one of the recent things going around is that oscar isaac and ethan hawke are neighbors, and wanted to work together, so oscar specifically asked ethan to try for the role to make it happen. small world that you're neighbors too!

Moon Knight is very different from Batman! I'll say Daredevil is closer to Batman.
Someone said "Moon Knight wears white so his enemies can see him. Batman wears black to hide in the shadows" and I think that's a perfect explanation (:
Marvel comics created Moon Knight back in the ‘70s as an obvious rip-off of Batman. (Millionaire martial arts expert fights crime by night in a cape…) But since then, some of the writers have tried to do things that were different to Batman - the multiple personalities, a lot of stuff with the Egyptian god - so he’s no longer much like Batman.

Well, Batman is a rip-off of Daredevil. Yes, i know Batman was created first,but he used to be just another silly comic book character, the Batman as the dark and serious character we know today only exist because Daredevil did it first.
Steven/Marc has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), formally known as Multiple Personality Disorder, and here is what D.I.D is. Patients have 'alters' who come forth, most often when the person or host is in (what they perceive to be) distress. It usually develops as a result of extreme, sustained trauma. The alters act as a container of sorts to keep the thoughts, feelings, pain etc. of the trauma from being experienced by the primary person/Host.
The jump cuts in this episode represent the loss of time that many patients experience because an alter other than the main personality has been at the forefront.
Some goals of treatment can be: process the trauma so as to stop the harm that occurs when patients re-experience everything associated with it (the thoughts, feelings etc. I mentioned above), adopting the use of grounding techniques to try to remain 'present' and decrease the 'loss' of time, and possible integration of alters. That being said, because the alters 'hold' the negative repercussions r/t to the trauma, integration on some level does occur when the trauma is processed by the main person. the alters do have real memories and they are also real people.
This was a good way of showing how involuntary alter changes are. For what I know about DiD, you can really lose days even when one of you alters decides to front. Seems Steven is a fairly new-ish alter so whatever happened to Marc to make Steven take over for so long must’ve pretty large trauma (which alters are born/created which is through Massive trauma). I appreciate the fact they (the host and alters) Haven’t made an “Evil” alter yet. Again DiD is about managing trauma not causing it. Yes, some alters (known as Protecters) can be rougher on the outside ( aka in front while the host is in the mind). But, never straight-up causing problems on purpose only to protect the host and the other alters. And Marc is the host as for Steven he is the one who is the most out aka in front so he can have some social life
my youngest sister has it, and the loss of time portrayal is just how she describes it, one second shes sitting in her chair, the next second shes in a clothes shop on the other side of town 7 hours later

@@ZK4518 its tough, my other sisters have pretty much given up trying to look after her, so she lives with me, my wife and my kids, and being around our animals helps keep her mind calm, she still gets "episodes" but not as often as they used to be. i got really angry at my sisters when they would try to pretend nothing was wrong, you cant hide that sort of thing from someone suffering with it. me and my family would sit down with my sister and explain to the best of our knowledge what happened during the episode

This is a very serious situation, and I know at times it can be really hard looking after someone with DiD. But pretending the it doesn’t exists is messed up. I am glad you and your family are trying your very best too keep her in the loop if she dissociates, your a awesome brother and I am sure she is lucky too have you. Hope everything works out. @@bigfrankfraser1391 Would writing an hourly diary help with remembering whats going on. Each persona would keep a diary and post a quick one sentence activity or thought or conversations.
What surprised me is that while in Germany, not once did Steven even check the date and time. I mean i get it he was always being chased, but usually when he wakes up the first things he grabs is his phone.

Amazing episode. This show gives me Fight Club, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Jacob's Ladder, Spawn, and Donnie Darko vibes. The visuals in this episode were glorious.

People can't go more than 3 months without 'fiending' for new MCU content :) Love that a lot of the main trailer shots are in this first episode! The sooner all these MCU projects are able to utilise the new Stagecraft/Volume Tech instead of traditional green screen the better! Also, a museum in Central London would have significantly more staff members!
Moon Knight is a vigilante named Marc Spector who's a mercenary and ex-boxer, son of a rabbi and suffers from dissociative identity disorder. He has 2 alters in the comics one of which is Steven Grant.

Moon Knight was a member of Hawkeye's West Coast Avengers in the comics.
The director of this show actually is Egyptian so the portrayal of the Egyptian pantheon although fictionalized is more authentic than most Western media depictions prior who tend to somewhat Christianize the material.

I'm guessing that they will focus on Marc's point of view, and we will learn what actually happen to Steven's fish.
This is a good way to seeing what Banner and Hulk are going through, but I see why you will relate this with Venom situation because you hear the inner voice of the second personality. The twist might be that Steven could be a new personality that is invading Marc's body.

PS: Oh yeah! Why would anyone have problems with episode titles? 🤔 It was annoying when awards shows would refer to episode titles that we as viewers never saw! I wondered what they were talking about. So I complained that I hated to wait for the DVD, to learn a title. Bring them back! They did! I'm happy! 🤓
There are some similarities between Moon Knight and Batman.. but the people who say "Moon Knight is Marvel's Batman" are WAY off.. The only Marvel characters I would compare Batman to would be people like Hawkeye or Black Widow since they don't have any powers either.
The only DC character that I can think of off the top of my head that I would compare to Moon Knight is Crazy Jane from Doom Patrol with her split personalities.
Crazy Jane is more Legions counterpart since boths powers are tied to the Alter in charge.

Quick work on this. BTW if Hawke lives in your neighborhood, so does Isaac. Supposedly they're neighbors, and Isaac asked Marvel to cast Hawk because they always wanted to work together.
It's an intriguing show. Especially since the moment it becomes obvious we're dealing with D.I.D. and start paying attention to little clues like Steven never actually REACHING his mother, it's obvious he's not the original personality. So you ask yourself why a clueless bumbler might get created as an Alter, and... shockingly the show answers that the moment we see him pass that Purity test. Now THAT'S good writing.
The insulting voice is not Marc. Or Oscar Isaac. It's actually F. Murray Abraham.

I will say that the ladies slavish devotion to their “zero spoilers” policy really does them a disservice especially going into a brand new series. They start off by spouting out some of the most outlandish theories that make very little sense in any context let alone in the context of what they are actually watching. It leads to them being even more confused than an average viewer at times which can be very frustrating to us watching THEM.
It's frustrating for YOU. I, for one, enjoy the unspoiled reactors. There's nothing that irks me more than somebody who is 'waiting' for certain scenes from the trailer. Or talking about things that are to come before they even occur.
I never watch trailers to something I know I'm going to watch. I had no clue that Ethan Hawke was in this series. It was pretty cool to recognize him and be surprised.
Sorry that unspoiled reactors bother you personally because I adore the heck out of it.

@@bryanburton6087 UnSPOILED reactors are better. I just know that there's a difference between unspoiled and being improperly prepared. As I stated in my "complaint", these ladies have gone so far out of their way to be "unspoiled", that they end up actively disinforming themselves with ridiculous theories that have nothing to do with the world that they're about to observe, where knowledge about Egyptian mythology might be relevant but even absent of foreknowledge, knowing that it plays a role means pay extra attention to every bit of it that gets presented. In this case, knowing there's a link to Egyptian mythology isn't a spoiler, but the ladies' approach to spoilers would consider it to be one, because they are looking to be as ill-informed as possible, and THAT is a condition that I just consider abhorrent.
