Yeah this has to be one of the most competitive Eurovisions in a long time, ESPECIALLY the first semi final. Almost every song deserved to be in the final tbh, sadly someone had to be left behind
Albina didn't qualify because I put a spell on her, since I'm still bitter that Bernarda or Nina didn't win Dora... Haha just kidding, I was sad for her, but Dora was very strong in 2021, hope to see Bernarda back!

I really liked the song, but she didn't convince me on the night, it was not a strong performance, she wasn't confident in delivering it.
After not qualifying, Croatia was trending in the US, Australia, all across Europe. Everyone’s so mad. I saw many press live streaming from the press center saying how Croatia was robbed. Everyone’s shook.
Yeah I thought Croatia was gonna qualify and Belgium was not.
I think Hooverphonic probably won a lot of jury votes and it was enough to put them ahead of Croatia.

C'mon Croatia is a catchy song with a good looking and decent singing vocalist. But the song is very generic and nothing special. Belgian on the other hand is pure quality, very unique and mature. I do like Croatia more than some qualifiers like Sweden that was vocally just subpar. But Belgian is a very deserving finalist.

I LOVED Romania's entry and I voted for it, too! My daughter and I were gutted that lovely Roxen didn't qualify. The song's message was so important, the staging was gorgeous and I loved the way she and her dancers looked. So sad that she didn't go through! But Roxen is so young and has her entire singing career ahead of her. I hope we'll see her again at the ESC in the future! Love from an Italian fan ❤️🇮🇹
SO TRUE, this was a good song, good message, good staging, and, until the ending of the song, the voice was also GREAT, just the ending was a bit meh, but that TOTALLY deserved to QUALIFY.

I think it wasn't that bad, she deserves to go to the finals! Imo she should just stand and sing cuz we know she can sing SO damn gooood!
They literally mopped the floor with her and pulled on her like she was a rag or something 😂😂😂 It was clear that she couldn't sing properly, but they decided to stick with it. And that's how staging destroys everything.
Romania was ruined bu staging. They let her move more than sing, so if she stood on one place and focused on vocals, she would have qualified and at the same time, enter even top 10 in thr GF.

I loved Roxen's performance! I voted for it from Italy and was so sad that she didn't qualify. We'll hopefully see her at the ESC in the future.
@@triconicgaga348 It was too much for her… She didn‘t have enough experience to move and sing at the same time and don‘t forget that she has Lyme disease which makes everything much more difficult for her so yeah…. I would have made it so that Roxen would be replaced by a person during the fight and she would only appear at the end. Her vocals would be so much better and she would have qualified for sure.

I believe its important to stand out in Eurovision, either with some distinctive vocals or staging or anything that will make you remember the performance, and sadly our song didn't hit those points :(

I think Roxen was sabotaged by her delegation. In the first rehearsal they should have seen that she couldn't perform an energetic routine & sing at the same time. She's too young & hasn't built up her strength. Give her a few years & she'll easily manage. I hope she comes back as I really liked her song.
Similarly Lesley Roy's staging was too energetic for her, & I think her excitement was to her detriment.
Vasil sang fantastically, but the song was not a Eurovision song.
I like Montaigne's song & wished she'd stayed in. I thought it was the best she'd performed it.
Croatia. . . was perfect. I honestly don't know why she didn't qualify, other than the semi was a bloodbath. Israel had the whistle notes & ethnic sound, Azerbaijan the ethnic sound, Croatia was just as good but sounded too western & not as original. She deserved to qualify though because it was a great song & performed perfectly. I preferred it to Azerbaijan & was shocked it didn't qualify. I hope Albina returns & slays. 🙂
Croatia was so robbed, no question, I personally think Australia were as well, great staging and song. Roxen had done a great job with the song and performance, but I just don't feel like the vocals had been there since rehearsals started. Loving the content Georgina, keep it up 👍

From my point of view, Albina deserved a spot in the final. Her performance was great, staging fit well, she sang well. Just a great performance.
Now, Romania probably just got lost during the jury rankings as the performance there was a little lack-luster.

I was in the audience definitely the big songs were the ones from Russia and Ukraine it’s not my kind of music but the whole audience were so hyped about these two songs. I think that’s why other people liked it so much.

Ukraine send unique song. Israel, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Albania, Cyprus, Moldova , Malta send same type of pop song.
Thats why Ukraine, Italy, Switzerland, France, Iceland, Finland have more chance to win.
@@RN-lj9gi I went to the jury show on monday night and the crowd loved both Azerbaijan and Malta. Destiny actually got to perform twice due to technical difficulties, and the crowd went even crazier the second time around.

I do not understand how she thought Azerbaijan's performance was like Ariana Grande's? And after stating that "I don't quite get how this stayed" Meh. Maybe because it was as great as Ariana's videos? Lmao. Plus Efendi performed some traditional dance and instruments which were unique tbh. Buut yeah I agree on Crotia was legit robbed:/ sadge
I feel for Lesley because she had such a difficult start unlike any other country, the cameras were not working! I personally loved her performance and was touched by it ❤
Her vocal massively improved when she got in front of the audience. Blame Måns' team for persuading Lesley to do it.
Tusse had a surgery 4 weeks ago which really affected (still does) his voice. Doctor’s were not very keen on letting him go to Eurovision since it might get worse. We (Sweden) are so proud of him for still being able to compete. He is a great performer🇸🇪❤️

I don’t know how much it was singers being likeable and how much it was just a jury thing, but some choices are... Questionable. Tusse is a really nice guy, but his song was nothing special comparing to other performances. But I guess not having Sweden in the final is a big no-no... Also Tix - this guy is great and very likeable, but how much of his score was pity/sympathy/jury-thing and how much was actually the song being better than others? I don’t know. Waiting now for the second semi-final.

Azerbeijan stayed, because the meaning of the song goes way back to the first WW. Plus the meaning and the images were perfectly matching with the song.

I definitely think Croatia and Romania should have made it in the final, although in RO's case, I kinda get it: I do think Roxen could have done better, it just wasn't her night.
She gave us what she's got on the rooftop live. I think her choreography was too exhausting. She was pulled, she was jumping, she was running and had to sing a song with her singing voice, which is harder to achieve than the normal, speaking voice. I really liked the song, though her voice wasn't ideal 💜. And I absolutely love the teledisc!!!
I love how authoritatively you speak. It's so cool to listen to as someone who doesn't know that much about music from a pure technical standpoint. It says a lot that an actual expert was able to predict all the qualifiers. It's also nice to see a British person actually taking it seriously and appreciating the talent.

Tusse has actually had surgery on his tonsils VERY recently!! That is why his singing isn’t at a 100% at the moment. But he’s really trying and he really wants this so I’m proud of him for that! I don’t think he has a problem with nerves generally which is good!

I am also sorry for Romania but implying that Efendi’s song (Azerbaijan)was boring and did not deserve to be qualified is absurd.Azerbaijan’s performance was much more better than that of those few countries.Her vocals(clear voice),staging and other details were absolutely amazing.The real eurovision song!

Belgium sounded exactly what you'd expect from musicians who are already established. Great quality, no frills. Something that you'd expect to hear on the radio.
Interesting to hear from your point of view. I feel sorry for everyone who was disappointed about Croatia and Romania. Especially Croatia I would have in the Final. Glad you liked TIX. He has Tourettes syndrom with lots of tics, and also OCD. He is very couragious to take of the sun glasses and showed himself - as Andreas. He has a story to tell behind, I hope people have got it, much told in the Official Music Video, and interviews. We are very proud of him in Norway.
The Contest isn’t about HIGHNOTES or HITTING HIGHER OR HIGH NOTES, the important is the AUDIENCE IMPACT and HOW ARTIST CONFIDENTLY DONE THE SONGS.

Sweden will always go through, no matter what they might send, especially because of the jury votes. It is so frustating every year to see amazing and unique songs not qualifying and Sweden's generic songs at the top 10 in the finals.

You said everything I thought when I saw the entire semifinal... Literally everything... I agree Croatia 's song should have been in the final... And also agree on Romania's opinion... She was one of my favorites and she could make it... The song was not as powerful as in the live version or the Official video song
There where so many good songs in this first semi-final, so sad that so many country's not get to the final's
We all have our own taste in music and as a dutchie my taste is more western orientated and I have difficulty enjoying east European songs. That's why I am shocked that I really liked Ukraine, so much so that it was the highlight of the evening for me. Somehow the repeating chorus worked and the drive at the end really worked for me. Other favourites were Belgian, what a mature song. I was surprised Tick Tock didn't go thru, I liked it but it was maybe a bit too generic too stand out.
Ukraine is number 4 in the RUclips tends in Germany (Russia is the only other song making the German YT trends at the moment) and German Twitter was mostly only talking about Ukraine (and a bit about Lithuania).
I think Ukraine might have won the televote by the international reaction on Twitter.
I had not seen or heard Ukraine's song for this year until last night and it completely won me over. I was STUNNED. Last year, I did not like their song w/ this same singer, but this new song is incredible and the performance and speed variations it was so cool to listen and watch. 🤩

It was never gonna win the final sure, but several songs hyped up before the contest fell flat on stage or the singers struggled with important notes (I'm looking at you Malta). Croatia sounded great and looked just as good on stage as the music video! It just goes to show that if the fundamentals of a song itself are really good a performance can struggle and people will still like it.
Croatia wasn't a song that everyone liked. Think about who voted. It was us. If you love it much why dont all of you vote for it? It would have gotten in. Yes all of you comment section

If so many people like Croatia - then why didn't you vote? Or if so, not enough people voted to compensate for the jury score/to compete with the other songs in the same genre (Azerbeidzjan, Cyprus, Malta). It was a good Eurovision entry, but it did not stand out in terms of originality. So if you're not original, you've got to have a smoking performance and staging, and this wasn't the case. On the other hand, I think Israel and Norway were worse.
Romania had a good song as well, but the vocals were bad, and the overall performance was not on the same level as the song.
I think Croatia definitely should’ve gone through. She didn’t flop at all
Romania however, I do love the song but she just needed more oomf in her vocal. But hey she was better than she was in the jury show

Unbelievable that Albina didn't make it through. It was such a strong semi final but I feel Israel or Norway weren't as good. If Albina had performed in semi 2, she would have killed it and made it through.
Mata Hari the song of Azerbaijan is super catchy and it should have won. She was amazing, delivering vocally and with an incredible stage presence 😍😍😍
