Another great video by Chris at Alamo Music. Chris is extremely knowledgeable besides being a great guitar player. It’s s pleasure to deal with Chris and Alamo music because they really go the extra mile to ensure you get the best instrument to suit both your needs and budget. Highly recommended.

WOW!! Beautiful, and only $5,000.00 more than a standard $6,000.00 Martin D-42. Chump change.

Why would I want such a stunning work of art like that? It looks stunning, it sounds full and resonant and likely plays very nicely (I drop qualifiers once I play an instrument). No sirree, I have an Airline guitar. They're a current builder but, mine is a rather old piece of garbage - great for calisthenics but awful for playing - won't tune, the action is three stories above the fretboard and the tone is awful. Wait, did I just bring myself to tears with envy over this Purple Martin? Nah, someone must be chopping onions nearby. (Note: I do have another playable guitar but that juxtaposition of terrible to art was irresistible). If I had the discretionary funds, I'd have flown down and likely walked away with it. Sigh, back to work on Monday morning toiling to pay the bills. Nice video demonstration - that is a very nice guitar with nicely combined tonewoods that actually sound very good together. Of note is that the Engleman top on number 43 (this instrument) is very lively and resonant.
