Such a great video, and I as well watch(ed) a few of your videos, a great idea for a video, at least that I would love to see is, comparing Vancouver to a small town like Sault St. Marie. or any small town or city. then in addition to the cost of the house and what that includes, maybe show some pros and cons of living in a small town vs a large city. Sure Vancouver is expensive and Toronto. But we are paying for the location as well. Stores and malls, public transit, steps away from anything you want. Where as in a small town, you get a big house and good size piece of land, but how much driving does one so, to get to the grocery store, or even better what kind of jobs are there. But anyways great video. Keep these up, I love them
@@HarmonieV thanks for the reply. Always good to have more feedback. I loved your video that you did a while back. Of living on 65 k in Vancouver. But this is equally great. I just like comparing cities and towns to the job market and income levels each area offers. For me a city makes more sense. Because I Cook for a living. My income is directly effected by how many ppl I feed. In a small town. Your populations are smaller. Which means less money for the dining establishment. Which then results in a Cook making sub par wages. Where as in Vancouver or Toronto or even in kelowna where I live. There are much more options for work and better pay. So again thanks for the video.
i'm thinking of moving to vancouver (not necessary downtown) after visiting from montreal 2 weeks ago. i just fell in love! but i want to live alone and i have 3 cats. and the rent prices between the 2 cities are SO different. i pay $715 for my small 2 bedroom apartment in montreal (a 10-15 minutes bus ride to downtown). in vancouver it's AT LEAST double that for a small studio. anywayyy. thank you for your awesome videos! i've been watching a lot of them recently and it's quite encouraging :)
Hey, i know the price difference is insane! My partner is from Montreal originally, but he definitely doesn't regret his decision & I'm sure you wouldn't either! One thing to keep in mind is that pet friendly places can be really hard to come by (which is a shame!). But best of luck with your possible move :) Let me know if you have any questions before you make the shift!
I live in Edmonton and me and my roommate pay 1200 a month with cable internet and free parking and dishwasher and laundry in the apartment 750 square feet i wanna move to Vancouver but the price difference compared to Alberta 😭😭😭😭
There are more affordable options, our place is just hella expensive because we're right next to downtown & on the water. but in some of the surrounding areas you can probably find a decent place for like $1200-$1500 :) Don't let it discourage you!
@@user-ro2te2gk5m sorry to burst the bubble but no. If you're talking a proper apartment then no. You can find a basement suite for 12-1500$. Most 1 bed apartments go for absolute minimum 1400$ in the general area and 1600$ + downtown.
Loved this video! We just sold our house in a hamlet next to the City of Edmonton in AB to rent a nice apartment in a central part of the city! Like you mention in your video we realized our lifestyle doesn’t fit owning/maintaining a home and the small town vibe. Next steps are to move to Van or Vic sometime this Spring! 🤩
Ouhhh that sounds lovely, BC is amazing at that time of year :) Best of luck with the move, I hope you guys find the right place that fits with your lifestyle 🙌🏼
Great video, definitely interesting to see various options available around! Keep up the good work Harmonie

Hi Harmonie! Hey what’s the webpage or tool you use around min 6:50 to calculate numbers on the mortgage? Thanks!!
Great question! It's called Rate Hub! I don't know the exact URL but if you google "Rate hub mortgage calculator" it should pop up :)
@@HarmonieV Got it! Thanks so much. Looking fwd to the next videos!!
