Thank man watched this yesterday , tried this out this mooring for the 1st time in 40 deg water up here in ct. Got smoked by a 2lb smallie , was pumped thank you. Was the only bite of the day .
I've been doing this for years, but not realizing it. I've just been frugal by reusing my old stickbaits! lol The weed guard tip is priceless! I've always trimmed down, but never thinned! Can't wait to try! Love the content, and Huge Congrats on this past years successes!!!
Power Fishing a finesse bait. Love the idea and going to try this. This might be good on a swinging jig head also allowing that stick-bait to float like a heavier swinging Ned Jig.
Dude. I’ve been doing this for 2 years now. I caught quite a few fish on it at pressured fisheries. I also caught my PB largemouth on it at that same lake.
Mike, I'm gonna give this a try this week. My jigs always have a small chunk this time of year and, my Ned's are TRD's so, this will be something different.
This is cool Mike. I see all of the custom things you did to that jig like cutting the skirt and trimming the weed guard. Maybe design a jig with those adjustments specifically just for this type of jig fishing. Could be a new Mike Iaconelli jig winner. 💰 👍 Don’t forget me Ikemaster when you go big with this idea 😂👍 I even think the flute worm might be a better trailer with more motion at a dead stop.
@@pondparadisedesignsinc.rob5313 I didn't watch that long. I tie my own skirted ned jigs, but the missile micro jig has a weed guard that you have to glue in yourself, and you can customize any skirt length with a pair of scissors.
@@pondparadisedesignsinc.rob5313 They don't make the modifications because it would add to the cost (imagine the process to trim 10,000 jigs at a time). Also, it adds manufacturing cost if you make some of these jigs with the trimmed components, and some without. I keep some jigs trimmed and some not, because sometimes you want the full skirt, sometimes you don't, and same with a weedguard.
Plastic worms actually looks and move like a baitfish in the water. So they have a subjective profile, they can look like any forage with the right presentation and cadence. When you run out of content, just combine old presentations. They all works. Over 25 years ago, I used to catch bass on skirted jig with no trailers throwing it in literally heavy weeds and pockets during hot summer months, when the internet wasn't a thing and the only place you could buy lures was your local mom and pop bait shop.
I wish there'd be less focus on forward facing these days it's almost like you're telling me I won't be successful with this technique without a forward facing sonar which is hard to believe
Yeah, it's getting ridiculous! Or has gotten ridiculous! J. Wheelers last video a day or so ago was even talking about it. His new spunk Shad style bait he done with Rapala "crush city" that he won on Guntersville with he even stops and says if you're only using this tech with FFS you're losing out and you're being stupid really. Kinda caught me off guard. I've heard of a couple other pros saying similar things bc their social media channels were losing traffic and traction bc they'd spent so much time on video game fishing. However, it's kinda to the point that if you don't have mega live AND panoptix or other combos you don't stand a chance even on a Tuesday nighter. Several clubs have banned during club derbies. Wish it would be restricted or governed in some way during tournaments at least
The real secret is how to get the fish excited, not the fisherman. Still useful information for beginner fisherman and people that like tweeking lures.

Very good. Thanks for sharing the excellent information. Take care.
Been making these for a few years. Its definitely productive in the right scenarios.

Lol I do the same! I think that's where alot of killer techniques are formed from
Thanks for the tip. I love jig fishing but havent tried this set up.
I was doing this for a while now. I invented this for myself lol. Cool to see you make a video about this!
I'm looking forward to trying this. Thanks for the info. Enjoy the time off, and good luck this year.

Great video thanks for all your tips

IKE great looking bait. Thanks for sharing great video 📹. Happy Thanksgiving 😊
Some great info thank
You Ike
Ike, congrats on the HOF induction. KVD: "welcome to the community" 😂
I have micro jigs with a ned head on it that I've yet to try. Gotta be a good concept.
Great tips, man !!!
This is a killer technique in summer. I throw it on a finesse jig like the dirty jigs finesse jig with a ned rig bait. It gets munched!

He has these. It's from missile baits, the Ike jigs.
OK Missile bait jigs got it, but are they custom designed like he did in the video?

Hey Mike, have you done a video on bank fishing techniques? I mean fishing from the bank without a boat.
Mikey awesome stuff, this would probably kill deep lake smallies too, what do you think 🤔

Happy Turkey day boss. Chartreuse tip worm?
Now how about a hand tied rabbit or fox hair jig instead of silicone/rubber?
Aquí esperando como Sonic
Can you do that with a football
Shhh it was a good secret while it lasted lol

You people just need to stop already omg the world changes and it’s here to stay , deal with it you dam whiners . So ridiculous already
Yup. I've noticed the same thing on other channels as well.

You don't need live to fish this jig I promise

Why use a skirt. Works for me.
Nooooo! Best kept secret just got exposed!
That missle micro jig weed guard is complete trash mike ! Falls out as soon as you take it out of the package.
impossible to listen....too much high pitch....ouch
