You missed one of the coolest events from CK2. IF the child of satan is born in a position where there is NO possible way for them to ever inherit, most commonly if they belong to a muslim dynasty and are unfortunate enough to be female, they will dissapear shortly after their 16 birthday. Everyone will be super-relieved of course, since they still tend to kill some of their siblings on the way out. Roughly 20 years later they return as the leader of the Aztecs, leading the sunset invasion. And YES, this can happen at any time. I had it happen in the year 800 once. Luckily I was playing in Persia or something at the time, IIRC, so I wasn't first on their hit-list.

I can't reform hellinism because the one time i did and converted my self , a huge crusade was launched against me and i had to convert back again.
I can't rise in secret societies. My infamy is too high. I have too good battle abilities to die in battle, my suicide attemps all end in failures..... Life is but pain. Imortality is but continious suffering.

For most of the various phantom isles they can tell you about, you'll get a deceitful explorer making up stories (though the stories they make up are generally historic examples of legendary islands in the Atlantic) - an explorer generated with the honest trait will only tell you about places they've actually been to, which means Greenland, the Purple Isles, orrr... the Sunset Empire.

In regards to the chess event, there are certain things you can do to boost your odds of winning.
The game decides if you survive if you reach a certain amount of points, obviously most come from the RNG but there are a few things you can do to boost those odds.
    1. Invite them in, even if you don't invite them to stay the event will fire so inviting them gives you the most amount of points.
    2. Pick black, black gives you a slight point advantage while white doesn't.
    3. Traits, If you have gamemaster, genius, etc. ONLY pick those RNG decisions as they massively increase your odds of winning
    4. If you are feeling lucky, give up your kid, it increases your odds of playing a better move
    Besides that it's all RNG.

Her heir became Holy Roman Emperor, turning the HRE into a bastion of zoroastrianism in central europe. To maintain the holiness of the lineage of the Saoshyant, the Persian Empire and the HRE were permanently allied (you know how). .Later when the aztec hordes came to europe, my German-Persian alliance responded with hordes of our own, eventually pushing the aztecs out of continental Europe. 32:32 Sadly the story of Elagabalus/Heliogabalus is mostly considered to be false. Not that they didn’t exist, but that the only major source we have of their reign is from someone who rly dislikes them, and in Roman culture the worst type of slander was being compared to a woman. Like if people found out a politician went down on his wife, that man’s career was over. It wasn’t explicitly about being a woman but about being lower, so like Ceaser’s political career was almost tanked cuz people found out he was bottoming for some king in Anatolia, but women were always seen as lower than men. As such, Elagabalus wanting to be a women shows them as being weak, spineless, and of low morals. I did my best to use gender neutral pronouns here as we still don’t know for certain, and prob never will, but I caution against using them as a trans icon.

I think Haesting is a chump compared to Dyre the Stranger. Dyre is a 22 year old genius viking with 1000 event troops and 1/2 of them are huscarls and the other half id varangian vets. Dyre is related to every other viking Jarl on the map and can ally ALL of them. IN FACT... Dyre can Vassalize every norse viking within 10 years, and create the north sea in his own lifetime. He starts off with a norse holy site, and can easily take over 2 more and run a pilgrimage to reform Aasatru within 5 years. I have done pretty much everything with Dyre, it is Haestening on steroids. Because he starts in Kiev, noone realizes how powerful he is, because to really use his diplo ties you have to conquer some land in scandinavia. You can conquer More, and you will border sigurd and bjorn. Then you can help make sure Ivar wins against east seax. If he does you can take the county between Ivar and Halfdan. The moment Bjorn creates sweden, you subjugate him with ivar and halfdan as allies it's an easy win. Once you are king with true ruler you can vassalize all your relatives (which is like every viking that matters). You get so powerful from that that everyone else will vassalize as well. You can do the whole thing with only 3 wars. Stranger ftw.

The real border gore is when your region is shaped like a triangle, because the original meaning of the word "gore" (and certainly the primary meaning at the time when the Crusader Kings games are set) is "triangle." That's why streets that cut the corner off of a grid are often called "Gore Street," because they form a triangular lot.

The next time a major civil war happened, a mostly Christian hispania was the biggest kingdom in the Empire, and my line eventually became Basileus of Byzantium as well as King of Hispania.

Like there is good reason to assume that it wasn't actually shouted at the Council of Clermont and was just made up by one of the guys who wrote about it to make the Pope look more like a cool populist.
