Hey man, PLEASE do a video on the tax and how you claim it. Do you keep receipts? Do you claim postage? This is one thing everyone you inspire thinks about. And no ebay youtuber talk about it. People need to know and you're our guy!
I dont think you can claim postage on tax.. it would be great if you could though.
@@seatonbuck yeah , you can, it's a business expense.
@@stanstanley when’s the next tax return due?
Of course you can claim postage. It's a cost of the business. You can also claim fuel travelling around sourcing items to sell. The cost of the items you sell. Plus lots more. There is heaps you can claim
I hear you mate - best to speak to an accountant though! They're they people you want to be listening too
Hey Matt, will you make any longer form vlogs on the day to day of your business as you did towards the end of last year? I really enjoyed the content, but thanks for the videos you do put up.
I can bring those back if that's what you'd like to see
Awesome series mate, keep it up! Has helped me immensely in my first 3/4 weeks of getting setup. Cheers!
So pleased to hear it mate! That’s epic!
thank you for this i thought i knew what 'sell through' rate was but now i finally understand what it means! 😂
Agh that’s awesome to hear! Thanks for watching
Those 3 accounts are doing phenomenal
Hey, nice pick up with the Hit & Run. Just flag that Eye Toy Play 3 is only worth a few bucks. Worth slightly more if it has the camera.
Yeh
Terrific video mate. Keep it up!
thanks so much for watching mate!
Great scores !! Do you ever look for the NTSC on the CD's for playstation 1 games ??? It's rare to find but only once years ago I found 30 games for $1 each and they where around $800 in value
I find most of the opshops are on to the games and dvd the prices are crazy. I have been in 12 shops in the last 3 days got some good ones but I have worked for it.
I hear! It’s tough out there!
Hey matt, love the videos. Do you have an information video on how you do tax returns with your ebay business? Ive been to a few op shops that dont give receipts for items, making it hard to claim on tax as inventory expenses. Any tips?
I'd love to know this too as I transition from a hobby to a part time business
You need to have a paper trail. Write down how much cash you withdrew and how much you spent
14 days down 76 to go 😬
Hi Matt . Great video. I have a question. How do you calculate shipping for international sales? I only ship in Australia and want to go global.
Using the eBay calculated method is easiest. eBay changes the buyer the correct price based on location they're in
Have you got a tip shop nearby? its seriously worth the trip if you have one thats priced well.
i do! will need to give it another go
I found the simpsons hit and run at a garage sale on the weekend! Just sold it last night. Cost me $8. Finding it for $3, you lucky duck
free money!
Another great vid for info ! I gotta ask is it better to up the price and off free postage or keep to general price and have the 10.95 postage ? Only a week and abit in looking to book one on one when im month in!
Hey mate I’d say free postage. I’ve done it for 4 years and it’s worked well. Can explain further on the call 📞
@@TheAussieFlipper awesome thankyou !
Hello, love watching your videos, just wondering in terms of sell through rate, do you have like a minimum sell through rate you'd go for? or do you just go off 100%+ sell through rate to be sure the item will sell? thanks : )
The higher the better but it also comes down to what’s in front of you too. Opportunity to source stock is different for everyone. If you’re doing it full time maybe you’ve got a little more space and can take a slower sell through rate item knowing it’ll sit for a bit. The most important thing is to be aware of that step in the purchase process. If your part time I’d focus on higher sell through only
@@TheAussieFlipper thanks for the response 👌 I'm just starting reselling and I think I want to concentrate on high sell through rate items for now to get my store up and running and binge watching all your videos lol, cheers 😀
I appreciate you man, good luck!@@edd1473
These videos are really helpful Matt. What weighing scales do you use to get the weight of items for shipping..
Use Todo battery scales - never had a problem. Cheap. An excellent USA reseller uses them too. I've bought some other scales and they die in the you no what quick.
Thanks I will have a look. But I would like electric ones
@@leepearce3148these ones do have a power supply on mine as well. They are bang on in weight for Aus Post scales. Cheers
super basic kitchen scales for me. Any brand will do. nothing fancy
Thanks Matt, I will have a look im the same I don't want to pay a lot for them just basic electric or none battery ones, I'm just looking round for item to buy atm before I take the plunge and start selling on ebay, I got a few things but nothing special just to get the feel and knowledge of selling on ebay.. your videos are really helpful thank you 👍
My local vinnies in Sydney has $8 seasons as the CHEAPEST option for tv shows.
Oh god!
My local salvos does this, too. Dvds have been sitting there for over a year
And books are even worse at vinnies
My local vinnies now charges $4 for single disc DVDs it's becoming a joke.
Just grab a whole heap of the best complete sets you can and then talk to the worker at the counter. Most of the time I find that they also think it's absurdly priced, and they'll settle on doing $3-4 a DVD. This is how I've picked up a lot of complete sets that everyone else is just ignoring because the sticker price makes it unjustifiable.
Any chance of you and Courtney doing some mad eats vids around the GC?
That’d be cool
Brother, chuck shipping on… don’t be scared, people don’t care, they see an item, want the item, buy the item. Just give it a crack.
Nah that’s not how I rollll man
Do you still go to Carera markets on the weekends for stock?
Always
@@TheAussieFlipper nice we’ll I’m going there for the first time so wish me luck
@@TheAussieFlipper thanks for the photo
great to meet you mate!@@zetenyferenczi6394
Can I ask why you have the same items (you’ve sourced as part of this series) on your new eBay store also listed on your main/existing store for different prices? I assumed the idea was the sell the items found on your new store only? Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Good stock is hard to come by to manage 2 stores individually so I’m cross listing into the main store, main store sales don’t count towards the challenge so I remove them out of the second store when they sell. The series is educational the main store is my livelihood, I can’t sacrifice that income for a RUclips video, I hope this makes sense
Totally get it! Just wanted to know the reasoning, but that makes complete sense
$5 for soccer boots wowe I wish my local thrift stores priced this low!
I'm down to just a select few cheap stores nowadays!
hows courtneys store doing?
She stopped selling on it 9 months ago
How come you never talk about the importance of having op shop staff put this stock aside and getting it at discounted price??
Because I’ve never done that
@TheAussieFlipper I know what I saw mate. Your not the only one that benefits from it. Just saying it would be good to be transparent
No quite literally, i don't do it. One of the biggest mistakes I've made over the last 3 years is not receive collections from out the back. I could count on my hands the amount of times it happened for me. I've now noticed stores are dry 24/7 in the categories I like to source so I know this is going on with other sellers. Kicking myself for not doing it after all this time. For real for real. Honest answer.@@Turd_Ferguson351
Loving the content mate! Keen to set up a 1-on-1 call with you and learn more.
Book her in mate! Looking forward to it 📞
I'm disappointed they didn't call the magazine "truckin good life"
Hahaha right
And now because of people like you the op shops will charging $50 for this game in no time learn to keep quiet about bolo items
very surface level thinking mate. dig a little deeper.
Are you and diary of a flipper going to punch on?
He obviously has a chip on his shoulder about your channel
Keep up the great work btw!
I watched a video on his channel this other day and somehow I felt like he was making a video specifically for me 😅 I don’t know man.. I’m just doing my thing, I try not to pay attention to the rest.. especially if there’s any shade being thrown around
