Eye opening stuff. If you don't want more you can't be poor, because you have enough.. also no wind is favourable if you don't know where you're going.. both amazing
@@uxbf_hdnc It is kind of late as you probably found your answer elsewhere on internet or couldn't find an answer simply forgot about it, but incase if anybody wonders the same question and is currently reading this here is the answer: Seneca incidates in this quote that all people should have a purpose, and if not then nothing in life is good for you, he means this with the analogy of ''sailing to a port'' a clear destination which you decided travel to it is simply a purpose you have chosen yourself for. Second analogy is ''wind'' which can be interpreted as situations and occurrences in our life that happens with or without our control. The meaning here is that if we don't have a clear purpose or we don't know what we live for then whatever happens in our life will not be favorable for us. To put things together, Seneca boardly means: ''If a man doesn't know what he lives for, nothing in life will be beneficial for him''
It is, that’s why when you suffer from imagining things and hypothetical negative scenarios, you tend to manifest negative situations. Because you train your mind to look negatively at things and attract more negative things, just because you put your attention on negativity 😅 You know people searching for that negative aspect of something they hear, or always looking for what is going to go wrong etc… or what will happen if and blah blah blah
@Alex P Yes right. Bad things its not gonna happen just because you think those things. If you are in cave, and you are thinking everyday every second that somebody gonna shoot you. Your thought is not gonna make somebody walk to that cave and shoot you. But there is no point to worry about that kind of thing. You could spend that worrying time to thinking something good. But it can also be hard to train the mind think good things. But ofc you can also in many ways find yourself in bad situations if you just think badly.
"Being poor is not having too little, it is wanting more" as a self proclaimed poor this is eye opening, hits hard

Hard physical labor for 50 years destroys the body. Ask a ditch digger🤣
Every one was spot on absolute truth.
