- Hello everyone. We have a subscriber request today. This repair was requested by our subscriber Hillary The Penguin Girl who saw this snow globe in episode 176.
In today's video we repair a mermaid snow globe. Hillary named this the Diamond Mermaid because of all of the jewels on the base so we kept the name. The mermaid is looking into the small globe next to her which contains a fish and a pearl.
The globe is missing some water and the existing water is yellow. We use the boiling water method to disassemble the globe. We use 30 percent glue and, based on Hillary's suggestion we used aquamarine and iridescent white glitter. We use the water submersion method to remove the air bubble. The end results looks very nice.

Does the hot water damage the paint?
So far we have not had any damage from the hot water, however, I can't remember if we did it with this one but for additional safety we put the snow globe in a plastic bag these days so that the base gets the heat but doesn't get wet.
