Hello there George. Nice to see you again. I appreciate your take on Getting Around. I hesitated on buying it because of the reviews. Not that it is a bad album at all. But I think I have enough with "Go", "One Flight Up", "Doin' Allright" and "Our Man in Paris". That is all that I need at the moment. Definitely checking out the Andrew Hill. Another one of my faves. Thanks George. You set the jazz bar way high again~ Rob/Boston
@@Paneeks1960 hi rob hope you are well yip your right with Dexter Gordon. Doesn’t do a bad lp but you got to draw a line with some artists. Stanley turentine. Grant green. Donald Byrd etc. Andrew hill is a great challenge to your mind.
Hey George, only watched part of video so far (will finish later.) Really good records there! I’ll definitely order the Rendell LP….really like his music. The Joe Harriot one sounds like something I would like also (listened to some of his music but couldn’t find this one on Apple Music.) but I really liked what I heard. Have a nice warm day!
@@williamnow146 hi Bradley yes you will love the don Randell lp as you have him. Should be Joe harriott solo stuff kicking around. He done some free but also done a more conventional hard bop I have coming.
@@jazzbumsmike cheers mike yes nice to pick up a couple of originals they probably got a few more releases around the world at the time. I’m fairly new to British jazz also. Great new rabbit hole to explore.
Hi George. Sweet Stan Tracey pick-up, I rarely see his records about the place. I used to see his son Clark live quite a bit back in the day on the Yorkshire jazz scene - just looked him up and it turns out he's written a book about his Dad (came out in 2017). Liking the British slant here, must check some of these out, really like what I've heard of Don Rendell. 👍
Pretty sure they’ve done a couple of runs of the Gearbox British jazz either that or a staggered release of one run. Hoping they find a few more as I’m missing one or two. Also I would recommend the British jazz compilation, my copy gets regular airtime.

Very nice George, I am just recently exploring those UK artists, cool to see those you picked up. And the prices seemed very good!

Hi James. Yes what a treasure trove of great British jazz out there. Just needs bit more work to find it.
Bill Frisell's such a wonderful player. The tone from that Tele he gets these days is something else...
For sure he is way the best in his field.

@@SideShowRobb-sv4vi thanks rob yes I fancy that comp. Enjoying my delve in to this.
