And once connectet and registerd to your pc. U dont want to miss that kind of feature ever again

And if u want ot view files without opening them u dont even have to hit the spacebar anymore. Just go to the display settings of ur explorer which should be right next to the filter or sorting option, now click on blend in options. and choose , preview window. now whenever u click on any file. u can see whats inside of it

I have used both OSs for many years and could easily make a very long list of pros/cons on both sides. The sum total of those would make the two OSs quite similar when evaluating the user experience and productivity, were it not for the following issues that (for me) make Windows much better, at least for my work life:
    1. Windows user interface is designed much more professionally. Everything is standardised, so that the same action is achieved always in the same manner (same menu option in the same position, same key sequence, etc.). With very few renegade exceptions (e.g. Adobe), all the main functions are executed in the same manner across the OS and all applications. MacOS in that respect seems like different groups of enthusiasts have been building the system over the years by throwing bits and pieces on it in whatever way seemed the best to them at the time and nobody ever bothered to coordinate this work. In the video you highlight one such example (maximising the window by double-clicking on its title bar), but there are many more.
    2. In MacOS you need to click a window (if it’s different from the one you are currently in) once to get focus and then a second time to work in or on it (e.g. to write into it, to resize it or to click on a link if it is a browser). In Windows hovering over any open window takes focus of that window. Also, in Windows I have many years ago replaced the double-click with a single-click, which in MacOS is not possible. In my job I work on two screens and often have several Excel files, several Word files, several Powerpoint files, several PDF files and at least one browser and one File Explorer open at the same time. Whatever I'm doing, I'll be copying/pasting and also editing content between all those files, with an occasional need to fetch an image or another type of content using the File Explorer. That means constant jumping between the open windows. For the same workflow in MacOS I would need twice the number of mouse clicks compared to Windows. Both ease of use and productivity would suffer because of that, so I use Windows.
    3. Windows Taskbar vs. MacOS Dock: In Windows I can do the following which is not possible in Mac OS: when hovering over an app icon in the Taskbar, miniature live representations pop up for every active instance of that app so I can quickly see and select the one I want to bring up by a single click on it. Once brought up, if I change my mind, another single click on the taskbar app icon minimises that window again. In MacOS, getting to the right window can turn out to be a lengthy trial and error process. With many windows open, the Windows way does wonders for productivity.

Good video. I use both Win11 and macOS regularly. One thing you haven't covered is how much easier Win11 is to use on a multi-monitor setup. Win11 displays a separate taskbar on each monitor which shows at a glance what apps are running on what monitor. macOS just has one taskbar on one monitor, which shows what apps are running but not on what monitor. Also, it's easier to 'snap' apps from one monitor to another in Windows, whereas in macOS you have to spend more time dragging and dropping and repositioning (to be fair, you do cover this on a single monitor).

    • @waynecressman8859
      @waynecressman8859 2 года назад

@@googleuser211 I've given up using Macos on my multi-monitor setup. I now use Windows 11 on it only with my Surface Book 3 and only use my Macbook away from the office. I did manage to run Windows virtually on my Macbook using Parallels and that works fine on my multi monitor setup, but, of course, Windows runs more slowly in a virtual environment.

I'm a life long window users who has switched my personal computing to 14" M1 pro MacBook. I find a few niggles with macOS over Windows 10 & 11. The biggest is the way windows work with external monitors, Windows seems so much better and simpler. macOS seems clunky having to click once in MacBook Pro screen or external monitors to activate, or when dragging an app that won't move to the other screen, Windows is so much more natural in this regard. The other odd thing was having to use terminal to enable hibernation on macOS, whereas on Windows it's an option (albeit a little bit burred).

I've recently found myself going in the opposite direction (Windows to Mac). Overall, they're so similar that it's hard to get all that bothered by the minor differences. Long term Windows user who has been working on Mac for 18 months now, and while the hardware is premium, MacOS is still infuriating. The weird way minimize hides things, the inconsistency around Fullscreen, the subpar side by side, and the painful folder navigation through finder and file dialogs are all things that still slow me down to a point of frustration. My assessment is that if i'm doing one task, MacOS is fine. When you're doing a lot of interdependent tasks and having to switch between things, or manipulate multiple files at a time, MacOS creates significant inertia through it's rigid workflow.

My opinion as a 30+ year Apple user: Apple pushed almost all resources in to iPhone/iPad development for the better part of a decade, leaving macOS to stagnate.
Apple have started to take the Mac seriously again in the last few years, but the damage has been done. Right now, macOS feels old, incomplete, still buggy. Side-by-side windowing is a joke, the full-screen windowing system is typical Apple-controlling nonsense, and the Finder is as bad as ever when it comes to networked storage and wireless devices.
And it goes without saying that the Mac is pathetic for gaming. All my gaming is done on a Windows box, running Steam. Apple may love the billions it makes from games on iOS, but it sure as hell doesn't like games on the Mac, and never has.
Now, I'm still wedded to my Macs. (I'm an iOS developer, so there's not much choice in the matter.) And I'm not sure I could live without Mac-only Sketch. But the Mac has languished for many years, and has suffered from many of Apple's "we know best" design decisions. Apple need to understand that their competition has gotten better, and is surpassing them in some areas.

As a C# and Unity Developer, I highly love Windows waaaay more. I have both, a brand new Mac M1 Pro laptop (with docking station) and a Windows 11 i7-10 series desktop.
The Mac usually causes crashes on most of my common used programs as a dev (Unity, Chrome, Visual Studio Code and Professional). It always has access issues when trying to create file parsers and working with file management. You can't adjust the individual volumes of apps without using a third party, my output/input devices always changes, it doesn't natively support creating multiple instances of an application without the app itself implementing it and the entire dock bar looking like a hot mess. Snipping photos and having it auto copy to the clipboard requires extra keys, multiple programs always seem to swap the CTRL and CMD keys for the modifiers (saving for example). Navigating between apps is a hot mess, opening finder or spotlight is imo to slow compared to just pressing a single key that does it. I can't group up apps into a tab based system.....and I got a lot more complaints. I use a Windows for personal usage and man it just feels refreshing to always go back tbh. I should mention that I'm an ultrawide user....which is kind of annoying on a Mac even with Magnet.

I'd also suggest that OS Updating & Patching is quicker and lower 'system trashing-risk' than Windows? Don't think there's a Windows equivalent to Time Machine? I also noticed W11 is a higher level UI improvement but there's still old UI living at lower levels eg mouse settings.

Mark, you have outdone yourself and you have made the nicest review of Windows 11 that is possible. I have to admit that I split my time between MacOS and Windows10 every day and my impression of Windows 11 is that if is not nearly as easy to use as Windows 10 or MacOS. Menus that I have used in Windows have been buried under an extra layer of menus. The "Start" menu is a cluttered mess that makes WIndows 8's "metro" tiles look brilliant. In all, I picked a great time to transition my personal world to the Apple EcoSystem. This nearly happened with Windows 8 back in 2014, but this time with the mess that is Windows 11 and the power of the ne M1 processors, it is a no brainer to shift to Apple and enjoy the benefits of a solid UI combined with a powerhouse processor.
As far as Windows10, it will be my daily Windows until it is ripped from my hands when it reaches end of support for the LTSC release in January 2029.

1st: You can simply use Windows logo+Tab shortcut to open a more “complete” version of the Alt+Tab, where it’ll ignore the Edge tabs and only focus on the separate apps, while also showing your different Desktops in case you are using multiple ones.
2nd: You can actually toggle that in the Settings menu to ignore every tab open on Edge.

Mac seems like the more refined and more polished OS in my view, but ideologically speaking, I’ve worked on not being dependent on apple products so I have more choice when it comes to hardware in the future. Spotify instead of Apple Music, OneDrive instead of iCloud, edge instead of safari because I don’t want to feel like the barrier of switching would be too high. I don’t like how apple only lets you buy apple hardware in order to use their software.
Even though I’m an iPhone user, I have the same beef with the way apple locks you in here. Ideally I’d love to switch to android but here I already feel like the switch would come at too great a cost which is kinda sad. No freedom

I have been a lifelong Windows user, and I think Windows 11 brings some amazing (if not heavily MacOS inspired) design iterations that the operating system has needed for a long time. It feels like a breath of fresh air compared to Windows 10, which in my opinion feels clunky and outdated in terms of design language. Sure, there are a number of areas that Microsoft can improve (I would love the preview functionality in File Explorer, and the UI and UX for Windows 11 still needs some work) but overall I think that Windows 11 is the most productive and well designed version of Windows yet. I won't be switching to MacOS just yet, unfortunately ;)

I regularly try out Linux on the desktop to see where it is. Right now I'm fiddling with Elementary OS, a macOS-lookalike. I suspect we'll never get to the pivotal year of the Linux desktop but at this point, it's not a bad experience although you still don't want to send Windows and macOS users into this terrirtory unless they are really tech savvy. Also, i'm now a patreon. :)

I moved from MacOS to Windows long ago. It was during the start of the Intel Mac era and subsequent period of stagnation for Mac laptops. I've always had around a 3 year upgrade cycle on laptops and I started to notice that when it came time to upgrade my Mac, it really hadn't changed much at all from what I had purchased three years earlier. Whereas, Windows laptops were going through a highly innovative period and frankly just put Apple to shame on price to performance and specs in general. Now, Apple is much more competitive with the M1 and now M2 chips, but I still just kind of frankly love Windows. As a developer, it is actually far more productive for me that MacOS ever was. Things like Windows Subsystem for Linux and the overall quality of Windows development tools are just unmatched. I also have a huge amount of issue with the iOS-ification of MacOS over the years. For me, things are no longer intuitive as an actual power user. It's probably great for the luddites of the world, but if you actually know how to use a computer properly, the "simple" UI actually gets in the way and frustrates more than helps.

Prior to 2000 I was a full on MS DOS through Windows user, in fact supported Windows and DOS as well. Returning to Windows I am quite excited.
You mentioned the connectivity/continuity of Apple devices, ah yes it is excellent. Also, after eleven years with an iPhone only I switched to Samsung Note 20; superior to any iPhone I ever owned. Microsoft adds to Android the feature "Link to Windows", thus I will have a similar experience as with the Apple ecosystem.
For me this switch is a considerably better move than upgrading my aging iPad and MBP, and less costly as well. Truly I am not denigrating Apple products, they all served me extremely well. Nor am I denigrating Apple, as I own stock in Apple truly I hope they do extremely well. For me time had come to make a change, nothing more. My move to Windows has be a breath of fresh air; extremely enjoyable.

If I pinned all my development tools (VSCode, PyCharm, JetBrains, Androis Studio, and Visual Studio) with my video/image toosl (Director Suite of tools along with Adobe) along with Epic Games Launcher, Steam and Microsoft Office products to the Windows taskbar, it would be much more crowded than most Apple Docks I have seen. Simple things like ctrl+x, the way windows can be easily arranged for multitasking, the Start menu (I keep two programs and the explorer in the menu bar, everything else I access with hitting the Windows key and start typing what I want). The Dock I always found to be cluttered and of little use. And Windows usually never just goes "beep" without at least giving you some kind of hint about what went wrong.
