- Here's how you can color-grade your footage to emulate film in Davinci Resolve. For this video, I use the Studio version (i.e., the paid version!!) of Davinci Resolve, but there are other ways to achieve a similar look in the free version - let me know if this is something you'd be interested in :)

Edits:
This works on the free version of Davinci if you disable the "Grain" node! Grain is one of the paid features of Davinci :)

Delivering on exactly what the world needed
Gotchuuu
Love this style. New to Davinci and this has helped so much.
Also love the aspect ratio, feels like everything is easier to focus on whilst giving it a unique aesthetic to tutorials.
Dude, I think I learned more from this video than any others I've watched. You've broken it all down in an easy way for me to remember. Thanks!
Okay wow. This was an amazing tutorial. I can not believe how much I just learned from you in 13 minutes. I've been using Davinci for about 6 months now, and out of all the videos I have watched on the color part of it, none have taught me the node structure in a way I understood it. THANK YOU for making this!
Thank you so much this means a lot
Thank you so much for a clear calming tutorial/guide! Been searching for something like this, extremely helpful!

heeey this is so helpful! Thank you for sharing this! Sending lots of love and respect from Japan!
Possibly my favourite tutorial video. really.. I've watched a ton of film editing videos and this is by far the most enjoyable and I like how you didn't glaze over something which may be obvious to seasoned editors (ie the nodes working as layers etc). Subscribed from this one video. Keep it up bro
Also CinePrint16 looks like a great recommendation! Look forward to watching your other videos and following you on your journey as I go down a similar path
@@JoshMandella Thank you so much! Glad I can help

So instructive, thank you Daiki!! 🫶🏼
Glad it helps, thank you!!
Gosh, this tutorial is by far the most comprehensive yet in trying to really understand how it works. Love it. As a matter of suggestion, maybe you can make this into a series and work on different kinds of clips? e.g low light videos such as at night, different temperature/vibes etc? nevertheless keep it up mate!
Thank you so much, so glad it helps. I can definitely do that!
thank you so much! this is very helpful for me

Thank you for this!! Coming from someone who also does film as a hobby, I really appreciated that you covered just the basics and gave a simplified (but still comprehensive) explanation. I was getting so overwhelmed watching other tutorials but you made it really simple and easy to understand. Great work!
I'm so glad it helped!
Thank you for this! This video is beyond helpful!
You're the most welcome!
This is such a nice tutorial!
As a beginner to Davinci, I see no reason to not subscribe to this channel. Great content, well explained. Keep making such videos.
Thank you! I look forward to making more tutorials to share my journey learning!
man, i really wish this wasn't a cineprint tutorial. I loved the way the video began, and I wanted to stick around for the whole thing, but now I think if I'm not purchasing this colourgrade, I won't really get much out of the video. Please make a tutorial for DaVinci itself, I'd LOVE to see it.
Coming soon!
Your colour grading is your inocent heart
Thanks!
This is an amazing tutorial I actually i’m in absolute awe.
If you don’t mind, could you please make a video on how to do this all on the free version?
thank you for this - amazing content.
Thank you so much! Please make more tutorials like these
More coming up

This was very helpful man thank you!
Glad it helped :)
Another way (better?) to organize is to use pre and post clip groups. There is good instruction on how to do this in Tom’s V2 manual.
People don’t use groups enough!
That's so true! Thanks for sharing 🙏
this is so freaking helpful thank you so much
Glad I can help!
We need more like this bro
Thank you! What else would you like to see?
Love the video! It's so informative compared to the other ones out there! One quick question, is it necessary to colour correct the log footage first with a conversion lut before applying the cineprint 16 for colour grading?
Just subscribed brother! What a great and informative video! Loved it!
Thanks for the sub!
thank you for this! 🙌
Glad it helps!
the best tutorial I’ve ever seen. But the one thing that i didn’t understand about davinci resolve why the nodes before the CST node become desaturated?
this video helped alot! thank you🙌
Glad I can help!
What a great video!
This was probably the best Resolve basics tutorial I have ever come across specifically with cineprint16. I am watching this in preparation for the second hand Sony a7iii I just picked up and will be shooting some video in Japan next month. My question is this Daiki: I've read online that with the a7iii specifically and its 8bit limitations, it is best to shoot video in h-log3 vs s-log due to the 8bit limitations. But, I also see everyone CST at rec709 for their videos when loading them up into Resolve. With that being said, should I be shooting my videos on my a7iii in Rec709 since it has that color profile? Or would I be losing out on details vs if I were to shoot in h-log3 and then import and then transform my footage into rec709 whilst layering on the Cineprint16?!
Hopefully my question makes sense and again thank you again for such a great breakdown for the basics of grading with Resolve+Cineprint16!!
Great video dude! Needed this
Cheers!
used this on my cover of charlieonafriday on my page if anyone wants to see how it looks!! I love the way it turned out but fair warning gotta make sure you have the dynamic range when shooting to use this plug-in
Can you do an example of grading similar to Wes Andersons new Asteroid city movie. WIth the low contrast and pastels? Also great tutorial, very good pace and you explain thoroughly.
I can try!!
absolute king 👑
also, love the raspy voice. oozes sexiness.

Thank you so much
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. May I know which node I should use for skin tone correction?
🤜🏽💥🤛🏿 Great job bro. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
Hi Daiki,
Thanks for making this video! At 5:05 you're clicking on the "Effects" tab, and after that on the "Settings" tab. When I do these steps the word "Settings" is grayed out and I can't click it. Do you know how to fix this?
Maybe it has do do with the fact that I do not own the DR Studio version. What do you think?
Kind regards, Thomas
Really good man!
Cheers!
It is very thorough for someone who is doing this as a hobby. You should watch out your subtitles @7:27, i am pretty sure that is a mispelled word :') Keep on, great content
Thank you so much! Yep saw that hahahahhahah whoops
So the first step of your tutorial is buy a $50 LUT?
