Those captured screws are nice to have. Also, that display setup is pretty trick. I was about to ask if you printed those brackets but then saw the handy link to your writeup on it. Very cool!

Thank you for watching. I am using that display setup now while I type this response. I do wish more companies took the time to make their products more servicable, similar to this laptop. I would say, of all the machines I have laid screwdriver upon, this one is the most enjoyable. To be continued when I end up replacing my keyboard.

Very nice! The keyboard on my XPS is going bad. Unfortunately, replacing it entails almost completely disassembling it so it’s a big job. I haven’t quite worked up the nerve to do it yet and have been just working around the bad keys. Guess I have to just suck it up and get it done. Thanks for the video!

Have you purchased the keyboard yet? I have mine sitting on the shelf in my desk waiting for me to bite the bullet on that. It's going to be quite the job and will require some patience on my part.
      Thanks for watching!

@@CubicleNate I did. It's been in the office for a few days but I haven't decided when I want to spend the time doing it. It's going to be trivial so I need to set aside half a day or so to do it. Basically, once the current one annoys me enough I'll change it out.

Currently, my keyboard is holding out so I'm just going to let it be for now. I really wish laptop manufacturers would go back to producing quality keyboards.

Hello, I have the same laptop and I also want to upgrade my ram but I cannot seem to find the same ram board. Could you please let me know if you had any problem with yours and what is the exact ram module that you used for the upgrade? Thanks and good job!

Hi, I have noticed that on your model there is no SSD or RAM aluminium heat protector shield covers. On some toutorials there are thiny covers on both parts RAM and SSD (M2). I opened mine elitebook g7 840 to add memory and also noticed that since new, there is no those covers. It is interesting if having them would reduce actual tepm of internal parts. My laptops sometimes goes up to 90-99C for few seconds and then cools donw. It was like this from new. Performance is fine. I am just suprised that not all of them have those covers. What is your professional oponion regarding those covers? Shall I add them to my laptop? Best regards and thanks for this video.

I have the same device and I believe I need more memory. What models are you currently using?

I would have to take the machine apart to find out. This will be happening soon as I have to replace the keyboard on this and I am not looking forward to the pain of it all.
