- Hey everyone, this is a range of the best moments involving Kotallo with my own little added extras.
And I just want to say what a character Kotallo is, at first I just thought he's another brute type character, but wow once you get to know him with all the optional dialogue you really get a great sense of honour from him and he becomes so likeable!

Some of those optional dialogues with Kotallo were brilliant, at first I thought he was just another brute type character but I was very wrong!
Most of the Tenakh is suprisingly cultured as well with their military jargon and style.
Guess this what happened when they copy the US Military.
One of the best characters in this.
He was initially written as a just another brute type character but as the voice actor took on the role, they started liking the character more and more. He wasn't actually supposed to be a big character at all. He was supposed to die at the Embassy, and then later was supposed to die at the Kulrut. Which is why you can find his corpse in both of those quests, they forgot to take it out.

It never fails to make me giggle when he says "They call them seashells" while looking like an excited toddler. 💀 We need to protect this man at all costs lol
After meeting him, I was more focused on Aloy exploring every single conversation with him rather than anything else. I was looking forward to going back to Base just for the sake of seeing him. It's crazy. Never got those vibes from other characters, and never considered romance for Aloy until meeting him.
The sarcasm. The respect. The sparks between them. His eyes have fire whenever he look at Aloy, his voice gets deeper and I'm in trouble.
With the direction they were going with Erend, Varl, Avad and Kotallo I'm surprised they didn't give us romance choices. I wish they did.
I'm glad there's no romance option to be fair, I don't think the game needs it.
Aloy is very VERY much an asexual character (imo, she's aromantic too), and I really loved the fact that she DOESNT have any romance options. This is her found family, and that's all she wants and needs in her life (something she got to learn, too). It was just...so nice to not have a romance (or several) shoved into a story where it didn't fit
@@MizuShadowWolf Or maybe it's just a game without romance options because it's a game about this single-minded path you're set on, and anything outside of that for Aloy would be futile until her mission reaches its end? Not everything is about sexuality... but I agree with your points about found family. If the creators do plan romance options in the future, we should also have the options to keep avoiding them, if we'd like to. Hopefully either function doesn't hinder the story/course of the game too dramatically... unless they let you choose your ending/romance, like Beyond Two Souls

@@elnoare I completely agree. Hero's don't have time for romance. The scene where Aloy is talking to Gaia about Elizabet and Aloy says she gave everything... and Aloy realizes at that moment that she's also talking about herself. If Aloy became a regular person she would be far less interesting.
When we first met Kotallo, I thought he was just a jealous and mad brute. But then when he joined us and got the (spoiler) new arm, I knew I wanted him to choke me to comple-- I mean that he was a very kind and intelligent man that just needed the freedom to attain knowledge.

@@emilyofjane Seashells might not exist yet in the New World. Molluscs and snails have track records for being disruptive and invasive species. So Artemis might have, with good reason, stalled their reintroduction until Poseidon and Demeter gave the all-clear on stabilisation.
That's at least what I assumed when I heard that Kotallo, who has been to the sea many times as a marshal, hasn't seen a seashell before.

Early on: "I will never heal!"
Middle: "Its absence is always present"
Later on: "This is what I am now. What I overcome."
A full character arc in three lines. That and the way he briefly gives a small smile at times before going back to his soldier face is what got me liking him.
Yeah that pretty much sums he's arc up, Kotallo is a brilliant character and I can't wait to see more of him!

There's just something about him getting down on one knee to carry that cannon on his back- This man lives to serve and I'm- Aah- I love him.
When he fought back that Bristle back by hand, even Aloy was like “oh damn”.
There are many times where he seems to have such an inner peace to him despite everything he’s gone through. One of my favorite characters.

I really like that Kotallo character got pictured well in the game, his eyes reflected the battle hardened person, yet still had that innocent eyes that shown him the willingness to learn new things.
Yeah, best boy Kotallo! He wasn't just strong, he was also perceptive, humble, and had a sharp wit. During the Bulwark shenanigans and after the 'unkind comparison' quip he quickly grew to be my favorite. There's this great deal of gentleness about him as well when he's not in combat. I hope he returns during the Nemesis Arc. Or at least I hope he finds some good seashells haha. He's a great character.

I love him, such a softie honestly. You know that type of character who acts cold but actually has a heart of Gold? Yeah, THAT'S HIM
Gosh this character is just extremely well made from start to finish. Can't remember when I was liking a character this much before.
Their first quest together and the way they bonded/got to know one another over the course of it is just so wholesome. Especially at the end, after he was denounced as a "cripple" by Tekotteh and Kotallo held his impressive speech like a true Marshal. And Aloy addressing him as such once again for me just showed, despite their short acquaintance at that point, their understanding of each others character.
12:30 I'm curious because in my gameplay Aloy's answer was different. Instead of "We are lucky to have you on our side" she said "Thank you, Kotallo. I'm glad all this brought us together" then he replied "You brought us together. And I am grateful too". Which for me was one of my favorites conversations they had, don't know why this isn't the standard reply tho
That's interesting, maybe they added some variations in the optional dialogues to give the game more replay value. Or maybe they changed bits with an update?

I think it differs on if you did Kotallo’s side quest or not but I’m not fully sure.
I want Aloy to finally get a romance option in Kotallo. He is just such a good match and character.
Plus, he’s a battle-hardened warrior that wants to play with seashells. What could be better? Lol

My man. Best part of him is how he recognizes strength in knowledge and seeks to learn more, from physically weaker characters. He's a cool warrior.

Kotallo is one of the best characters I've ever got the pleasure of seeing and playing with. He was ofc not understanding Alloys ways but he tried, stood with her and didnt let his arm stop him from fighting. I hope after everything they find each other maybe as a love interest

I immediatly started to ship him with Aloy. I never thought about a romance in the game (except when the sun god clearly showed interest in aloy) but damn, i think Aloy and Kotallo would be a match. And i think many other people feel the same.

Personally, I don't think so. I think Kotallo clearly sees Aloy as a respectable leader, which she is highly charismatic. Someone he offers loyalty not someone he wants to make a wife.
I feel the same way. I like that Kotallo respects her. He doesn’t hit on her clumsily like others do. He keeps a respectable distance. However, I think he absolutely would take the chance - he clearly admires her. Just doesn’t want to burden her.

I adore RDR2 and Charles and I was so embarrassed when I learnt Kotallo's voice actor is also Charles' voice actor because I didn't notice at all! Dude voiced two fantastic characters and did it so well too!

I know this is off topic but I had to share this. Before starting the 'Singularity' mission I decided to go around and farm materials for upgrades to my weapons and armor. While hunting Frostclaw parts near Stone Crest I ran into Kotallo. But every time I tried to get close to him to start a dialog, he runs away. So I keep chasing him and he leads me to the point where you start the mission to test out his new arm. But the dialog for that mission doesn't start, he just stands there.
Very strange! HFW did have some weird issues and bugs. Like why does Alva still wear her old focus after being given the new one?

I was really moved by that line. It’s such a genuine gesture of respect and admiration for someone he didn’t even know too well. One of the many reasons why I really enjoyed interacting with him. He’s such a great character.

Kotallo is such a good character and i love the way him and the tenakth are written. An entire tribe built around old world holograms showing the achievements of the ten in both mountains, land and desert and in the air. Their tribe honors their memory
It’ll never fail to impress me how Kotallo straight-up bodied a charging Bristleback when we saw how Erend broke ribs that way

Everyone here ships him with Aloy, yet I kinda shipped him with Alva (before she said that she is into women and already has a girlfriend) 👀 nevertheless, I think their friendship is cute with Kotallo showing Alva some fighting moves and then telling her it was probably better for her to run away 😂 and how he said he would protect her with his life in their final mission. Would honestly have loved to see them both interact more.

I remembering the first trailer, back in 2020 i think. There you can see the corpse of a dead fish at the beach overgrown by the red blight and on top of it a hermit crab. They use abandoned sea shells as a house. Maybe Kotallo should visit the cost someday ;)

Noshir Dalal is so good man. Charles Smith, Kotallo, Bode Akuna, Mysterio. Nailed every character.
He's like a fantastic character from One Piece. He reminds me of Roronoa Zoro in certain ways. I would love for Guerrilla to give an important continuity to the character, it has been the best incorporation in terms of new characters.
