I lived in Branson MO., this is a tourist destination town, and in one of the theater over there , there was a show of the Platters, I never went to see them, to me, there were only one, the rest is only imitation.

all the original platters are gone. Herb Reed was the last. Buck Ram the producer kept the name and after the original lead Tony Williams left he would sell the name to groups. Don't know who these people are. So now there are no more platters just plates and dishes. Same with the drifters , just some wandering guys.
Yep, I worked with Herb & they're only getting away with this because Herb is Gone. He was pretty DIFFERENT 😂 & would Not stand for this if he were still here and healthy enough to do something about it. He would walk pass me coming onto to the stage and either put his little black bag on my bass cab or in my hand. So after so many times I had to look because why would some have to have this bag on stage❓️Well, I'll just say it WASN'T a fake Water pistol 😳😂. He never knew that I peeked because he left behind in a had to bring it to his dressing room so I HAD to know. 👍🏾😳😂
I am sorry but you are not even close. Singing their songs is damaging the real Platters both their name (The PLATTERS) a their voices. I feel it is an insult to The PLATTERS
THERE IS ONLY ONE PLATTERS AND THAT'S THE ORIGINALS WITH TONY WILLIAMS THR LEAD SINGER WITH A GOLDEN VOICE.. NOT ANY ONE AND GROUP CAN EVER BE A REMATCH FOR THEM. THEY ARE UNCOMPARABLE...THE PLATTERS OF ALL TIME.

It shows the mark the original Platters made and how loved their music still is. These guys are very entertaining and they don't claim to be the original group. I haven't got a problem with this but understand if you do.
Sadly, no-one will ever match Tony Williams. The greatest voice of all time, imo. These guys do a pretty good job and are very entertaining. I enjoyed this show.
