Wow. I am beyond impressed. That is the BEST painted inner frame I've EVER seen. Your painting is incredibly high quality. Some of the accented detail looks a bit rough, but the actual pieces look like they were molded in those colors. I noticed absolutely no loss of detail anywhere. Truly incredible. Did you top coat it to protect the paint? Truly gorgeous work.

i love the little red and blue accents you did, really makes it pop. personally on mine (which im about to paint) im gonna do the inner frame that shows outside the armor in metallic grey, and the frame that doesnt show in gun metal, kind of like how Otaku Builder does it

I may never paint any of my kits with this amount of effort, but I would use the inner frame color palette for my 3d hard surface mech project.

I am in the process of making a PG Strike (my first PG), I had planned to make mine to blow my current real and master Grade collection out of the water in terms of looks but after seeing this I am going to have to seriously step up my paintwork. I had planned to make it without too much paint mostly using it to add light weathering, but seeing how well yours turned out I will have to step up my game, the level of detail I was origionaly planning on will look disapointing after seeing yours.
so thank you for inspiring me and I hate you for making me a lot more work, but far more thanks than hate

The inner frame is painted perfectly, but why didn't you detail the armor? You didn't even panel line it.

hope you could do a tutorial video on how you were able to paint your PG strike gundam,,so i can use it as my guide in painting,,i don't really paint model kits..i just build them,,but after watching your video, it motivates me to do so..i'll be very thankful if you'll do it..thanks a lot..GODbless..;))
Perhaps I have time to do tutorials in the future but there are a lots of tutorials on painting on youtube as well like vegeta8259. I dint actually calibrate the air pressure and i mix the 2 color at ratio of about 2(1001):1(125). If you never done any painting job before my advice is start with HG kits first because painting need practices as well, when you satisfy with your painting skill then only paint your PG, PG were too costly.

how did you organize your parts? mind sharing your steps from building to painting and final steps? I'm starting out and I find organizing the pieces after taking it out of the runners difficult with a big kit like pg
+iniquityangel Prepare boxes with slots for keeping different runners. Label the slot/box so you can organized the runners well by knowing which part of body the runners belong to.

Very nice job on all the details and the whole kit looks really good, I'm going to build this after my pg 00raiser , I think I'll do my frame like yours I like it a lot what color did you use on the frame not counting the gold,silver or copper colors
U mean most parts of the inner frame? I use Gaia 1001 paint (dark stainless steel) mixed with a bit Gaia 125 (starbright iron). In my opinion these 2 colors and others as well are nice choice for mecha as they make the surface appears very metallic.

oliver balbutin Thanks for your comment, the job is mainly the result of air brush, and some minor parts (gold color) on the inner frame are hand painting using fine brush. The paint for inner frame are gaia 125(star bright iron) and 1002(dark stainless steel).
is PG Kit made out of thin metal? or just Metal coating on plastic? its shine soo much xD

In many way's that figure was amazing without the armour.
buy 2 PGs display the innerframe only one, and the other PG with armor..that would be a great eye catcher

wow..did you calibrate the air brush..cuz as far as i know..air brushes have calibration unto how much pressure you wanted to come out in the air brush..and did you just mix the two color you mentioned with equal amount,,or you just apply it alternately??

Hey, Noob Question here, Im about to get my first PG after building 3 RGs , 1 MG and a HG. Is it too early to get a PG ? If I got one do i have to separate all the parts from the runner and put them in a separate Plastic Box just like you did? Is it okey not to paint this? Just Straight up build?
If you didn't have any problems/accidents building previous gunpla then go for PG. PG is just a way too much runners and time consuming, nothing else difficult. If you are ok with your previous RGs and MGs without paint on them, then it is ok to build PG without painting. Which PG you going to get?

Your painting of the inner frame is lovely. Your metallics are shiny and reflective.
So why no panel lining or a simple touch of weathering? Your paint work is amazing but it's a bit reduced since you didn't pulled out the details of the kit if you see what I mean.
Yup, it is a bit wasted that i dint do the panel lining. I not so used to panel lining, hopefully do it after the painting. By the way panel lining require more dedicated work than normal painting for a decent results.

Did you top coating and did some painting on yr Aile Strike PG? the colors are so lively.... i have the same aile strike...PG...haven't yet built it... but from what i can see tru the plastics...the color of the pieces seems so normal...

Gloss black primer > high shine silver/chrome > translucent white color > gloss top coat
It’s ideal to use an airbrush for this application.
I've painted 2 hg kits and I usually get the paint coming off on moving joints and this is with acrylic paints with a primer, I'm starting a ver ka sazabi with mostly alclads. Did you have any issues with the paint on moving parts?

Yes. I use Alclad to paint innerframes and the paint do get scratched by moving joints. I recommend sanding the areas of friction just a little bit and gloss coat your paint. It will dull the Shine but it will protect the paint.

Forgive my question, I'm an unexperienced builder... But how do you manage to find the required pieces if you remove them all from the runners at the beginning? I mean, if you need to find "G3" in the middle of hundreds of different pieces without any help from the lettering and numbering. I would love to build the entire kit in one go without having to stop to remove nubs and such, but I'm afraid it would get extremely confusing especially with MGs and PGs.
+juneauz I separated those pieces into different slots of a boxes according to the body parts, like a slot for right arm, a slot for left leg etc. Of course you still need to find them but this will make jobs alot more easier. By the way, if you build more and more gundam, you can easily find out where the part belongs to (i mean the location of the part on gundam, not the runner).
+712ckw thanks for the quick reply! Ok so I guess experience is a big factor... I'm only on my third kit :) Are those "slot" boxes specifically sold for gunpla building? Any idea where I could buy one online?
+juneauz The boxes are not specifically sold for gunpla. I found those boxes in a local hardware store so I guess the boxes are used for store nails or screw of different sizes.

What color you use to get glossy affect on armor?

I just got my first gundam and its lightning z gundam and what do you recommend me to do with the stickers should I paint the eyes or use the stickers
Lukey Lee I paint the eyes instead of decals (sticker), but decal will be more beautiful. I use paint because I want the flourescent effect on eyes. Since you just get your first gundam, I assume u are new to painting. I recommend decals since painting is not an easy job. There are some channels on painting tutorials on youtube though.
