Hey everyone! Just wanted to say thank you for all the love this video has been shown and also for the helpful tips regarding my switch over to MacOS! I also wanted to just clarify that while I have "switched" to Mac for the majority of my day to day work, I'm still using my PC on a near daily basis to play games. I still love both platforms I'm definitely gonna keep enjoying the strengths that both Windows and Mac have to offer!

Why always speaking of lack of integration with Windows when...you are using an iPhone. I could not leave without a good integration between Windows and my phone. That is why (among other reasons) I have Android phone. And I do the SAME that between iOS and MacOS NATIVELY without installing additional software.
What about the comment on installing or uninstalling software? You take them from the Store and you just click on install like on the iPhone. And a long press and uninstall like on the iPhone. It cannot be any simpler than that.

@@venomc3127 thanks for this tip. As All around filmmaker talked about, I'm in pretty much the same position. I've always refused to buy any Apple product out of the principal of them charging way too much money. But bought my very first Macbook pro last August and never want to go back. Also during then and now, I bought myself an iPhone 12 Pro, just because of the airdrop functionality. That is such a breath of fresh air.

I commented this on another channel, but we gotta stop treating Macs as a curse and windows pcs as a curse, just because they are different and the companies are competitive, doesn't mean we have to be, Macs have the pros and cons and so does windows, in the end the learning curve is the same wether you a lifelong pc or mac user switching over to both sides. I just love that we have these two great OS that if used together can give us everything we need and want

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but there is a paid feature called BetterSnapTool that’s 3 bucks less than a cup of coffee and it allows for the windows snapping for apps. Infinitely better that the current Mac app viewing options. Makes my Mac unusable without it imo, def worth the price.

Great video mate. I wholeheartedly appreciate both OS for what they offer and it all comes down to personal use case. I too have been a life-long Windows user and I used to think that MacBooks were overly expensive and limited until I tried the M1 Air and I was blown away by what a thin & light notebook is capable of. I wasted no time in recommending and getting my best friend to switch over to the same specced MBP as yours, since he is a music producer and immediately after switching he was quick to point out how smooth, fast and bug-free the whole process is now.

@kev So you also get more weight compared to a macbook, little battery life and a strong noise from the cooling system, macs have never been positioned as a gaming device, I'm not even talking about the other little things, gaming laptops is a dog shit (I know from personal experience)
Even if we're not talking about gaming laptops there's still the issue of battery life.

I haven’t truly put it to the test yet but so far everything runs incredibly smooth and as you said, it works really well with my other Apple products like my phone, watch and AirPods.
I do wish gaming worked better, and as you said the multi-window setup and little things are strange. But overall I have more peace of mind and confidence in the machine and the system. I never saw myself as someone who could use MacOS but my frustrations with windows got too severe. So far I am satisfied but it’s still very alien to me and I’ve got to re-learn everything.

I "switched" to Mac because the battery on my beloved but ancient ThinkPad was finally dying. I wasn't motivated by dissatisfaction with Windows, but because with M1, MacBooks had suddenly become an amazing value. I put "switched" in quotes because I don't really consider it a permanent switch. I still use my ThinkPad sometimes, and my next computer (when I get one) will be whatever seems like the best value at the time, whether Windows, Mac, or Linux.

As a part-time win developer I might argue on your speech about the app installation. I can dive really deep into this difference but I will try to be as short as possible. There are only 5-10 types of macs that are running the latest macOS (I’m talking about MBAir, MBPro, iMac, etc.). Each of them is sharing almost an identical processor. The Xcode is also only available on Mac (this is a program to code programs on Apple devices). So basically macOS developers can build their soft on their machines and distribute the pre-built app. With windows, you will never know what processor will be installed in the pc so this “long installation” is basically an app build process. That’s why windows is way more popular but way slower.

This is a lie. The reason macOS and Windows have a different app install process is all Mac apps besides a select few (the .pkg ones) all have their files self-contained. Dragging the 'icon' is effectively copying your app to macOS's Program Files, while windows install wizards have a dialog to copy the same thing. Nothing to do with compiling your application for various configurations (They're all either x86, or in rare cases Arm, which btw Macs have to deal with too, and more often because of the apple silicon transition) because all of that is handled by the HAL in all modern OSes.
What API are you using for Windows? Have you even made an .msi app?

I'm pretty set on getting a macbook soon in a similar situation to you as a windows user all my life.
So far it's seemed to me that the best option is just to own both. Even if that takes time to save - being able to have a good PC to game on and use all the programs windows has to offer is a must at this point - and windows PC's are outstanding with price to performance. Macs however win the laptop field by far. It also feels good to have a machine for personal and entertainment and one that works and looks different for getting things done.

I've just been using Magnet and it has been working for my flow, I feel like I don't have the patience to fiddle with Stage Manager enough. One thing that actually annoys me and perplexes me is the fact you just can not rename workspaces. It's a whole process to hack around it and sometimes it doesn't work so you have to restart the app, you also need to disable some security features and because of that some apps from the app store won't run with the setting turned off. There is a way to turn it on and only disable some of the elements that you would need to run the hack but really, such a simple thing should already be implemented.

Good video, and you are so right to switch. I’ve been a Widows user since 1999 with Windows 98. Always had desktops. When I had a website, my webmaster taught me how to build my own web pages. So, I got a high end Dell desktop with Windows XP pro. Had that computer 10 years, when hard drive died. Cause Dell was so reliable, I bought another high end Dell with Windows 7pro, with 2T hard drive. First off, I usually set up my own computers. This time I got lazy, and had a computer guy set it up. Not long after I got it, Windows screen kept on going out on me. Computer guy took tower, told me Dell didn’t put in enough power supply for that drive. He changed it, but other things acted up. Finally at barely 2 years, hard drive died in 2017. Dell wouldn’t replace it. I wasn’t going to buy another expensive 2T drive. Computer guy held on to tower. I didn’t bother to fix it since I no longer have a website. Now I’m in senior housing studio apartment. I got the iPhone 13 pro. My lawyer said I should really get a laptop. After the last experience with Windows, having iPhone, figured a MacBook Air would be compatible with phone. I have the M2 MacBook Air coming. After watching a ton of videos on here, I upgraded to 16 gigs of ram, and 512 SSD storage. I stuck with 8 core GPU, since several videos said not allot of difference with the 10. I’m not a gamer or graphic designer, so didn’t need the pro. I’m going to subscribe to Photoshop. This is my first laptop, so will be a learning curve. I’m excited to get it, I like that it’s light and thin.

One thing I always found annoying when I switched to Mac is you need an app for so many functions, and you either get free apps that look like garbage and have little options, or paid apps that require new versions every time you update the OS. Devs love Apple because they can nickle and dime the hell out of you. Also, multi monitor support was pretty atrocious. Aside from that, it's good stuff.

I've been using both Mac and Windows for 25+ years. I've never had any issues with multi-monitor support I run two monitors with a Mac Mini and also two on a Mac Book Pro (so laptop + 2). I do the same on Windows, though I have to say some of the windows graphics card drivers "have" given me issues with multi-monitors from time to time.
Also, I've had to acquire just as many, if not more windows apps to do simple stuff as I ever have on Mac, so maybe we just do different things :)

Really nicely put together video. I too am a recent Mac convert - albeit to a couple of older machines (2013 13" i7 Macbook Pro and 2013 15" Macbook) and I love them. Thank you. Good video. My own experience: I have been a IBM/Microsoft PC user (and system builder) since 1982. I have built a number of Intel and AMD home systems. As such I have been helping people with Computer problems for many years. Up until 3 years ago if someone told me about a problem they were having with a Mac, I would just apologize and say I wasn't familar with MacOS. One day I decided to get some level of understanding of the MacOS and bought an old 2012 MacBook on ebay. I changed the Hard drive to SSD and added memory and found that that machine was actually pretty nice to use. Well, that ended up with a purchase of a 2020 MI Mac Mini, then a 2020 Macbook air. Oh for playing around - an I7 2012 MacMini upgraded and I use Bootcamp on it as well as Catalina. The net: I have learned to love both Mac and windows (I am a retired IBM employed). Like yourself, I have found a few things that I prefer on Windows 11, like window positioning. However rectangle has been the savior for me on Mac. My goto machine when traveling is now my M1 macbook air. How sweet that machine is.

Great video! I personally switched to Mac 13 years ago, while going to college. I used Windows my whole life. My first contact with Windows was when my grandmother died back in 1998 and my dad bought his first PC. It ran Windows 95 and was great. Before graduating high school my mom bought me a desktop running Windows xp. Then while going to college I bought the biggest piece of garbage PC I’ve ever encountered. It was a Packard Bell laptop running Vista. And it crashed at least twice a day. Once it blue screened while typing an essay for a class. That was the last straw and tried to install Linux which I used on the Windows Xp desktop my mom bought me. But it wouldn’t install as my laptop was ‘tatooed’, something illegal now which locked you to a specific version of Windows which you couldn’t downgrade or install anything else. So I sold it on eBay and bought a white MacBook. Now I just bought a second hand M1 MacBook Air after using a hackintosh I put together myself for the past 5 years.

Thanks for making this video! I’m about to go into grad school and your video definitely was the final push I needed to switch to MacBook Pro. I had a surface book 2 for my undergrad (which was very expensive), but I didn’t have the best experience with it. Similar to what some other people said, I’ll keep my windows PC around for gaming, and use MacBook for everyday tasks. We are definitely in the same situation here because I have been using windows for a LONG time but at the same time I also have all the Apple products but the computer haha

I used MSDOS at the beginning. I thought I would never change from PC and Windows. In March of 2021, I bought the base M1 MBA because everyone was raving about it. I just wanted to try it out. Long story short, I wish I had bought the 16GB version for running Parallels because virtualization is better with more resources. I know it sounds a bit wishy-washy but most of my accounting and tax software is PC only.

Amazing video, excellent editing! I can't say I've ever fully switched away from Windows, where I work in I.T it simply is the more common operating system so you can't really get away from it. I do however prefer to use Mac OS in my personal life, I find the OS more fun to use honestly while still being very practical. There absolutely are drawbacks, gaming for me being the biggest where it really is in a bad state right now but even then I've moved more towards console gaming recently so it's become less of an issue.

Thanks for the video and sorry to hear you had so many problems with your previous laptop. However, based on your other Apple purchases you are a perfect candidate for an Apple laptop to my way of thinking.
My experience with Windows and Android products has been excellent so far. I very much admire Apple products, but I have not found a reason to switch from my Android smartphone or Windows PC. I must admit, Apple feels from my experience a very purpose designed set of products that meets many customer requirements. But when I review and compare Apple with other Windows and Android products available, Apple has felt to me to be limiting from design to features available to application availability. But Apple was superior in product integration and customer service. Though product integration is not exclusive to Apple anymore. More on that later.

In my case, I needed to replace my laptop PC and I decided to include the Apple MacBook Air M1 (the Apple M1 was the most current model when I was looking to buy). The Apple MacBook Air M1 is a beautiful thin and light laptop with great battery life, beautiful display, great build quality and feels premium to hold. But once I reviewed and compared what I prefer in a laptop, the Apple MacBook Air M1 came up short.
For me, there are features and designs I have come to think of as a must have in a modern laptop. My previous laptop was the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, a wonderful PC to own and use every day. When I compared my seven-year-old Windows PC with the Apple’s MacBook Air M1, I realized that I was giving up too much for what the Apple MacBook Air M1 has to offer. The Apple MacBook Air M1 is a wonderful 13-inch laptop for personal computing. But it was no match for the form factors, designs, apps, and features of Windows PCs. If your requirements are for a tried-and-true clamshell laptop design, then Apple and Windows have plenty to choose from. However, if you want an OLED display (in my case Super AMOLED), Multitouch display, Pen inking capability, convertible or 360 form factors, and to connect to any device, you simply cannot find an Apple product to compare with.
When I compared my selection of premium designed Windows PCs to the beautiful Apple MacBook Air M1, the MacBook Air M1 remains a solid laptop, but with limited features. One of the key design advantages of the Apple Ecosystem is the product integration and convenience of the Apple iPhone iPad, Apple Watch and Apple Earbuds all communicating together. The Windows/Android products simply could not compete in this area of technology. Well, until 2021 when Samsung Galaxy announced the Galaxy Book Series of Windows PCs. Samsung now offers product integration for the Galaxy line of products which include smartphone, smartwatch, earbuds, tablet, Smart Monitor, Smart TV and SmartThings to link to a host of other products from lights to garage doors to security to appliances to heating and cooling. The Windows and Android ecosystem just received a hand up into the world of modern living for convenience and control.
Over time I have upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, Galaxy Tablet, Galaxy earbuds, Smart Monitor and Galaxy Book Windows PC. I did not plan to buy into the Samsung line of products, it just turns out that way over time. My Windows PC experience has been in a word, fantastic. The PC brands I have used are Lenovo ThinkPad and Microsoft Surface and now Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 15-inch. All my PCs are still running today after years of service.
I cannot say what Apple integration will be beyond their personal tech products. But what I have experience to date from Samsung is a very satisfying integration with Windows and Android products and the selection and availability of apps and peripherals that goes well beyond what Apple offers today.
But in the end, I am with you, the best tech is the tech that works best for you. In my case it has turned out to be Samsung integrating the best of Windows and Android.

yeah, he was the perfect candidate and the bad luck he had with one Windows device just closed the deal.... I am an Samsung phone user (since 2011) and have both Macs (including M1) and WIndows PCs (but use Windows much more) and both iPads (including M1) and Galaxy Tabs (including the S8 ultra) but use iPads much more... I don't plan on getting another Samsung laptop, I think they are not great (for many reasons) and the weak link of Samsung ecosystem (and instead use a thinkpad as the main laptop). Overall I prefer Windows to MacOS, although I much prefer the efficiency and quiet operation of M1 devices

I would be interested if you are willing to share your experience with the Samsung laptop you commented on. I have the Galaxy Book Pro 360 15-inch and it has been fantastic, especially in creating the hub for Samsung's ecosystem. The Galaxy Book Pro 360 has been excellent, but it is not perfect, and I have not experienced the perfect laptop from any brand to date. I cannot speak to apple laptops as I have limited experience with their products during evaluation prior to purchase of my Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360.
I continue to be impressed with Apple products in general, but my positive experience and comparative evaluation of Windows and Android products has me always saying to myself, there is little to nothing Apple offers over Windows and Android. In fact, I always find Apple products offering less in features, design options, and performance for my use case and workflow. That said, every review of Apple products that I have read or watched gives Apple the best performance with battery life, efficient power and tight integration for hardware, software, and services. But I already have the best integrated experience with Samsung's ecosystem today and more when I compared it to Apple and Google.
I guess at the end of the day, it comes down to what you need or want from your tech brand of choice. As long it meets your requirements that is all that matters.

The way I look at it, both Macs and PC have their places in society. I personally use mainly Apple stuff, but have been wanting to use Windows and Linux more often as well as I want to get into the IT field, and like to familiarize myself with different technologies. I would mainly use Apple's native apps for all my notes, documents, etc. but have been considering switching to a program that spans across most platforms and still gives me the capabilities to work on all of my devices. I have already switched from Safari to Chrome as it syncs across multiple platforms, and I plan to switch to Microsoft office for most of my document and note taking programs. It is challenging to try to utilize different platforms all at once, but it's not impossible, and it can be done.

I also just could not agree more about what you said about people that get too locked into one camp. its like they get all tribal about mac or PC, I personally use both and they both have their strengths and weaknesses. although I have too say, after trying the few supported games on steam that do work properly on my macbook. I really wish AAA gaming wasnt PC's stronghold because this m1 runs games so unbelievably efficiently its just mind boggling. the games that are supported I can run everything maxed out on m1 and at the same time have 3-4 hours of battery life. that is alien level of efficiency, my razer blade gaming laptop that gets the same FPS I might add, only lasts 45 minutes. how is this even possible. the freaking macbook fan doesnt even start spinning until 5 minutes in, and its not like ramping up high at all. it seriously feels alien compared to what im used to.

The way you multitask on MacOS isn’t threw split few but with Mission Control. There is almost no need to see more than two windows at once most of the time so I think it is almost as good although windows has a similar feature but not as simple.

yeah, I almost never do two windows that take up 100% of the total combined real estate. I double-tap on the mouse for mission control or cmd+tab, sometimes I'll get spicy and turn on stage manager. Personal preference I guess.

There is always an option for us viewers to add music tracks from home, if desired. I would also not start almost every sentence with 'Now'. Thanks again.

Salutation brother. Great video on an ever on going topic. Myself I can never use a mac I just find it a child like experience like using my first leapfrog laptop. No disrespect to any mac users but I like the freedom to build and explore with multiple OSs and tech built into the OS without having 30 other programs to achieve 1 task e.g. WSL, hyper-v, Windows sandbox for example and there are so useful and amazing coupled with Windows terminal. Visual code, etc.
I see no reason to mix and match. If I want Linux I use either hyper-v or WSL and if I test a website I'm not sure of I use Windows sandbox which is a containerised version of Windows. I close it deletes simple. Each to their own but I'm Microsoft.
I just got the surface laptop 5 15" and Windows dev kit 2023 which is Windows 11 on Arm. Beautifully designed and ready to rock. Enjoy whatever tech your into.

Been a Mac fan since OS X El Capitan (I got my first MacBook Air for Christmas 2015, when I was 11).
A lot of people don't get Macs until they reach college age, and I was very lucky to get a Mac at such an early age.
I am used to the interface of macOS, previously OS X. Yes, it has its problems, like its window management being inferior to that of Microsoft Windows, but I can't really seem to translate my skills on a Windows laptop.
Because I currently use a refurbished MacBook Pro from 2015, I am in desperate need of an upgrade. I do CPU intensive work, namely music production, video editing, and a little bit of graphic design alongside playing Minecraft.
A MacBook Air, even the M2, is not really ideal for this workload, which is why I'm looking to upgrade to at least the M2 Pro MacBook Pro.

Nice video! I considered MacOS, but I found the Zephyrus G15 I picked up for $1099 to be an overall better value than a MacBook air would've been for me. I will say Windows and Android integration is getting pretty good, and thanks to things like the Phone Link app and Nearby Share for windows, I can seamlessly send files to my computer, message, take calls (this one has been a bit finicky), etc. My one complaint has been the seemingly poor Bluetooth range I've been getting on my earbuds, but I suspect it's an issue on their end as it happens with my iPad pro as well.

Makes copying files across drives way easier, IMO

Okay. What I want to do is give my perspective as a windows user.
Firstly, I own a business that builds custom PC's for photographers, videographers, music producers, you name it, we make it. We even will try to build budget PC's as long as the build fee is covered since we have no parts overhead. I have been building PC's my whole life and use plenty of windows laptops and I use a surface book 2 with a core i7 and gtx 1060. I have several PC's at home and considering I actually have a day job, I build PC's for my company as well.
Now that that is out of the way, my experience:
I rarely have crashing PC's, my own or the ones I built or bought. Usually BSOD's happen due to failing hardware, drivers, or someone tinkering with something they shouldn't have, like overclocking. Personally, I deal with BSOD's only when I am tinkering with my own personal stuff, but with anything I use for work and need to be reliable, it never happens. Literally never. I don't use anti virus software either, not at home, not at work. Its just not necessary, and I have only used anti viruses back in the windows XP days, since 7, the default windows defender has done a great job.
There are a TON of people who claim their PC's crash and freeze, and usually, there is a perfectly explainable reason for this. Usually it is user error/damage. This isn't window's fault. Just like the laptop that you had that "broke", that is hardware failure, that isn't microsoft's fault. Hardware can fail on ANY device, and apple is actually NOTORIOUS for hardware breaking through planned obsolescence. So I would reevaluate how you view your tech, you seem to have a very "apple user" view. You buy device, and it better work and its not your fault. Well, sometimes it is, and you just don't know it because you didn't bother to use google. Not being mean, just stating facts. Also, macs get viruses, just google it. Apple literally spends money on marketing that macs don't get viruses, which was later a law suit.
So as far as hardware, who knows, your box could have been dropped during shipping to best buy and then you were the end user who suffered. This could happen to anyone, and not really a valid reason to "switch to mac". More like, you didn't bother buying a DIFFERENT windows laptop.
Installing programs on windows works this way because the windows store is pointless. Why? MONEY. The Apple store and the entire application process on apple is designed to bring in revenue. The whole Epic Games v Apple debate was precisely because of that. The reason it all works so well is because IT BETTER work well when there is money on the line. Windows (and linux) is pretty much a free for all. Anyone can install anything, anywhere. The benefit to windows, is backwards compatibility. I can install software from decades ago as long as it worked on windows 95+. Its that simple.
Ecosystem. Cant argue anything here, apple owns all of its products and therefore it works. They also spent billions on trying to shut down windows phone, which was a superior operating system with zero app support. Google deliberately didn't launch its own apps on windows phone and apple paid others like spottily to not do so either. In the end, the most innovative mobile OS in history died because of corporate greed. But I digress, today is today, and apple won the ecosystem game.
Optimization is..well..bullshit. What you mean is apple's own apps work better on apple's own hardware. I would love to see apple's software work better on intel or amd, or windows software work better on apple. Its a software war, and a war on your perception of reality. Apple has the ability to gimp all other applications and make their own work better. The end. And they do it too, there is plenty of evidence. But as an end user, you have to use what works best.
As far as functionality, windows is flat out better. It has a proper file system UI, it has long term backwards compatibility, it has an easy way to repair/reinstall from a basic flash drive, remote desktop alone is why corporations use windows. Multi window is enough to keep me on windows, try doing any kind of cad engineering work like I do without multi window.
Apple security is also...a joke. Its a marketing illusion. They do everything other companies do, like tracking, snooping, data collection, and etc. Just because they say they don't, doesn't mean its true, and I still don't get why people trust what corporations say. The only software I trust that does not, is self installed LINUX.
I am sure I could cover a whole bunch of other things, for example, the 200$ ram upgrade cost on mac's. Who pays 200$ for an extra 8GB of ram? Who wants a notch on their screen, or the fact that its USB-C only? The issue is, you can't look at Mac exclusively without looking at the hardware, where as on windows, the software and hardware are independent. As a software tool, windows is as versatile as it can get without learning command line code on linux, and the hardware can be what ever you need/want, which is why I build PC's for people. I understand some people need a laptop, but at that point I just recommend microsoft's surface line up, Dell XPS Lineup, or Razer.
Now, I want to point out some negatives about "windows", and not windows itself, but rather the "ecosystem".
    1) Prebuilt PC and laptop makers need to stop installing bloatware such as anti-viruses and other bs no one needs. A clean windows install is fast, simple, and doesn't start out with a performance penalty out of the box.
    2) Most windows laptops are only now starting to match a macbook in size/slimness but usually at the cost of battery life, and a big reason for this is intel chips are power hungry, and intel pays these companies to deliberately not use the more power efficient AMD chips. AMD since 2016 has been the defacto performance/watt king.
    3) Most windows laptop makers seriously have very little control over how they are built and what goes into them other than the plastics and keyboard and screen. The chips are all dictated by intel and/or amd and nvidia. The level of tuning is very limited.
    4) Windows doesn't have a standby mode that can match apple. Period. Hibernate is as close as it gets, and its hit or miss. Windows laptops even with efficient chips just suck at standby battery life because its pretty much on the chip maker to implement this. Although it has gotten better, its not there yet.
    5) Because of said chip makers, apple can build a zero fan machine that can actually do work. Its nearly impossible to make a windows machine ground up using one manufacturer. The chip makers hold the laptop makers by the balls.
    6) Trying to understand WTF you are buying is nearly impossible on windows laptops without having some technical knowledge, and laptop makers suck at marketing.
And finally, the reason apple makes sure that its software and hardware prioritizes creators, is because creators are the ones willing to not look at the price tag. The majority of people can live with a 500-600$ windows laptop or 300$ chromebook and get 99% of their work done without a hitch. But only creators have the "if it works great I will pay any money" mentality. Like I said before, 200$ for 8GB of RAM. Have you seen RAM Prices? 16GB costs around 60$, and the fact that apple has unified memory makes it even cheaper to make. So again, you have simply proved apples marketing devision is by far the most powerful machine since Hitlers propaganda machine. It freaking works.
But I get it. Work has no time to wait, stuff must get done and done on time. I am glad that the mac has improved your work flow, and if I didin't know anything about you except that you do videos, I would have pretty much told you to go buy a mac.

I grew up in Cupertino with my parents BOTH working for AMD in the 80s and 90s. So I used it all. Ive switched back and forth for years but and for years Mac hardware has let me down while Windows software was the reverse. But now, literally most of my computing needs are met by a freaking iPad Pro M2. A TABLET.
While I still have my custom gaming PC (from 2019) for all of the windows games I still have, I rarely use it for anything else. iCloud, my other apple devices, just work so damn well together. I absolutely love the Apple M chips.
My work computer is Windows 11 and it BSODs almost every other day. While my iPad is rock solid. It has literally never crashed, despite running for 2 years straight at this point.

I've been a Windows guy forever. But MacBooks are legit now that they have their own processors. When it comes to a machine strictly for productivity, Apple can't be beat.
If you look around you can snag an M1 MacBook Air for around $600 lightly used which is just frankly an insane value and what I'll be using for work. The battery life on these things is next level and game changing. I have an Asus Zephyrus G15 with a 3070 and it's amazing. It's truly the best gaming laptop out there. The non gaming stuff like the trackpad and keyboard are so good and the battery life is really really good for a gaming laptop. But still nowhere near an M1/M2 Mac.
I'm still going to build up a desktop for gaming. I also am a huge fan of Windows 11. There's so many quality of life updates they've made and it actually looks quite nice.
But it's time to make the switch. If I end up liking it enough I may spring for an M2 Air with 16GB of RAM because that redesign is really nice.
I feel like Apple is really converting a lot of people. They've really got things figured out right now.

I'm exactly in the same situation.
It took me months to adapt my Macbook. Like someone said in the comments, you have to use a lot of 3rd party apps. Crappy free ones or pay and pay and pay for every tweak.
    This is what I changed:
    - 3rd party: Clipboard history
    - 3rd party: Invert mouse scroll (different direction than the trackpad)
    - 3rd party: Map mouse buttons. Trackpad is great but mouse support isn't.
    - 3rd party: Set specific areas for snapping windows
    - Finder is awful. Column view is Ok but not perfect. photos management there is just bad. Thank God for the space bar to preview them. I needed a 3rd party app to organize photos and edit. Windows is much better for file management and photos. For example you can't hide file extensions because lots of files have a check box to show it overriding the system configuration to hide them. Or why can't I delete a file by pressing the delete button?
    - 3rd party. The red x on the windows doesn't close the app when you close all of them. You have to use cmd+q or tweak that with an app.
    - office and onedrive integration is Ok but not as good. If you work with big companies you need to use all that a lot. It can't even save pdfs from word or PowerPoint correctly.
    - security is just excessive. Like you said it took me an hour of password inputs, a paid app and modifying the kernel to allow me to read ntfs drives. And you have to changes lots of security settings manually for almost every new program.
    - external monitor management is lackluster.
    - I think the keyboard has one too many modifiers. Shift, FN, control, option, Cmd... It's just confusing when to use one or the other for a shortcut.
    - took me a while but found an International keyboard setting to use less keystrokes to write some characters I needed. Windows has it available as default. Needed an app to install a new keyboard distribution.
    - why don't the just implement CUT (cmd+x) system wide?
    - uninstalling a programs leaves a lot of crap laying around the os.
    - I reeeeally miss touching the screen
    - gaming is non existent.
That said I'm sticking with Mac after using windows for 30 years.
    - battery is superb. i leave the charger at home.
    - The ecosystem is amazing
    - build quality and speed is great.
    - the silence and coolness allowed me to use it as an actual lap top again.
