    I would recommend a thermal printer to print out your labels, save money on ink and paper. always a ton of them on the marketplace. Also charge for shipping on top at full price, with the discount you profit on postage. I sell my stuff at the same price as comps do that offer free shipping but add the shipping ontop

    I have a couple of questions that I have not been able to find the answers to. 1. How can I estimate the postage on eBay if I don't know where it will be mailed? I hear it can cost more the further the city is from me. I won't know where to mail it until I sell the product. 2. If someone buys multiple items at once, how do I correct the postage for multiple items? Thanks.

      @TheAussieFlipper I've noticed that Australia Post charge extra for using your own packaging/boxes. For example, $10.60 for their packaging to $14.50 for your own. How do you get around that or is that what you're coping as well? Cheers.

    I would personally buy a huge roll of void fill and stay well clear of bubble wrap! Foam rolls are so much better and more protecting! I’d recommend EVRI as a courier, you don’t need to worry about all this measuring parcels etc and it’s incredibly cheap!

    I have a question that I can’t find an answer to in your videos: I often work away for a couple weeks and I can’t figure out how I’m going to post the items I sell if it’s purchased whilst I’m on site. How can I communicate succinctly - either within the listing or directly to the purchaser - that the item won’t ship until I’m back? I know listings can be scheduled but I’m not sure that helps. Any help would be appreciated.

    • @TheAussieFlipper
      @TheAussieFlipper  9 месяцев назад +1

      You either go on time away mode or set your postage time to 7+ days or whatever it needs to be. Both will limited the number of sales you generate though unfortunately. I’d try train a friend or family member to do the post for you while you’re away to make it look like you never left

    Hi. I'm in Melb. Do you have any videos that helps us newbies makes sense of understanding and selecting AU standard services within the ebay calculator (as at Dec 23) And especially now Aust post rates have increased and there are other services such as Sendle in the market? I'm trying to sell a single book that weighs 1505kg and is approx 22cmW x 28cmL and 3cm thick and wondering the best way to go about it. Free or buyer pays shipping etc. I understand that ebay calculates fees based on the combined cost of shipping and sale and would like to create some sort of spreadsheet to at least estimate a reasonable sale cost based on previous sales, but also the possible cost of shipping. If you choose to post with 'free' shipping, what is the best way to set up postage for domestic items and keep a handle on sale/profit costs. Hope you can assist and make sense of this. Possibly I'm mixing up a few things. Aust post and ebay websites are not the easiest to navigate. Sorry for the long winded post. Thanks. Andrew

      Hello, if your offering free postage you raise the price too accommodate the cost of postage.....you drop the price if the buyer pays ....I hope this was helpful

  • @MJB_9292
    @MJB_9292 11 месяцев назад

    Maybe a dumb question but does postage go into your account then deducted or how does that work?
    Say for example i sell an item for $20 + $10 shipping, does $30 go into my account then shipping is deducted once i print the label etc or does Ebay deal with that all and only $20 goes into my account and i just drop it off at the post office?
    Because what if i also put up the wrong shipping if I'm unsure what it will cost, say i put up the $10 shipping or calculated shipping and postage actually ends up cheaper or more expensive than that?
    Is Australia post standard parcel a better option to use than just Standard parcel delivery and choosing your own postage price price? Because the Australia post one which says it includes tracking etc is always $10.60 for calculated shipping for a satchel up to 500g when i want to just sell a single playstation game for example. Is that right.. cause im not sure how much to put for postage for the flat rate option.
    Or should i charge $10 extra for my item and offer free postage?
    Sorry if thats confusing 😅

    • @TheAussieFlipper
      @TheAussieFlipper  11 месяцев назад +1

      You get paid out postage and sale price after fees. From there you still have to pay postage costs when you fulfil the orders so it’s not all your money just yet. That’s why keeping books on your numbers is important

      I’m from the UK and I can’t believe how complicated and expensive Australian post is! It’s cost Matt more to ship some dvds than it has for me to send a 15Kg parcel to the states, it was also insured upto £300. To produce labels here we just make payment and scan a QR code at the shop and labels are printed for you.
