As someone who has access to all platforms and being a og Xbox fan and Nintendo fan first I felt I never really cared for death stranding until I saw it for only 27$ on its 50% discount when it hit Xbox and I decided to give it a try, and what only feels like 15-20 hours in which I’m guessing is nothing I think just from this point the game is spectacular and hopefully will be in my top 10 of all time
I got it on PS5, SteamDeck and now Xbox, yet, this is the first time I've had time to actually play it and man, this game is amazing. I was just enjoying doing the deliveries, till my first boss battle. I was enjoying the calmness of it, often thinking (Man, I miss him making Metal Gears, till I unlocked the Handgun and they toss you in and intrusion like scenario. Amazing.
I got it the day it was released on xbox. I'm not 100% understanding the story but hoping the more I play the more it'll make sense but I'm absolutely loving it
I still haven’t left act 5 because I’ve just been building the roads, connecting zip-line networks, and getting 5 star connections. This game has me in a chokehold and I love it.
As a Sony diehard, I felt betrayed by the release (though it was will always going to happen) on XBOX.The PlayStation made Kojima, not the other way around. But it is a masterpiece, and for anyone playing it for the first time in XBOX. Good for you.
I remember when this game launched on PS4 and it was so mixed. I thought it was intriguing so I picked it up. I played through it and was not disappointed. The way others can put a bridge in place and it shows up in your world is so cool. I also just felt like this must have been how Louis and Clark felt trudging across the US for (sorta) the first time. Manifest destiny! We share their spirit!
Man, I am SO glad I didn't give up on this game early on. The first couple chapters felt like climbing a hill, but around chapter 3 or 4 I felt like it was a nice smooth sailing and got absolutely absorbed into the story. I would call this game a masterpiece, the ending even made me cry!
Played this when it came out. Got the collectors edition on launch day. I've only played through it once, but my god this game has such a massive impact. Calling it a video game is underselling it. It's an interactive piece of art, and an absolute masterpiece. Super hyped for the sequel. So glad more people get to experience this

you mean when you enjoy doing menial tasks over and over again with nothing much happening, only interrupted by pretentious stilted dialog and endless exposition dumps. No thanks. My attention is too precious to be wasted on this borefest ever again. Best thing about this game is the soundtrack. At least it was an Epic Games Store freebie and I didn't pay for it.

I only just started, i just got my first exo skeleton thing and I love the game. Doesn't feel dated at all it looks great! I'm resisting the urge to look up what this and that means for now I'm sure that Kojima will let me know what is needed when the time comes😂
It’s hard to believe I played through this masterpiece five years ago on a ps4 pro and it’s in my top three of last Gen games but just look at it, it’s utterly stunning and just wait till you see the later vista’s, they are still jaw dropping. Enjoy…. In the meantime, DS2 will be out in the next twelve months with any luck… I literally cannot wait.
I play the game to help all the people I don’t see. Zip-lines and roads is pretty much all I do. The harder it is to get to, the greater the chance I have made a way to get to it much easier
Im finally giving it a try, I had chatgpt on one side to answer anything that i didnt understand and it really helped me to get into the story, otherwise i was so lost as to whats happening lol
Started it last night. It looks amazing and, so far, plays beautifully. Although, only a couple of hours in, I'm not altogether sure what is going on 😂 Looking forward to what's ahead.
I am loving it so far on Xbox and the Decima engine...sheeesh. credit where it is due! Death Stranding sucked me in fully. The gameplay loops, the constant introduction of new tools, helping others and being helped..and yeah I LOVE the plot too. Makes a hell of a lot more sense than I thought it would, I just go with the weird
I was blown away when I fired it up for the very first time! It’s beautiful and truly feel’s like playable art! I tried to describe to my 19 year old son what happened in the first 2 hours and told him he just has to try it for himself! Kojima is such a visionary I’ve been playing his games since the PS1! I hope that Death Stranding 2 will eventually make its way to Xbox series S/X at some point! 🎉🏆🖼️🎨🎮
@@jeffcarrier9808 depends on the deal , may be a totally different deal with ds2 than ds1 , we don't know the details but I imagine part of the deal to kojima getting the IP back might include some exclusivity deal " you get the IP but under condition there's 6 months exclusivity for the next 2 titles etc" could be anything
@weplayvrgames I was thinking the same. Sony funded Death Stranding, Kojima bought the IP. Are Sony finding DS2 as well, if they are then maybe there's a exclusivity clause/deal for a period of time.
I just got the game yesterday, and I really like it, but I had to move one of my games on my internal drive to external. The two main games that I play mostly are on my internal drive, so in order to play the other game, I have to hurry up and complete death stranding. Sigh. The only thing I don't like about the game is all the cutscenes and the usual getting to know how to work everything and how to do everything. I seem to have problems picking up missions. I pick a mission up, accept it, and then it takes me to the fabrication page, so I'm thinking, okay, I have to fabricate something? So I fabricate something, and then it still doesn't let me accept the mission, and it keeps popping me back to the fabrication page, so I don't know🤔
@weplayvrgames yeah, I got the two terabyte external storage I have that on all three of my Xboxes but I never thought about the internal one actually until I went to play certain games that have to be on the internal😒

Exclusivity sucks. Glad after 5 years we get this masterpiece, because exclusivity contract between sony and kojima ended. Wish all PS exclusives will be available for Xbox.
PS5 exclusives they're not really worth it , I played some of them it's mostly short, lack diversity and limited to few things you can do in game world not like Fallout or starfield.
@@creamherI understand that Guerilla games deserves respect because they are one of the most talented developers out there but they would have never made the Decima engine back in 2013 without Sony’s funding.
Exclusivity is not always throwing money at devs to keep the game off other platforms. Sometimes Sony not only funds the game, they directly get involved with the development of the game like with Stellar blade.
I love roleplaying games like this. I grinded to unlock truck fabrication and I've had a blast just trekking back and forth to expand roads and drop off materials. Extremely addicting. Reminds me of how in RDR2 I collected all the satchels and camp upgrades first, in Ghost Recon Wild lands I unlocked the map and the Cartel family tree before diving in, this does the same for me.
I'm confused as to what boat in the middle of the ocean in the middle of America they took 😂😂. I could see if dude was up around Michigan and it was a great lake. Catching a boat and sailing the high seas in the middle of America 🤔😂.
DPD the Simulator. I loved this game and got the Platinum trophy on the PS4 when it came out on that. But I can totally understand why it's divisive; and this is coming from someone who laps up Kojima's weird mind usually. You have to accept the meta of the creativity and suspend your disbelief to properly enjoy this I think, and there's nothing wrong with that.
wonder if xbox series x would get a custom made console like how the Japanese PS4 Pro Death Stranding Edition had one designed by kojima with the cool looking white color with inky black finger prints & amber color LED light bar & the controller? wish i could get that PS4 pro console. maybe kojima will do the same with xbox series x but not sure if that will ever happen though. also hope that kojima get microsoft to design an xbox controller with motion controls, haptic vibration rumble functions, HD rumble like the joy cons, adaptive triggers, light bar, speakers, touch pad, better d-pad like the Japanese controllers, & built in mic for true immersive game play like how the PS5 does because it's not fair at all that Sony consoles get to have all the amazing game play features like that for this game & other Asian games. wish microsoft would hurry & make a controller like that so come on now microsoft/xbox & bring out the new "Sebile" xbox controller having all of these features already. please microsoft just do it already its long been about time for a new & different controller style of playing games
I played this game for about 3hrs and was so bored i uninstalled it and never played it again, i dont know if i should give it a try again......the whole walking though was boring as hell.
If you somehow shift your mindset from "its just a walking simulator" and actually take it seriously. I guarantee you'll have a good time. Planning, delivering, avoiding B.T's raiding Mule camps etc. Im an xbox player and bought a playstation 4 at the time to play Death stranding the uncharted series Spiderman, & the quantic dream games. Game saves break or don't work at all after a few hours or if you use quick resume. (Refunds are denied) For those that like it, likely released on xbox to lure you to playstation for part 2 that's out soon.
To be honest i think it would just make a better movie. I think the creativity and art style is amazing. Its just so void of action but its labeled action/adventure. Its a niche game. Not for me i couldn't finish it. I respect others opinions on it tho.
@joshramirez7 I haven't made it that far yet. I didn't wanna watch any reviews because I do like story driven games. Thanks for the info I'll progress more to see if I can get into it.
i think they struggled getting used to the decima engine, and it didnt take long. ds2 had like 5 years to cook with also staff knowing the engine, so will be alot better
There are bosses and more action overral after the first few hours, also unlock many new features, tools and devices of all kinds that make the gameplay loop much more sandbox and interesting, even addictive, and this is coming from someone who played it expecting to get bored xD
That's exactly what I was thinking. Especially since Norman reedus is the main character. Like it wanted to be a show/movie but turned it into a game. I have to be in the right mindset to play it, but it's not terrible

@@amnril can't wait for ds2 as well it's looking awesome hope it takes good advantage of the pro
I'll never get over seeing Sony interactive entertainment title screen booting up on my XBOX :)
Loving this game so far
Playing it on the steam deck and it’s great.
If you look at the background of how the game was made it makes you love it more.
did they remove the Playstation 3 mission from the Gamer client ?
I just bought the game. This is going to be my first playing the game. I am very excited!!
Started it last night. It looks amazing and, so far, plays beautifully. Although, only a couple of hours in, I'm not altogether sure what is going on 😂 Looking forward to what's ahead.
Will be there also a physical release of the game?
Good grammar 😂
Might Death Stranding 2 NOT be an exclusive at launch now that Kojima has ownership of the IP?
Id imagine it will be everywhere day 1
@@jeffcarrier9808 depends on the deal , may be a totally different deal with ds2 than ds1 , we don't know the details but I imagine part of the deal to kojima getting the IP back might include some exclusivity deal " you get the IP but under condition there's 6 months exclusivity for the next 2 titles etc" could be anything
So I fabricate something, and then it still doesn't let me accept the mission, and it keeps popping me back to the fabrication page, so I don't know🤔
@@babygrizwold sounds like you need more storage , shame Xbox storage is overpriced and proprietary
@weplayvrgames yeah, I got the two terabyte external storage I have that on all three of my Xboxes but I never thought about the internal one actually until I went to play certain games that have to be on the internal😒
Is this cross platform? I've heard yes but in what capacity? Can you play the story with a friend essentially?
What? When was this game put on Xbox?
It stealth dropped last week 😅
And I think it's still 50% off
@@HaroldAceveda shadow dropped no marketing not sure why you think they would wanna advertise a quality game going to Xbox , but doesn't feed into they gamepass numbers so guess they don't really care
3:43 Holy crap, is that Junji Ito?
Amazing game and I can't wait to play it again
I'm loving this on my series s
Really enjoying it!
Absolutely. Absolutely love it.
Just downloaded it for 20 bucks which didnt sound bad. Hope i like it. It doesnt really look like my kind of game but im willing to give it a try.
Glad to see the "walking simulator" labele slowly being taken away from this game.
Its more special than that.
Looking forward to DS2
I’ll save you sometime
The answer is yes
Exclusivity sucks. Glad after 5 years we get this masterpiece, because exclusivity contract between sony and kojima ended. Wish all PS exclusives will be available for Xbox.
Ur actually an Ee dee yet, Sony owned the ip and if they hadn’t sold it back it wouldn’t be on Xbox
PS5 exclusives they're not really worth it , I played some of them it's mostly short, lack diversity and limited to few things you can do in game world not like Fallout or starfield.
It wasn’t just a exclusivity deal, Sony funded the game and it uses Sony’s Decima engine.
Love this game. On both platforms.
This is the ultimate walking simulator
Running simulator 😂
A very small update just happened earlier I'm not sure what it was probably UI maybe it was a very small update megabytes
Probably the quick resume fix
My favorite game. It not for everyone but it’s just right for me.
I loved it. Can’t wait to play it again, since I know what the game is about.
I'm confused as to what boat in the middle of the ocean in the middle of America they took 😂😂. I could see if dude was up around Michigan and it was a great lake. Catching a boat and sailing the high seas in the middle of America 🤔😂.
Should get alot more Kojima stuff coming to xbox soon👍🏻😁👍🏻
People who truly enjoy Death Stranding, probably read books! - one of the best narrative stories ever!
"Not for everyone" the game. Tried 5 times to play this, cannot get past 10 minutes.
Just played this game last night. All I could think of is Kojima definitely does acid. I always think that when playing a Kojima game.
Is that save bug fixed?😂
Which save bug?
@@tablettablete186 if you quick resume the title can no longer save
@@weplayvrgames Oh, that one. Thanks.
Yes, patched a couple of days ago, played last night and tested it
wonder if xbox series x would get a custom made console like how the Japanese PS4 Pro Death Stranding Edition had one designed by kojima with the cool looking white color with inky black finger prints & amber color LED light bar & the controller? wish i could get that PS4 pro console. maybe kojima will do the same with xbox series x but not sure if that will ever happen though. also hope that kojima get microsoft to design an xbox controller with motion controls, haptic vibration rumble functions, HD rumble like the joy cons, adaptive triggers, light bar, speakers, touch pad, better d-pad like the Japanese controllers, & built in mic for true immersive game play like how the PS5 does because it's not fair at all that Sony consoles get to have all the amazing game play features like that for this game & other Asian games. wish microsoft would hurry & make a controller like that so come on now microsoft/xbox & bring out the new "Sebile" xbox controller having all of these features already. please microsoft just do it already its long been about time for a new & different controller style of playing games
Imagine working a long shift as a delivery guy, only to go home to play death stranding at home
I played this game for about 3hrs and was so bored i uninstalled it and never played it again, i dont know if i should give it a try again......the whole walking though was boring as hell.
Great Game. Love Xbox
Would y’all say this is like Mud/Snow Runner games but you’re walking instead?
Awesome realistic look and physics.... But if you're looking for an action-packed game like metal gear solid you're going to be disappointed.
Such a unique game I loved it
Death stranding is a game
If you somehow shift your mindset from "its just a walking simulator" and actually take it seriously. I guarantee you'll have a good time.
Planning, delivering, avoiding B.T's raiding Mule camps etc.
Im an xbox player and bought a playstation 4 at the time to play Death stranding the uncharted series Spiderman, & the quantic dream games. After selling my playstation after playing them all, i regretted it.
I'm so glad i get to play this gem again.
'Keep on, keeping on!'
@@steffanjarvis1 so you got rid of the console that was delivering on the games you enjoyed......seems abit odd especially for a system that seems more focused on feeding you ads and pushing you to subscribe to an anti consumer rental service......odd choice
Wasted 7 hours on this game. Graphics are great, but the game play felt so boring and repetitive.
Why wouldn't it be worth playing in 2024? A good game doesn't just stop being a good game because it ages.
delicious bullshit LMAO
yea that's kojima in a nutshell
All of the above of what he said in the video. I wanted to like this game sooo bad but I just can't. Death Stranding looks beautiful but I couldn't get past 20 mins lack of action and I refuse to torture myself again. Definitely not for me.
i enjoyed it alot its very relaxing also like sleep gassing my enemys
Not going to lie bought it for the price. At first I though it was to be a boredom simulator. Now im just killing mules and motocross ing all around flinging poo grenades 35 hours in
Buy the game nowwww. It's amazing, I recommend the director cut
at first it was boring but gawd. just play it and you will even cry along the way.
Game saves break or don't work at all after a few hours or if you use quick resume. (Refunds are denied)
For those that like it, likely released on xbox to lure you to playstation for part 2 that's out soon.
To be honest i think it would just make a better movie. I think the creativity and art style is amazing. Its just so void of action but its labeled action/adventure. Its a niche game. Not for me i couldn't finish it. I respect others opinions on it tho.
How far did you get into it? Past Lake Town? The action and progression really steps up as you move along.
Idk sounds like work
A walking simulator on Xbox before GTA 6 is crazy
Ironically im rarely walking. I spend my time hunting bts.
Let me save you 8 mins, the answer is yes even if you regret it.
If Death Stranding taught us anything, it’s about the journey, innit? - Craig
Kinda liked the setting looks wise, but it looked boring as hell
Starts slow soon picks up when you get to the main map area and you start accessing alot of different equipment
@@weplayvrgames The progression in the game makes it well worth while.
It wasn't worth playing at release ffs
So this is basically a semi horror mailman game meets sim city builder lol got it no thanks
