Aerith was kinda pushing my buttons a little this game, but I agree. Really wanted to dope slap Cloud for that shit, but I can't even be mad at him for cause I know that's not Cloud.
Sephiroth was majorly controlling Cloud once they entered the Temple… and he said that after Aerith basically said Sephiroth is no match for them, so of course the villain made his puppet shut her up. I wouldn’t really say this is a strike against Cloud, even if he is an ass throughout the game.

They really show the corruption of his mind in the final act of the story here. Cloud is very much not okay.
