Instead of fighting with one another, what if we united together to:
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: (Or so it currently appears):
Try to save at least 1 single species on and from this Earth to exist beyond this Earth, solar system and most probably collapsing spiral shaped galaxy into a universe that never ends in a big freeze or by some other means so that life itself on and from this Earth has continued meaning and purpose to potentially throughout all of future eternity. (Otherwise, all life on and from this Earth, real and articifical, eventually dies and goes extinct, is ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things, and are all a waste of spacetime in this universal existence.)
      * Mission Impossible of the highest order.
      * Nature is our greatest ally in so far as Nature gives us life and a place to live it, AND Nature is also our greatest enemy that is going to take it all away. (Can we change the ending?)

The Philippines' claim to the Spratly Islands because of 3 things.
    1. Historical Presence and Occupation:
The Philippines asserts that it has a historical presence and occupation of some of the islands in the Spratly group. Philippine fishermen and traders have been known to frequent and use these islands for centuries. In the modern era, the Philippines established a civilian community on Thitu Island (also known as Pag-asa Island) in 1970, which serves as a basis for its claim of sovereignty.
    2. Proximity to Philippine Territory:
Some of the Spratly Islands are located relatively close to the Philippine archipelago, particularly Palawan Island. The Philippines argues that the proximity of these islands to its territory makes them part of its exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and continental shelf, as defined by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). This claim is based on the concept that features such as islands and rocks generate maritime entitlements.
    3. Adherence to International Law:
The Philippines, like many other claimant states, contends that its claims are consistent with international law, particularly UNCLOS. UNCLOS provides a framework for determining maritime boundaries, including those related to territorial waters, EEZs, and the continental shelf. The Philippines filed a case against China in the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in 2013, seeking clarification of its rights in the South China Sea under UNCLOS. In 2016, the PCA ruled in favor of the Philippines on several key issues, including the determination that certain features in the Spratly Islands were not islands capable of generating EEZs, thus invalidating China's expansive "nine-dash line" claim.

Haha, the Philippines rewrote its own country’s borders after the 1970s, and now bad consequences are slowly coming.
The territorial scope of the Philippines is mainly composed of the 1898 Spanish-American Peace Treaty of Paris, the 1900 Spanish-American Treaty on the Cession of the Outlying Islands of the Philippines, and the 1930 Treaty on the Delimitation of the Boundary Between British North Borneo and the American Philippines. Delineated and restricted to the east of the 118th east longitude. According to the above provisions, the territorial The territorial scope of the Philippines is mainly composed of the 1898 Spanish-American Peace Treaty of Paris, the 1900 Spanish-American Treaty on the Cession of the Outlying Islands of the Philippines, and the 1930 Treaty on the Delimitation of the Boundary Between British North Borneo and the American Philippines. Delineated and restricted to the east of the 118th east longitude. According to the above provisions, the territorial scope of the Philippines is limited to the Philippine Islands and does not involve China's South China Sea islands and reefs. The above scope was reconfirmed by the 1935 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines. The Act Concerning the Establishment of the Baselines of the Territorial Sea of the Philippines (Act No. 3046 of the Republic of the Philippines) of 1961 reaffirms the provisions of the Philippines’ 1935 Constitution regarding its territorial scope. These treaties and Philippine domestic laws have determined that the boundary of the Philippines' territorial scope is the 118th east longitude, and the territory to the east is the Philippines' territory. China's Nansha Islands and Scarborough Shoal are located west of the 118th parallel. In other words, China's Nansha Islands and Scarborough Shoal have nothing to do with the territorial scope of the Philippines.

A dispute comes into being & continues when the 2 opposing sides are holding firm onto their respective versions which justify their respective claims. In the past, many countries thought that they would only accept "winner takes all" conclusions & hence they all ended up with wars for ultimate settlements. China takes a different approach for peaceful resolutions with its counterparts on disputes such as disputed territories, etc. For the South China Sea territories which involve China's proven centuries long historical sovereignty (which was interrupted by the external powers' notorious colonial invasions & legally returned to China under UN Charter & Laws at the conclusion of WW2) versus late comers' claims in recent decades (based on US backed arguments in misinterpretation or cherry-picking of the Law of the Sea under UN), China has been offering to all relevant South China Sea neighbour countries that all countries involved should shelve their disputes for now & work together to establish a sea of peace, friendship & cooperation through negotiations for fair & win-win benefits under UN Charter & Laws. Working hand in hand to explore resources in the disputed area to benefit relevant countries' people will always be superior to raging conflicts & wars with one another which could only mean unnecessary losses of lives & wealth of countries involved. At the same time, China has been signaling that it is prepared & ready to fend away any external forces which may make any military attempts to interfere with the prospective South China Sea peaceful settlement. It takes a leader's wisdom & guts to make the right choice.

While rejecting whole idea of China is indeed inherited those territories as a part of the ww2
legacy, and in fact recognised by many major powers, the Philippine was no where to be seen at that time. They only joined from 2010s, rather a late joiner and the most naive one. Things started to change after Vietnam was the first decided to harvest the oil by inviting the British company in, not to mention Vietnam and China, both China, did have skirmishes for those islands before. While China was trying to use its economic power and international ties to create a grey zone, it was partly successes, until the Philippine decided to seek the opportunity to seized those islands with the helps from the almighty great USA, as it is eagerly needing geopolitics dominance and a NATO in Asia, so the Pilipino has sealed its own fate onto the US’s shining war bandwagon, what a fool it is. So as reactions, China decided to solidify some of it assets while leaving out the rest as bargain chips. Yet the conflict will be worsen, as needed, also as Philippine failed to see others’ true intention. The Philippine has no idea that, everyone on this stage wants this sacrifice lamb to die, from the very beginning.
If the Philippine really foolish enough to make claims of the islands because they are closer…it didn’t even realised itself is also too close to China, and the power it is borrowing, the US is too far away.
Everyone can start a war, few can survive it, none can stop it.
Let’s pray China will not become another empire like the US, even as the US and it’s allies fools are pushing it to be.

almost all mainstream medias failed to report, why china is claiming these waters and how it got to the current issue!
    01. china have paperwork showing the 9 dash line dating back to the ming dynasty. according to history they have older paperwork, but those were gone.
    02. after ww2, the west didnt invite china to discuss the land and sea border. usa did this on purpose to create conflict in asia like what is happening today.
    03. after ww2, china didnt have the power to secure the water, so all these neighborhood countries use the water as is, so it is very hard for them to give up the water now.
    04. china is trying to save the ecosystem in the water, especially the philippines, cause of that rusting ship killing the sea lives. this is the main reason why china and the philippines are having conflict now. philippines said if they remove that ship, china will take the water from them, but if that rusting ship is killing the ecosystem, you will not have fish anyway.
    05. most important of all, why china is so adamant about securing the water now! invasion!!! over the years, chinese fishermen found usa spycrafts in the water. why do you think china develop their navy so fast? why do you think china must find a way to detect the usa sub? the usa sub that claimed to crash in the water was really the first test detecting the usa sub, cause it was a warning shot from china to the usa! the usa have military bases surrounding china for decades, if china doesnt built those island to install protection to the water, what do you think will happen when a war starts?
