Thank you for making a video on this and the 6 essay questions I had to answer were: 1. What is the role of a police department in our society? 2. In your opinion, how are the police viewed by the general public? Why? 3. What are your guiding principles? What are the guiding principles of a police officer? 4. What was it that drew you to pursue a career in law enforcement? Why the (name of agency)? 5. As a police officer, how will you make a positive impact on the community? What do you hope to achieve as a police officer? 6. What do you view as the most important day-to-day responsibilities of the police- and what role in the community do you feel you serve?
Thank you so much for these videos! I found them a few weeks ago. I had my interview last Thursday & I signed my conditional offer letter. There was 1 written question & 8 panel questions, interview w/Chief (I skipped this 1 bc we’ve talked several times) & Deputy Chief & then the voice/poly test. I have to now do my psych as well as my medical && then it’s on to the beginning of the journey! Thanks so much Sir!
I used several of your videos to help pass my board interview last week! So grateful. I’m scheduled for a Pre-Conditional Offer interview with the Chief and Deputy next week. Can you do a video on what to expect with these interviews? If it helps, I’ve yet to do background, poly etc yet. Just passed fit, exam and now board. I can’t find a helpful video anywhere. Would love some guidance, thank you!
I have my oral board interview May 20th. Ive been binge watching your videos and definitely has helped a ton. Two more weeks of prep left and hopefully I can kick my "umm" and "uhh" habits in time!
Thank you, I have been watching a lot of your videos for my upcoming oral board interview and all your videos have been very insightful and to help prepare me.
Hello sir, I have been watching your videos for the past week and every single one has been SO helpful. You’ve provided so much insight into the law enforcement interview process and I will definitely be taking notes. I look forward to the upcoming videos! 😃
“Then I’m self employed”😂 Informative and invaluable videos, thank you! I’m researching everything and anything on how the police department works and how to be a great peace officer to the community I am hoping to serve. POV: I believe it’s not about taking situations, attitudes, feelings or statements personal it’s about maintaining a professional and personable demeanor at the same time as protecting civilians to the best of my ability.
Yeah, I always thought that was funny, but remember, me saying that to someone means I let them get to me. You can not take things personally in this job, you have to remain neutral and able to make unbiased decisions. Good luck.
Some departments have some of their policies listed online, if I were going to interview at a department I would check for that and read them if available.
What questions did they ask you? I can add them to the video list. In about a week i'll be offering an interview coaching service over at SpartanTrainingSystems.com Give it about a week and come on over and check it out. Hang in there.
