Isn't there a way to de-energize the circuit board so you don't get "shocked" when removing the circuit board? The reason I say this is because the capacitors store energy that's why you get shocked when touching it with the screw driver or your fingers. For example, you press the off button for about 30 to 60 seconds after you unplug the TV or something else that can de-energize the power circuit board.
you can short them out after you unhook the wires from the board with a screw driver. but you still have to remove the board to do so. so you still want to be careful at first.
Good video, man. Getting ready to buy this same board on eBay. Would much appreciate it if you would be so kind as to let us know which eBay seller(s) sent you the bum boards, so we can avoid those guys. Thanks for your time, and any reply.
I forget who sent the bum board. But he finally did admit once he got it back that he tried to use it in another tv and found out that it was bad. After I sent him photos of a working tv with another board from another ebay seller. He just tried to tell me it was my back light witch I knew was wrong as my mom has two of these tv's and we switched the board from one tv to the other and the issue followed the board and not the tv. So we knew the back light was just fine as it worked before putting the bad board in. Heck we have three tv's with the same power board in the family. One at my house and two at my mom's house. One was in her bedroom and the other was in the bedroom of a special needs grandson that lives with my parents. Not my child but my older brothers child. It was the special needs grand kids that died so we took my mom's good board and move it to his tv and order the board for my mom's tv. So we new it worked before we remove the board from it. There seems to be a 75" onn tv now with the same board as well. Look at the photos and it looks almost the same just the color of the heat sinks changed. same part number on the board.
Im having this issue with onn 70 inch 4k where the screen goes out and the sound is still heard. If i swap the power supply board will it fix my issue?
there are many of them on ebay just not the same ebay link. Search onn and the model number also it seems the onn 75" also uses the same power board. Just make sure it has the same connections. i think they change the color of the heat sinks but other then that they are the same. They have the same part number.

My ONN TV 65" will come on and just freeze on the Logo screen. I've gone through the reset process (reset button), updates and reconnection to my wireless internet and it just goes back to the logo screen. I'd hate to toss it if there is a board replacement option, but I'm thinking it's not the power board because it does instantly come on then stick on the Logo screen.

be careful as the board holds voltage even when unplugged and I shocked the crap out of myself with it. you can take a screw driver over the caps and de-charge it.
It's great you show people this but please don't ever check a board for power with a screwdriver again! You might have been safer to handle it but you take the chance of blowing up the new board. Especially if you shorted out the hot side with the cold side. If you don't know what that means you shouldn't be messing with these. Use a volt meter to test for voltage. Some of these boards have in excess of 400 bolts. You more than likely screwed that board up and now whoever you got it from has proof!

Be careful discharging the capacitors that way. You could cook a "new" board...

I would think it's the main board with the tuner and all when that happens.
When you were having the black issue, were you able to still hear sound?
sure was but in the video it wasn't hooked to anything.

I have this model and I have a buzzing coming from the top right of the tv. By chance would this be related to it.
It could be.
Is the sound coming out close to where the power cord is? The power supply, the cord connector is built right into it.
@@JUST_ONE_ID10T The sound is coming from the top back left of the tv, I was hoping it was related to the power supply but the sound isn't near it.
But it still turns on and has display, but the buzzing dims every now and then.
Sounds like a bad coil or bad capacitor on the power supply board. there are a lot of these power supplies on ebay.
Can you provide a link of the board you purchased? I'm having the same issue
is it the same model tv? it's all over ebay when you look at all kinds of price points.
