I just looked up the specs. A Noctua 1700 rpm Redux moves just 4 CFM more so this is actually kinda impressive. Rating is for one fan and that is standard practice. These fans actually have more static pressure, though that isn't really what makes a fan. Static pressure is pretty irrelevant because that only applies to air that isn't moving and you definitely want the air moving in your case. It really just says the Asiahorse fans will draw more power to do roughly the same thing. The bearings are almost certainly inferior to the ones in a Noctua fan and this will reduce longevity and have them making noise a lot sooner. However, if you have poor case airflow, the Asiahorse fan would be a better choice because it will more easily overcome the airflow restriction. I guess the take home here is that Noctua designs their fans for well designed airflow setups and cheap fans work better for lazy builders.
Doing that sort of comparison would really require the ability to measure and normalize noise levels. Comparing performance of fans at max speed without measuring noise levels is still kinda interesting, but it's not really useful to consumers unless you don't care about how much noise your PC makes.
@kepstin 100% agree, which is why I enjoy the HC and GN fan reviews, but for a quick and dirty reference like Jay would provide, I think it would add a nice reference point.
Mine too. I've always been surprised that they haven't been talked about. Work just fine for me, look alright, and really helped with cable management.
Had a bad experience with Asia Horse fans three years ago. The fluid bearings leaked and sprayed oil everywhere..not a fun cleanup. Glad to hear I probably just got a bad batch.
They have since fixed that issue with a new seal. I took a chance on the single fans since I really liked the led design and they have been running for 10 months now and I have zero leakage on any of the 8 fans in my case. In fact, I had one bad fan and they were quick to send me a replacement. I like the fact that I "don't" have to use rgb software for them.@@johnhicks8626
Ive had Asia Horse fans in my rig for almost 3 years now, and they have held up extremely well. Still quiet, and moving plenty of air. Very pleased with them
Another cool video, but another one where Jay gets the fan bearings wrong again. True Fluid Dynamic Bearings are the best fan bearings behind Maglev bearings. They are sealed fluid bearings with NO dust getting into the bearings and use a grooved shaft to create a vortex in the fluid to suspend the shaft during operation. They run cool and quiet with noise issues (clicking) only occurring if you run them too slow. Be Quiet! uses them with a lifespan rated at 300,000hrs. Please stop confusing them with "Hydro Bearing" or "Fluid Bearing" fans which are such fancy names for cheap sleeve bearing fans that use a grease that attracts dust, wear out faster in a horizontal orientation, and have a lifespan of less than 40,000hrs at best. Thank you for reading.
I have this exact thing on my PC and I really like it! I dont use it for radiator fans, just use it as my front case fans in an airflow-focused case. Looks great to me (an RGB lover), and blows enough air into the case for my uses.
Very cool to see these tested. I almost bought them for my pc, but chickened out because I was afraid of the guality/effiency and ended up just getting led corsair fans from the used market. Love the distinct tribal look of the frames. Would love to see comparison of these against few others especially how they sound.
Ive had two of the 360's in my Robin III case 2 years+ now and they are still going great. very quiet. Normally they are just kept on a nice soft white and they look high tech and spacey, i dig em. i know even Jay mentioned them not having a single fan size model..but for me it was perfect since i run a 7in sensor panel on the rear fan port. i kept the arctic liquid freezer II 360 fans for the rad up top, plenty of airflow throughout. my temps have always been solid.
I bought the 240mm version of this back in early 2022 for a low-cost custom build for a friend, and it's held up pretty well, despite their... sub-optimal cleaning habits. Asia Horse is a decent enough budget brand, though I try to use ID-Cooling or InWin if possible.
I've had these exact same fans for over a year now and they work flawlessly and they're very quiet. I have one on my 360 rad and one for intake in front. RGB works well with Aura. I leave them on solid color.
I have a set of those. They are very cool and I like the compound setup if you have the room in your case. You can hook that controller up to your reset switch on the case and control the rgb that way.
I bought my 240mm one last year when I built my new rig in my y60 and and honestly pretty happy with it overall. If you want something to fill out a space with LEDs it does the job and performs pretty well in my experience.
Jay you now need to talk about the Thermalright TL-C12C-S. Box of 3 130 ARGB fans with daisy chaining on both argb and pwm for ~$13. I’ve always used these and they’re awesome fans and just super cheap too
Have you tried the Thermalright TL-S 12? They are a similar price but have a halo rgb around them, look so nice, cant find much info about them on youtube.
I haven't watched the video yet but I've had two of these running in my system for a year and a half with absolutely no issues. I bought them as a single cable solution during a time where uni-fans were not available anywhere
Asia Horse definitely gets down with the Chinglish, but their products aren't half bad, especially for the price. I've used several of their fan kits and currently use their PSU cable extensions. Their prices have gotten a lot higher over the years. They used to be one of those companies you could get five or six fans and a controller for like $25-30, now they're about double that.
Hey Jay and crew, you're anometer measures air velocity in feet per minute, so if you get the average velocity across the entire fan or radiator face and multiply by your square footage you will get CFM. The 360 is just under 0.5 square feet. So you'd be looking at roughly 10 CFM if you're 20 ft per minute measurement was accurate. I really enjoy these random videos, and while I'm not a fan of RGB this looks cool enough. Love you guys
That is actually kind of neat. Looks easy to install and connect. If I was building a new system and wanted RGB galore I would compare with other options.
Fluid Concept Design does not refer to the bearings but to the design only. It means led are running thru the whole kit to form a large design enhancing the so-called fluidity.
They did specify that the installation is painless with one cable. The proper conclusion is that plugging in the RGB causes pain. As a "no RGB" guy, I can agree with that sentiment.
I have these fans in my hyte y60. 6 140mm and and 4 120mm. Push pull with the 140s on. 280 rad. What’s awesome about asiahorse is they send you a controller with every box of three 120 fans you buy. I have zero complaints. I’m using them on my new full tower build.
I've had the white 360 on the front of my case for intake for a little over a year. It genuinely works really well. Definitely a solid option for a casual pc builder or gamer.
Yeah, baby! I recently bought two of those for my radiators in my HAF700 Evo. I absolutely love them. The LEDs are amazing, and you cannot beat the price. 🖖😀
I love the Halloween intro to your videos. October is the most fun time to watch your content simply because of this. I'm a simple man. I don't need a lot!
I run ALOT of Asia Horse parts in my rig, i use 2 of the Matrix 360 and 1 Matrix 240, several SSD coolers, cable extensions, a 24 pin strimmer cable, prism 120 fan, GPU bracket. they also have amazing customer service as well
I bought the "Fish-Bone" style pc fan from Asia Horse a year and 11 months ago, they've been actually amazing. They were only $6-7 per fan (in a kit of 3), 2500 rpm, and 4 pin pwm. One lived in my server chassis for 1 year and 6 months (I switched to a different chassis that came with fans, it still works), the other two have been on my gaming pc's radiator the entire time. No issues with them the whole time I've been using them. They're no AVC or Noctua, but surprisingly good for how inexpensive they are.
I've had these in a system for about two years now. They are still working great. I got the 360 and 240 combo for less than you paid for that 360 though. Disclaimer... I have the 240 on a Lian Li rad pushing through the rad to exhaust out the top of the case and two Lian Li non RGB fans outside the case pulling air through the same rad. I just wanted these fans for the side lighting. The 360 is in the front of the case behind tinted glass. Mystic Light controls it all but they all just stay white and yes, the white is a nice clean white and they have stayed that way for two years with no dimming or discoloration.
So far, Asiahorse is holding together. I've been running 5-120mm and a hub in my game beast for 2.8 years, and they still purr (that's two in the top case, one rear exhaust, and two on the cooler in a push pull arrangement. It's running a 1st gen 1920 Threadripper with a Noctua TR-4 cooler. The AH fans keep the cpu at 81f when idling, so they do a decent cooling job). And that is daily use.
I bought a couple of these awhile back for my son’s pc. They work decent. One down side is they tend to bow out in the middle and there isn’t holes in the middle for screws. I just plugged into MB and they sync with everything else.
CFM rating is for one fan. A Noctua 1700 RPM Redux moves 70CFM. I'm surprised these cheap fans are as good as they are but they definitely are moving more than that from all 3. I got a couple of awesome wireless 80% mech keyboards from Amazon for $70 each with a fairly high DPI mouse. It was one of those brand names where someone just presses a bunch of random keys. But they have genuine Cherry switches and are solid and heavy and that's all that really matters. Yes, your flow rate goes down when you blow through a rad. But, due to the conservation of momentum, your dynamic pressure goes up. So it isn't as bad as it seems because it is actually moving a lot more molecules of air than the flow rate suggests. This is actually a good thing because it increases the dwell time and allows for better heat exchange. A free flowing radiator probably wouldn't work as well and would be massive. As a point of order, if you want your fans to work best with the rad, you should be using some tape to fair it so air doesn't leak around the edges. But I know y'all aren't gonna put a bunch of duct tape or gaffer tape in your rig because liquid cooling in a gaming PC has nothing to do with anything but appearance.
that is actually a neat idea i wonder why the big brands havent thought of it, especially with the use specifically for rads. no need for special connectors or linking multiple fans.
Nice to see you again j. I know you haven't gone anywhere but hadn't watched you in a while. I've gotten tired of the other guys so I swung back to you. I like that you have a theory and you're willing to test it out and look for yourself newly. When you suggested that air might escape out the side on your last test would have been cool if you had moved your meter over to the other side and test your theory. I learn much more by trial and error and testing and checking. You are unique this way and I appreciate you. Thank you
They work great. And to price them up against "any old fan" is crazy. The housing all done up with lights and fans that actually work great..the price is perfect. Just think these have been around looong before the whole lian li uni-fan thing.
They have/had another design where it's a single cable that installs in a multi-port controller (remote controlled). So it might be referring to that version. I actually used to buy the 5 packs of those for cheap systems with RGB.
Cool concept and I think the design is cool as long as you dont have anything too crazy on the RGB. I think you could do a very cool TRON inspired build with this.
Thanks for the tip on being able to revive the bearing on fluid bearing fans. I just fixed two failed corsair fans than came in a kit of three RGB fans and a controller. Thanks for saving me some cash. All three fans now run quietly at full speed.
It's funny, I ordered 3x of these in 240mm, and they're scheduled to be delivered today. Had no idea this video existed until I saw it in the youtube suggestions. Also, the fans are half the price on NewEgg ($16) than they are on Amazon.
honestly this is a cool product, more manufacturers should follow suit - everyone is buying 6-9 fans for a full size build, may as well build 3 in a single unit for less cables/etc
I got dark horse fans "singels" for my brother for his birthday. They are acutely quite good quality for being a Chinese fan. And it's been about 2 years now and still no problems.
LMAO!! The Euro house beat was awesome!🤣 Pretty cool that it actually has it's own controller for people like me, running 12 year old tanks for an everyday system!😄👍👍
A lot of times thick radiators have wider spaced fins. There's less benefit to closely spacing the fins when the radiator has extra depth, diminishing returns are limited by the radiator's face area.
I have one of these lol. Works super well. Its been over a year and its still going strong. I have it on a radiator as a intake. Push pull configuration too.
Same, Robin III case here. One 360 upright in the rear panel, one under on the bottom panel, and kept the black fans on the Arctic Liquid Freezer II AIO up top. I also put a 7inch Sensor Panel in the back where the rear fan would be all done up with my own custom Aida64 temp gages and fps graphs. Awesome looking build imo. These fans look great and work pretty damn well too. Gotta have the ARGB sync mobo, though..the presets and controller are awful.
I bought the AsiaHorse 120mm Cosmiq fans, and they are incredible...2000rpm and 68.5 CFM. I am replacing the 12 Corsair fans I have in my rig that burned a hole into my wallet ( I hate buying fans that end up being more costly than my CPU). I bought 12 Cosmiq fans for $144. The Cosair fans costed me $384, and I almost pulled the trigger on the Lian Li Infinity fans which would have costed me $340.
This is actually appealing for to me because 1. Not a billion wires that I have yo run 2. Ability to control the fans with hardware instead of having to install rgb bloatware on my machine
I have a Cooler Master 2 fan version of this and to me, the RGB is better on mine. Would recommend but remember the downside is if 1 fan dies then the entire fan(s) needs to be replaced.
I had this a while back, and the only thing that dissapointed me was there was no holes for screws in the center, so using it top of the case as just fans, it will bow after a while.
We used this on my daughter's PC (she built it at 9 years old) behind the front panel of the Be Quiet DX500 in white. And it looks really good with the cases front LED vertical strips!
I bought some of Asiahorse's new Lian Li knockoff infinity fans and I complained to them about only providing a single cable for a 3 pack of fans and they sent me another cable without hesitation. Their customer support is good and the fans aren't half bad either, about half the price of the Lian Li fans as well.
When i'm bored I also like to shop around on Amazon, Only difference everything goes onto my wishlist not in the post 😂
Same everytime I actually buy something I having to look for the stuff that they'll let you pay over three months on😢
Damn lmaooo I felt this so much 😭
Yess same
I do the same damn thing 😂. I have around 50 items on wishlist.
The first item I ever added to my wishlist is still there after 10 years.
Love the testing, and I think comparing these fans to other "standard fans" i.e. Arctic, Noctua, would add even more.
Comparing this crap with Noctua is just a pure insult to Noctua.
@@daffhead4975 Sounds like someone who's afraid of what the results would be.

Bad thing is if one fan quits you are screwed, where if you had 3x separate fans you could just replace the bad one.
I've had these for a few months in my Thermaltake Tower 500. Excellent!
I'm running some asia horse rgb fans in my Y40. Love the look and they seem to work great. Not pricey.
They work great. And to price them up against "any old fan" is crazy. The housing all done up with lights and fans that actually work great..the price is perfect. Just think these have been around looong before the whole lian li uni-fan thing.
I've been eyeballing those for about two weeks now. Thank you for this video!
They have/had another design where it's a single cable that installs in a multi-port controller (remote controlled). So it might be referring to that version. I actually used to buy the 5 packs of those for cheap systems with RGB.
i just bought this fan last week lol
One of my buddies uses one of these, and has been for like 2 years now. Been great.
I'd imagine these fans would do well I mean they are intended for rads...so blade design should have good static pressure.
I like videos like this. Nice to see what else is out there.
honestly this is a cool product, more manufacturers should follow suit - everyone is buying 6-9 fans for a full size build, may as well build 3 in a single unit for less cables/etc
I only use pull fans on a 480x60mm from EKWB, works great with Arctic P12 fans at 80% or 1200rpm.
I got dark horse fans "singels" for my brother for his birthday.
They are acutely quite good quality for being a Chinese fan. And it's been about 2 years now and still no problems.
6:23 I wasn't ready 🤣🤣🤣
When I was bored I went on Amazon and ended up finding a DIY LCD screen for the Hyte Y60 case. Fun addition to my pc.
never used their fans but have use their cable extensions for years with no problem for a decent price
I have a few of their products and theyre pretty good they’ve held up really well!
Could you do a wall mounted PC build? You could put it on that wall by your server rack as a showcase
I have one of these lol. Works super well. Its been over a year and its still going strong.
I have it on a radiator as a intake. Push pull configuration too.
$14-17 for a decent performing rgb is actually not even too bad, it's a struggle to find good rgb fans for that price!
Love their cable extensions
I bought some of these. 2 years on and they're still working. I don't use them for RADs though, only intake fans.
The rave unh tis unh tis unh tis killed me 😅😅😅😅 im in a 12 hour graveyard shift laughing my ass off
I've had these in my build for 2 years now. Robin III case and 2x Matrix 360s
I had this a while back, and the only thing that dissapointed me was there was no holes for screws in the center, so using it top of the case as just fans, it will bow after a while.
Mine have been in over a year now and are still straight. I had the same thought when installing them but took a chance anyway. I'm happy I did.
@@grantberardi5080 i'm looking at reordering 2 of them for my current build.
If anyone is wondering these fans are amazing and there hub control is also really good and is magnetic
We used this on my daughter's PC (she built it at 9 years old) behind the front panel of the Be Quiet DX500 in white. And it looks really good with the cases front LED vertical strips!
“You got tribal tattoo armband RGB here.”
Best line ever.
I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while now...thanks for the info!
I think this fan is actually a pretty smart and cool idea because its a full size rgb unit
