    Learned so much, ty for getting into some of the history here. Had NO idea how recent abortion was legalized there (2019 is crazy). As a US citizen and child of the 80s who had a teen abortion in the 90s - that perspective shift is wild. To think of how many women’s lives have been impacted there, trajectories shifted…and the regression soon to come here 😢
    Bc of Trump….I was just searching for historical reference points on the militarization of police globally and somehow went down a rabbit hole on the history of Northern Ireland, which is how I ended up here. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I sometimes forget how much religion is still influencing government, I think the matter of abortion and how divisive it is is particularly linked to countries who were or are inherently religious. I also think in the timeline of abortion rights you also need to remember how recent women were able to access health care without a husband or parent present, or access contraception. We are such a short journey onto women's rights really
