Yes, the one thing I have learned is that consistency is more than just 'paint often', it's about picking a direction and painting with purpose, rather than subject-hopping every single painting. It's helping my art to no end to stick with one medium, and focus on a series as opposed to just doing 'whatever'. Also, I'm tempted to get a projector, would you say it's easier to use than the graphite transfer method?
I use both! It depends on the size. I use the graphite transfer method with smaller pieces, as you can buy graphite sheets at hobby lobby or other craft stores and make a smaller transfers very quick. But a projector I find is a lot easier for larger scale pieces. I know I'm not Lioba. But I hope this helps regardless!
I’m always so happy when you upload new videos 🥹🙌 I’ve been checking it so often. I would love to subscribe to your Patreon, but I’m tight on money right now! I can’t wait to see what else you’ll share with us, and what else you create. 😆🙌🙌 (Also, I appreciate your willingness to be open about your process and show your own way. It’s so helpful to see!)
This was only for the underdrawing though, normally I paint on an easel (but with a white wall behind it haha) Thank you anyways, glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you for this inspiring video! Your advice for succeeding as an artist is valuable and motivating. Looking forward to seeing more content like this and progressing by following your advice! I subscribe with great pleasure! 😊
This was great Lioba! I am definitely leaning towards building collections because I just don’t have the time to do in person events for the time being…
Correction: You do not have to fall into the current traps of social media to be a successful artist, on the opposite. Doing everything like everyone else does on Instagram or TikTok will only help pushing you under a pile of aspiring artists drowning into an hyper-saturated market. Being an artist isn't being an entertainer by default. You can chose to do so but it's far from mandatory. Sooner or later the social media craze will drop and people will look out for artists who are not seeking attention and fame and who are not sold to sponsors. Integrity still has a LOT of value.
