The fleeing/frightened animal situation seems simple enough to me.
The animal is frightened 4 and fleeing, but you've countered the instinct to flee. It's still frightened 4, but it's listening to you.
So you suppress the running, but it's still there (so long as you're animal is frightened). This kind of rule can be seen with suppression of emotions maybe, like a Calm Emotions spell removing the negatives of fear from a pc, but the pc still having the condition.
Anyone found funny how he says dog and wolf?
"DOWG" and "WUFF" lel.
Just made me laugh a little.
Nice content! Keep it up!
Woovs
@@ChaoticRad Or "wooves", like "hooves", "loaves", etc?
Where are you from? I've never heard wolf pronounced as "woof" before.
dawgs :-)
It's pretty common in the Pittsburgh (PA) (USA) area, for one. Not sure where else.
I knew a guy from Cleveland who said it like that.
With the 'L' sounds coming from the throat rather than the tip of the tongue, coupled with the wide 'O' vowel sounds, I'm going to guess Maryland. Definitely somewhere in the US Mid-Atlantic region between DC and Philadelphia.
My friend from Reno says woof too
Love these videos! Crafting and spells are the big videos I'm looking forward to! Keep it up!
Great content as always. Thanks for making these!
You're very welcome!
I agree with you on the interpretation of the Command Animals vs. Fleeing. Makes sense.
Thanks for the awesome videos!
You're very welcome!
I do love winter wooves... But for real, this was super good.
Great video! ❤
Woof
Thanks, these videos are really great. I hope you do one for crafting, potions, and scrolls.
Crafting and Spells are definitely the two most requested topics right now. Once I wrap up animals (mounts, companions and familiars), I should start working on those two.
Great stuff. I think the big one I am curious about is familiars.
Stay tuned. :)
Great videos! I would love to see a crafting video. ;)
Another vote for crafting! After animals, it looks like I'll be tackling either crafting or spells next.
But Frightened naturally goes down by 1 each turn right? So the after commanding the dog, it would go down to frightened 3. Each turn that it stayed out of the way of the attackers, it would lose a point in its frightened condition. So if you command it for 4 rounds, it will lose its frightened condition and stop fleeing. Right?
Yes, but if it is attacked or damaged it returns to frightened 4 and fleeing with the same exceptions.
Great video! I have a question, when does an regular animal becomes an animal companion? Or... Do they stay as normal animals unless you found a way to get the animal companion feat? If I train a wild animal with the "train an animal" feat for a long time does it becomes an animal companion in the long run?
The only way for an "animal" to become an "animal companion" is with a feat or other feature that specifically says you get an animal companion.
@@HowItsPlayed thanks for the quick reply!!
and this is why I will be teaching my Dogs commands in Joton *laughs* bark order all you want in common, you fools!!!!
then perhaps teach my Bear commands in Orc, just to confuse my party members more.
There are also a lot of useful meows if you can’t find a woof you like. :-)
I had a read of the errata for PF2e and this is there:
---
"Animal Companions and Familiars
Page 214: In the first paragraph, replace the first two
sentences with the following to clarify the specific action
required to command your animal companion, and that
it doesn’t require a check.
An animal companion is a loyal comrade who follows your orders. Your animal companion has the minion trait, and it gains
2 actions during your turn if you use the Command an Animal
action to command it; this is in place of the usual effects of Command an Animal, and you don’t need to attempt a Nature check."
---
It seems you no longer need to do a nature check to command and animal. Is this correct?
"Animals" and "Animal Companions" are not the same thing. Stay tuned for a video all about Animal Companions. ;)
How about tackling Shadowrun 5E next ? 😂😂 Just kidding. Don't do that....
I think PF and SF are going to keep me busy for a while. :)
to be honest: if a wolf has blue eyes like sans from undertale, I'm not sure, if I would call it an animal too
Woofs
Love the Videos, but Woof
0:38 What is a woof?
Sort of distracting that he picked an animal whose name he couldn't pronounce.
wolf not woof or woov lol omg east coasters ffs 😂
Woof
