It is important to put into perspective that India had been a continuous thriving civilization for atleast the past 10,000 years. It was just in the last 1000 years that we started to fight among ourselves which allowed the external forces to take control. We won way more than we ever lost.

that's not correct! we had our internal fights Guptas and Mauryas and Cholas all expanding their kingdoms that came with wars. Ashok's kalinga war is famous and lot more this all happened before 1000 AD. Even to if u belief Mahabharat is just an Epic and not real history yet it does depict war between kingdoms to be a very common things in ancient india. It doesnt take anything away from our glorious history but it is wrong to turn a blind eye towards our faults.

The real difference was the Universities that came up in Europe. Cambridge and Oxford. The intellectuals contributed in all fields including in warfare. Braitain's rise as a power is directly linked to the Universities that cropped up there. America's rise also corresponds to the Universities. India was once a great power because of Nalanda and Taxashila Universities in India which were the best at that time. Universities act as the back office of powerful dynasties. India should concentrate on building world class Universities if it has to regain it's place as a world power.

Before watching this video, I hope there is mention of Anglo - Maratha battles pre 1857. Otherwise, such videos just try to show us Indians were fools.
    Battle of Wadgaon
    Battle of Laswari
    Battle of Assaye
    Battle of Delhi
    Battle of Maharajapura & Punniar
    Coastal battles of Angres
Assaye was hailed by Duke of Wellington as the fiercest battle ever, even ranking it above Napolean war.
The British even mu*dered 21 year old Kolhapur Chhatrapati Shivaji IV by 'Boot and the spleen' technique.
Not mentioning these battles make it look like India handed over control of this country without a fight. It is a great disrespect to all those sacrifices.
Freedom fighters took inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji's struggle. Chhatrapati Shivaji was already skeptical about intentions of the Europeans. It is well documented in Adnyapatra.

British weren't the first European power to establish dominance over large portion of South Asia. About 2000 years prior to them, Greeks under Alexander had reached upto Punjab, eventhough he couldn't venture forward. His successors although, ruled large chunks of India for upto 300 years. Most notable of them was Meanander(Sanskrit: Milind) who was loved by his subjects.
The difference between Greeks and British was that, Greeks actually settled and mixed with Indians, adopted the religion and spoke the language. Like Indo-Greeks were really a thing. But British, just looted and went. No cultural exchange of any sort(other than butter chicken lol)

Correction: Not 'large chunks'. Parts of present day Pakistan-Afghanistan. The rule was established not by military force but through marriage alliances. The Greeks had realised they can't fight the Mauryas and hence decided the softer ways of diplomatic relations.

There is a very subtle or very noticeable western thought on that video rather than an objetive look at colonialisation.
For eg. He talks about the battles between Indian kingdoms and the incoming European companies/capitalists as same. Indian armies and royals always followed rules of war etiquette. They will always choose a date time and place away from civilization and during day etc and always a mark of excellence and showcase of bravery. Even poets sat along sidelines to compose poems to record such battles as history.
Europeans however had no qualms to bomb and ravage civilian homes and cities where families live and thrive. It is something absolutely vile in world history that the europeans exported everywhere. They will taste their own medicine during the world wars but they have not learned from this.
