe and I played it today 19 years later.
Thats how its done kids ! Listen and learn !
Sure I listen to the best.
your right
Totally agree.
Tory's got an interesting style. very Musical beats
I mean Pete Howard here
Ahahahaha - 'no rehearsals'! Good one.

SWEEET! The US Fest ! RIght?
pau-pau-pauu
Topper

Still Relevant
Damn Mick! U were so good looking!
I know right
Pete Howard is on drums not Terry Chimes.
50 bucks says all the members of cake like the clash
😍
@Fragmaster3000 Yeah originally the song was called 'I'm so bored with you' and Joe changed it to USA
Great stuff, but not the same. Train didn't have the fat sound of the Top!
there is relief......in johnny appleseed
joe strummer my fellow townsman!
joe strummer move soooooooooooooo very uniquely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He called him by his stage name.
@FlatLand43 thank you. We know we suck.
bored of and bored with
both are correct?
can anyone tell me?
I heard tomarrow going to be BORING!
This song is sooooooo fucking true the up the Brixton 4 wooooyaaaaa
Anyone know who the drummer is here? It's neither Topper or Terry.
lol, the clash rule!
@youtubbs67 This was, like, before he had his show. It's, like, you know, Queen Latifiah used to do videos and now she has a show.
@Brasscaribou yeah i was wondering the same
which concert was this?? anybody give a clue, pls!

Who is the drummer for this concert???
yas that is not Martin.
Is this at the U.S 82' tour?
Ya i thought he did too
Is it me or did they switch the 1st and 3rd verses?
and no that isnt Terry Chimes on drums, its some guy named Pete or Howard somethin,I just wish Topper couldve gotten over his addiction cuz then the Clash wouldve been around longer and wouldve done even bigger and better things
Um... Yes... it is.
true no topper and mick and joe's partnership was deteriorating
After all these years, Joe Strummer seems intense and focused, Mick Jones seems like he was high or like he’d had a head injury.
He probably was high
@30fuVkingdollars Ye, but I think that the song is dedicated to a war!! (I too think like you xD)
the clash: proving that punk bands CAN sound good if they care enough to try, since 1976
Sorry, I meant Pete, not Terry, dunno why I wrote that, hah.
yip .. nice one dude...
joe changed the whole song...
its clearly about the americanisation of the UK ... :) which is very true today or even more so than then now :(

He aint fucken Terry Chimes. This is one of Peter Howard's first gigs.
Not the pop of The Clash Standard! Joe DID fuck up firing Topper.
+David Miller Mate Topper wasn't functional. Agreed the end of the band but what do you do?
it wasn't a fuck up. they had no choice. they paid to send topper to rehab three times, he was an out of control heroin addict and they cared about him and wanted him to get better so they had to send him off.
Ginsberg does spoken word vox on Ghetto Defendant on Combat Rock album. 'Strung out committee, Not sitting pretty..'
Listen to it...
Thumbs up if you RUclips'd for "I am so bored" and got here.
No.
@paigepaigebaby I vote "with"
@MrHello435222 hendrix was american and rock and roll was an american invention, lol

@shandirocks you know the clash did a rap song
nice when joe stays quiet.
+John Tee You should give it a go mate.
Joe kinda resmbles Harland Williams in this video
That's Terry Chimes on drums? This must be that strange 1982 tour just before the band exploded.
Pete Howard on drums

Are Mick Jones's ears a prop?
Ghana 2-1 U.S.A. (26/06/2010)
mick's having trouble with the microphone!
@xXemexicoXx most people are ignorant to meanings unless its straight forward.
actualy i dont mean to correct u but the song was about mick jones gf, not joe strummers, if you correct someone at least get it right.
@RussianBear05 i never said he wasnt, i just stated that topper was better than terry
woww hey is joe strummer short or mick and paul are too tall? cause I notice poor mick uncomfortable with the short height of the mic...
+Genia Torres Joe wasn't tall.
I HOPE THERE IS A SUDDEN INTEREST IN THE CLASH LOL!☠💀

he's not terry. it's another drummer pete howard who came shortly after terry comeback
