This is what I love about Josh and Carson: you never know what's going to show up in your subscription feed, but you know it's always going to be good.
If you notice he is not trying to fill in all the spaces during his solo. That is someone with skill and talent. It takes confidence to let it breathe. Great job guys I keep coming back to this video
I am stunned by the astounding virtuosity of Josh. A silly, if winning, song made memorable by his endless invention and absolute precision. The musicality is startling. Staggering.
They are both amazing. Carson voice is liquid gold and he plays a mean guitar. Josh is a guitar virtuoso with a very good voice. Together they make any song they perform sound as good or better than the original.
this made my day. my dad died when i was 12, and when i was a toddler, this was our song. we loved the jungle book and would listen to this song religiously. anytime this movie or song is mentioned, i think of him.
I think a lot of people did that! I think I was 5 or 6 and doing the same thing with my little record player. (that and Rolf Harris' Court of King Charactacus)
I used to play and sing that one for/with my daughter when she was little. One day she slipped and sang "forget about your worries and your wife". Needless to say I have sang it that way ever since. Nice job guys!!
Y'all need to look into making cds of covers such as this. There's a whole huge set of the population of all ages who'd gladly pay for compilations of your interpretations of classics, Swing-era tunes, and the like... just delightful. Keep it up!
@alcogm - I'm not sure whether songs are like published fiction, but if so, there'd be no royalties if we're talking about tunes written long ago. With fiction, a book or story goes to Public Domain 75 years after the author's death. Maybe all intellectual property is this way?
@@belascialoja4812 I know that with photographs, they don't go into the Public Domain until after 70 years, OR the life of the photographer, whichever is greater. Copyright law in certain areas can be be very confusing.
i mean, josh is an absolute freakish musical talent, but oh my god carson's voice is just ... touches the divine. what an awesome combo. but yeah the arrangements that josh comes up with are just so insane-- the world is just sleeping on that shit. and josh's voice is super lovely too. but let's not shortchange how incredible carson sounds. I LOVE THIS.
I am now a young 71 and have been playing, singing and entertaining since I was 15. Love to find gems like this...wonderful, thanks from an old hippie.
This brings back fond memories. I had never seen this movie as a kid, but in the 1980s I was a chauffeur, and I got to spend three days driving Phil Harris around Austin. During a break, I called my Dad to ask if he knew who this guy was, and he immediately broke into song, "Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette...."
I love it! Carson’s voice is better and better. I didn’t know he could croon like that! Killer jazzy solo by Josh. This performance is one of the bare necessities
Is there anything you two can’t do at at an astronomical level of excellence!? Absolutely wonderful rendition! Your voice, Carson, couldn’t get any better.
@@TheVeek192 I apologise. I was a little carried away. Django, only ever to be revered, was and remains a startling genius, his two fingers picking out a dazzling array of sudden tunes with extraordinary precision. My point, badly made, was rather that Josh possesses a similarly inventive technical ability allied to a no less extraordinary musicality. Meaning that I think he can legitimately be compared to Reinhardt. But where Django's life was never less than high-wire, bordering on the slightly crazed, Josh is eminently sane. Both should be applauded, of course. Django as Caravaggio, Josh as Gainsborough? You decide. Both wonders, however. And I hope we can agree on that.
Damnnn! I never stop being amazed at how smooth and really jaw droppingly good you guys are!! And one day I’ll get to say “I was a fan when they were just kids in their folks back yard singing Tennessee waltz... Thank you both for all the fantastic music. You guys and Reina and Toni are my favorite musicians. 😊
i’ve been singing this song under my breath for the past few years and have been made fun of because there is absolutely no reason for me to be so obsessed with this song. and now a cover, lol. love it
I'm cleaning up my room... Having a random playlist of Carson, Josh, the other favorites, Reina del cid, & Toni Lindgren, THEN THIS plays out of NO WHERE... I STOP.... And watch... FINALLY... some good O CHILDHOOD 😻 GLAD you guys got this to play! it brings back so many VHS memories 😹
Wow!!!! Fantastic song played by 2 fine young men with so much combined talent. You guys bring so much happiness to your viewers. You always lighten up all of our days when you make a new video, I Love listening to you both so much, thank you! Brad from Long Island
I dont't know where to leave this comment, so I'm just gonna leave it here, because I love this song and the perfomance. Reina (💕), Toni, Carson and Josh, you are so musical and talented, and make so many people happy with your music. Keep it up. You also inspire musicians like me, listening to what you're playing and getting ideas from it! Thanks again and stay healthy!
My mother used to play Tchavalo Schmitt CDs when I was a toddler and that finger picking has shot me right back to that time. Thanks for putting an enormous smile on my face. Cheers!
Your take is absolutely fabulous! I've must have listened to it a hundred times! It really transports me to other dimensions. All the best with you guys, dream big!
We needed one more Josh guitar break. Great job guys. I have to admit, I've watched the movie dozens of times and that's the 1st time I've been able to catch all the correct lyrics.
From the beginning all the way through I was smiling and tapping my toes!!! You both did a great job. Jungle Book is one of my favorite Disney movies!!
Whenever Josh and Carson get together you can count on everyone having a bang up good time. The tasty little gypsy solo (at :55) is a nice bonus. Django would approve.😉
Right back to my early childhood I just went. Bet I listened to the album a thousand times; my daughter grew up with it too, now she plays it for her little ones.
Oh Man. When I heard Angelina for the first time I knew I had heard that chord progression before but could not place it. Bingo! Very nice job gentlemen.
I think this is the only Cover of this song I have ever seen done. And It was AMAZING. Their personality flowed through the Vocals and the guitar playing was difficult but oh so precise. Very Difficult, but happy loving piece from my Childhood that brought many fond memories. Well done, and thanks for the journey back to my Childhood. Almost had forgotten about this song.
This came up on my "suggested" list and I almost skipped it. I'm so glad I didn't. I thoroughly enjoyed all of it: your voices, your guitar skills, and the sheer fun you had playing together. Thank you for sharing it with us.
This is what I love about Josh and Carson: you never know what's going to show up in your subscription feed, but you know it's always going to be good.

That solo was a serious shred
Josh's solo seems perfect. He totally nails the entrance to his singing part too. Excellent! Reminds me of Django :)
Learned your version on guitar just so I could play for my grandkids. Great job!
The solo is indeed very Django inspired!
This solo is nothing less than perfect.
I hear Texas Swing
The smile that Josh's face when he says "so just relax, yeah" is priceless. You can tell these guys have fun every time they pick up an instrument.
The solo was perfect

Whenever Josh breaks out that guitar, you know it’s gonna be fire lol
Something special about that One ;)
The solo is great. I can't wait to hear him when he's old enough to wear long pants!
Literally 🤣
That's his jazz manouche guitar.
YES THIS IS SO GOOD
i came from watching ur hidden in the sand video to this wtf
You guys are just dripping with Chet Atkins-style talent. Perfectly arranged and played and sung. You leave us in awe
Would love to hear a rendition of trambone
I’m in my 60’s and I still hope to one day play like you guys.
Me too!😆
agree
The guitar playing is always impressive, but Carson's voice is just stunning.
I've listened to this hundreds of times and I love it every single time. Wonderful. True music and talent.

This song never gets old.
I hit replay over and over just to hear that "killer solo" and see Josh's face light up!🙂

Over here in London we call the missis the 'trouble and strife'. Rhymes with wife. Cockney rhyming slang.

Django-style Bare Necessities... Respect. Every aspect of this cover is musically off the charts. And darn enjoyable.
