Petri 2.8 is a camera I've never heard of, nor have I come across the company that manufactured it until one of my family members gifted this rangefinder camera. In this video, I put a roll of Kodak Vision 3 250D through it and share some thoughts on the camera. While I don't think it'll be a regular on this channel or for my day to day stuff, it was interesting to shoot a 64 year old camera :) Hope you enjoy this one.

Sathya the camera you show in this video is not one of Petri's best efforts, but they did make a couple of good rangefinders in the late 60's. As far as cleaning up your camera you can buy a can of electronic contact cleaner and spray into the parts that require cleaning and try to avoid getting it up into the rangefinder glass area, and work/exercise the slow/sluggish parts until they move freely. The contact cleaner removes the stick film and age grime without leaving a residue, safe on the electronic parts and wiring. Cheers.

Petri also made some decent SLRs in the 60s and 70s.

Lovely job at this review, brother!! I actually love the shots the cam took - has a nice vintage feel. Produced, I guess, by the lens. Great work 🔥🔥

These photos are great! Really surprised. Looks like it was hard work to use, but it’s paid off though!

Mr. Peacock, it is often said life is made of many little moments which often converge to form a tapestry. This jaunt with this camera seems indescribably mundane. Is there a reason you are not using a certain German rangefinder or a TLR with a Xenotar or Sonnar lens ?

Haven’t had the need to buy a Leica or a Rolleiflex yet, but never say never!
As to ‘life is made of many little moments which often converge to form a tapestry’ - your point?

@@SathyaPeacock this video is not one of those moments. Rather it seems like an unravelling of the tapestry.
