@conorbutkovic do you know if you can work on a file remotely without needing to download it? If I want to work on a photoshop file remotely, I want to be able to access and save the file just as if I am working off the local storage on my laptop. I want to be able to click save as I am working, and it saves all the changes to the NAS. Or would I have to download the file to the my laptop, work on it, then I would have tp re-upload it back onto the NAS?
Also, can you mirror with this NAS? I would love to be able to use the first 4 slots as my working storage, and use the last 2 slots to mirror the other 4 drives.

Okay so I have been looking into this as well. From what I understand it is possible to have it being a "working drive" even when you aren't home. The problem is that this has more to do with your networking capabilities rather then the NAS. You need to set up your network on your Mac/PC to make it seem like you are home rather than a remote location... static IP or a VPN kinda thing. I don't know enough about networking to get it all to work so I can't say. But it is possible and basically the same experience as any other NAS on the market
In terms of the mirroring I think you would just need to choose the best RAID type for your needs to create that redundancy. I have a RAID 5 setup which gives me roughly 3 working drives and one backup in my 4 bay NAS
