I love when the Joshes get together!
Yes it's a benign schizophrenia!
I recently got to meet Josh in person at the blue strawberry with Allison young. I can confidently say he is as amazing on guitar in person as he is in the videos. He is just as genuine and kind as you see in many of his other videos.
Excellent work Josh, it was a pleasure meeting you.
Of course he is silly
You mean you meat one of the Turnerborg?
Jansch & Renbourn turned me on to acoustic guitar back when I was a teen. I loved their albums. It is uncanny how Josh and Josh are channeling their style and sound.
Lefthand josh had done so many takes he'd lost count and got grumpy by the time he got it. Righthand Josh got it on the 3rd try and was ecstatic, no euphoric about it. Lol.
This was so short and sweet I loved it! Left me wanting so much more from where this came from.
Ahh Josh Turner and Tosh Jurner always a wonderful combination 👏 glad to see the boys back together!
Clones. The future is clones.
Excellent as always to you two.
I only just stumbled on your music a few days ago, have since watched every video. When I saw you're playing in Portland next month at the Old Church, it seemed like a gift from God. My service (seizure) dog "Renji" and me will be there, God willing!!
I was blown away, I was beside myself listening to this.
Josh was beside himself playing this ...
Jansch and Renbourn! Someone introduced me to Pentangle back in college and they blew my mind. Still my favorite acoustic guitar duo.
Is Pentangle anything like Zentangle?
I was lucky enough to see them play together in 2010, not long before Bert died. It was a real privilege - still one of my favourite concerts. They were still superb, as were Danny Thompson and Jacqui McShee!
Wow, I have never heard anyone cover this piece, much respect.
This is from the album Bert & John, from 1966.
I am a massive fan of both, and play many of their pieces, but not this one !
Well done on a great job Josh.
I think these brothers may have a future in music. The one with the glasses is my favorite.
Beautiful tone and performance man! Your fluidity and skill on the fretboard is just insane.
I've missed this. Spectacular!
So glad your twin is equally talented. Great job!
Nice to see you two getting along.
Superb. Josh on left didn't yet realize how good this would turn out. Josh on right knew 😊
A tale of two Joshes
The left Josh was recorded first, because the right Josh has the headphones and doesn't start at the first count. That also shows this wasn't recorded with a click track. This is amazing!
Thanks for posting this Josh - John and Bert were both friends of mine in the 1970s and I had more than a few drinks with them in the Half Moon in Putney - they would be pleased with this rendition of their music, for sure. I thought that Pentangle were one of the most under-rated bands ever - Danny Thompson was also a really nice guy and I recall travelling with him and some jazz musicians to Glasgow when by coincidence they were all on the same train, and a fair quantity of beer was consumed in the buffet car by all of us. Happy days, sadly long gone.
You never run out of ideas... so creative. Thank you🤗
Saw them on stage in the 1980's: impressive. Pentangle records are so good, not to mention their solo albums (The black balloon !!!). Thank you for this "madeleine".
Yes, they were. I spent an evening drinking beer with John and later, have dinner and wine with Jacqui. Such amazing musicians and wonderful people.
The talent just keeps coming! Love this.
Superb, Josh! Always a treat to hear Bert and John played.
I was lucky enough to be at a Clive Carroll concert here in the UK a couple of months ago on his tour celebrating the music of John Renbourn. Before playing Red’s Favourite he gave the context of it which I didn’t previously know about it, and which really tickled me;
If I recall correctly, when Bert and John lived together in London they played and wrote a lot in their apartment with their landlord “Red” upstairs. Apparently Red couldn’t stand the sound of most of their tunes, as they played them so much - however this particular one he could just about stand so they titled it “Red’s Favourite” , tongue in cheek!
SUPERBE!!!!!!!! MERCI
Renbourn and Jansch were the players that caused me to take the acoustic guitar seriously. Thanks for keeping their memory alive. They were pioneers and true north for many of us on ye ole six string!
Que de chemin parcouru depuis la première vidéo il y a 16 ans jusqu'à aujourd'hui..Un vrai plaisir votre talent 👏🏼👍
Both of you do John Renbourn and Bert Jansch proud. Monument as they are.
Thank you, Joshes.
Sounds like the coolest 12-string ever
Very nice. How nice to see JT paying tribute to Jansch and Renbourn-- two of the very best 'pop' & folk guitarists ever :).
Very good Josh. I have had the pleasure of seeing Bert, John and your good self perform over the years. Life has been better for it.
the twins are back at it
releasing a new video
show casing both of their talents
Excellent Josh 🎸🎸👏👏
Bravo Josh. Superbe réalisation pour le petit frenchy que je suis! So cool and nice, thank’s a lot 😅😅😅😅😅
Good to see Harry Potter playin' together ! Excellent !
Bert Jansch one of my fav guitar players. Be nice to hear some more of his stuff.
Mine too, I play many of his pieces, a very unique and well respected musician.
Very good Performance, great Sound
Love this. I still have the Bert & John 12” LP that I bought in 1966. Must get it out for a spin again…
Well! I cannot tell you how happy that makes me....Nicely done Sir!
Wow that was soooo nice!!!!
Nailed it Josh! And made an old man happy
Very clean. Good job. I love the stereo affect of left guitar on left channel and right guitar on right channel.
Gorgeous guitar playing as always! Thank you so much Josh!
There ya go 😃👍
Really nice tune and well done.
Great audio! You guys sound really good. Very cool!!
Great stuff Josh, very well played. I remember first hearing Bert and John back in the sixties and being blown away by them. Thanks for keeping their music alive. Now if you really want to test yourself, try playing Davy Graham's Tristano.
WOW! 😳
WoW! Thank you! Sending much Love to you & all your friends & fans.
Great Cinnci show, amazing cover! speed and fluidity soothing visually. What a treat, how short and sweet

That is awesome! Lightning is flawless and looks so natural having 2 of you on the same couch!

I love it! Thank you, Josh.
Smooth as always
Josh and his twin are getting better every day.
They are one talented guy!
I would love to have both of you guys playing, but It seems i can only pick one! ahahah Cheers! Keep it up! I'm a huge fan!
So good! I'll bet Jorma listens to you.
You ever read Yertle The Turtle? It's like that but Joshes all the way down with some sweet, sweet guitar.
East Wind next!
Love this!!
Loved it!
Great as usual!! Wish Josh would get onto some Duck Baker.........wide range of innovative arrangements that he would do justice to for sure!!
Great as usual
Nice playin.
what a timing...! crazy
❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are not only an brilliant guitarist but also have excellent taste. Have you thought of doing a rendition of Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. John and Bert did a brilliant version of the Thelonious Monk song
You guys play really well together. It's almost like you're twins or something.
I love it!
Would love to see you give this treatment to some of the duets that Renbourne and Stefan Grossman did together.
Love bert jansch!
Perfect opening credits instrumental
Gre… Gre; Great
You forgot to credit the other guitarist. Who are they? They play almost as good as you do!
I believe it is him twice
It's Tosh Jurner!
I knew Bert, not well. But he came to Denver with his girlfriend, who's also now passed, and we sat chatting with them after his gig in a local church with great acoustics. The mile high city altitude was playing havoc on his sinuses, but he still wanted to let off some fireworks for Guy Fox Day. But, alas, no fireworks could be found on December 5th in November.
Bert was a sweetheart of a guy, and you've captured well his famous riffs. He'd signed and gave me one of his bootleg CDs. And I thought it such a sad day when he died, leaving the world missing such a great talent and lovely human being.
@@aislingbooks Guy Fawkes day is the 5th of November, you're a month out in your recollection.
Jeezus, my mistake. Please forgive. Yes, I did mean 5 November. 🤭
Sweet!!!
excellent !
❤
those octaves on the left guitar had my ears thinking you were playing a 12-string.
clean as heck!
Reminds me of some early Al Stewart numbers. Probably indicative of where he learned his style, although to be fair they all kinda "grew up" together in the early 60's London folk scene.
😱 Los Paranoias
Immediately brought to mind Paul and Ed Simon playing "Anji" here on YT.
Awesome
Wow!!!!!!
Sounds great. We just say you and Allison at the Blue Strawberry last Saturday. It was fantastic.
You guys should hug.
