I started to like him in Long Ballad, his character is always fierce but warm and behind that fierce look, he has a good heart in every character he portrays. I really don't understand how could people call him ugly, like look at him!!!!! One of the hottest man on earth!!! Even when I was not his fans yet and only saw him on some TV show I found him attractive, not to mentioned that his name is always there on any of my playlists due to his extensive list of OSTs. He made me head over heals and I could not wait to devour more of his dramas, TV shows, as well as OST.

He may not have the typical idol looks for a ML but I do think he's very good looking in a different way and his age makes him 100% more convincing when acting a grown up man, rather than some of the very young MLs that are having to act well above their age as a character. This maturity is especially good when it comes to charisma and emotional interactions, he's very strong with these. He's as good an actor as most in idol dramas and better than quite a few, naming no names here, lol. He could have stayed in his very successful singing career, made money and had a great career but good on him for wanting to stretch himself and see where his other talents can lead. To be honest I don't see why anyone would want to be a front line drama idol, with all the hassle and criticism they get publically, no privacy or private life etc etc but that's his choice and hopefully being that bit older at this stage will make him more resilient to the barrages of negativity. My mother always said though "If you can't say something nice, stay silent" and I wish that were true when it comes to all the haters out there.

I agree! Especially your comment about his charisma. I saw him for the first time in The Story of Pearl Girl and immediately picked up on that charisma and charm. Something which is innate. I feel there are many good actors that do a fantastic job but only a few have this natural charisma that just oozes out from within. Liu Yuning has definitely got this. His acting is subtle but so powerful because of this. I was attracted to him immediately, not in a weird, “fangirl” obsessive way but in the ability he has to draw you into his character. Brilliant actor and singer. Thanking God he has a fantastic career, always humble but deserving of all the praise (and 1st lead roles) he receives.

Me too, I watched long ballad years ago because of Dilraba and Rosy but then I fall for him, he has such a cute and charming face and smile. I also learned that he's the one who sang the OST of Who Rules the world. I love his voice since the first time I heard of it and was so happy to find out it was him.

As an American I don't really know what Chinese people are really like, but in the many Chinese dramas I have watched I have realized that many of these people think that how they feel should be the way that it is. And many of these same people wouldn't be able to handle the same things said about themselves. As an American I feel that Liu Yuning is a very handsome man with exceptional acting skills. Whenever I hear his name as an actor in any drama, I will watch that movie. Everything he does, I can feel the love or heartache coming from his very soul. His acting and singing show that he is a wonderful human being. Everyone that criticizes him or anyone else should look in the mirror at themselves and shut their mouths! Liu Yuning is WONDERFUL!

Liu yuning is a very talented and versatile actor. When I saw him first time in journey to love, I fell in love with him. His acting portraying the chief of six realms was so on point. He was fierce, strong, wise, manly, but very loving and caring at the same time. I watched the story of pearl girl because of him and i am so happy that i don't see ning yan zhou or hao du but yan zhi jing. He's truly portrayed his roles well. So talented! Looking forward to see all his upcoming dramas! Especially prisoner of beauty and dream within a dream.

He absolutely deserves his success. He's handsome and talented and obviously has a positive attitude about his career. He's apparently very humble as well. Sounds like a bunch of jealous people who do not like themselves to me. Instead of working on their own self and improving themselves, they lash out at someone who is on a different and higher level than them trying to drag that person down to their level. For those who said he is ugly, my advice would be for them to get their eyes examined and to keep their unkind comments to themselves. This world has enough craziness going on why attack others when it is obvious that you are shallow people who have never been thru what he did in growing up. I was also very poor and lived off other relative's clothes because my father was an alcoholic and even tho he made a lot of money it was all spent on drinking and having a good time. I was a babysitter, i dug red river worms and sold them to the fishermen, I worked in a nursing home and ironed bed sheets and kept an eye out for any problems during the late evening, I worked at a movie theater and sold candy and popcorn, I had to do so many part-time jobs from the age of 13 just so I could buy school supplies and many other necessities SO I know how hard it was for this actor to pull himself out of the depths of poverty as I became a Corporate Secretary and earned a $36,000 pay check until I retired. You nasty people should use your energies in a more constructive way of life.
I loved his character in A Journey to Love. He loved the female lead and they took a lot of time talking out their relationship throughout the drama. Usually in historical dramas we don't see such a well-rounded man who supports and respects the female characters. A less shocking ending would have been appreciated.
