Somebody had to have a job with a paycheck, do the laundry, buy groceries, feed the fish.
@@babsbybend no no, he's talking about Arthur calling him that
I love how both mark and Steven have their own version of the suit. It is such a great creative choice
Yeah, even if it doesn’t pay homage to the comics, it’s still nice to see that they’re fine with swapping it up a little
It.. does pay homage, though? The suit is nearly identical to the "Mr. Knight" suit and run
@@jchicken5305 it is a homage thought, the suit is ripped straight from the comic
@@y2kay320 yeah it doesnt make sense tho
Indeed!
Detail a lot of people missed, the door number to Steven’s “flat” is 502, which is also the area code to Guatemala, the country in which Oscar Isaac was born

Never knew that. Great find
That’s a deep cut.
ok
@@Subject_4 hello fellow subject 4!
I like the idea of Mister Knight being the more “detective” version since it’s been shown that Steven is indeed very smart and has a variety of knowledge which with more confidence, and maybe so guidance from Layla, Steven/Mr. Knight could become just as useful of a avatar.
That's why I can't wait to see that kind of Mr.Knight in next episodes!
that’s usually how it is in the comics except mr knight is usually marc’s third identity who is jake lockley, he’s just a cab driver but he acts more as a detective but for a while marc wears the mr knight suit because he’s having a conflict with khonshu and not listening to him
ok
I like his acknowledgement that he fantasizes about killing Donna, lol.
Don't we all
I do too just from watching it
To be honest, I do too
Id do it for free
I felt so bad when Steven got locked into his subconscious, he sounded so scared and uncomfortable.
imagine how marc must’ve felt all that time, or any other personality stuck in there
@@issy785 I know but we don't get to see that, yet. Just the way Oscar Issac portrayed Steven Grant's fear at being locked inside his own head was gripping and just hands down amazing acting.
Marc is the main character Steven is a personality of Marc’s so technically it’s not Steven body
Well that’s what I got from reading up on it comic books
@@shanettahodge5080 i really wish marc and steven team up it would be cool to see
I can speak for everyone when I say we didnt expect marvel to give us this much only in episode 2. The rest of these episodes are gonna be epic.

And it’s only one actor such amazing talent

i like it
This episode really encapsulated the mental conflict of Moon Knight. Can’t wait to see what they do next

or am I just confused?
@9k thanks
@@emyf9197 Marc and Steven are both the same person, but split personality. The moon knight avatar further divides them by making it so Steven doesn’t know about the other one, well until noe

why has nobody mention that Harrow was Konshu’s former avatar? seems like a pretty big detail to me
Yeh true
Big question
They talk about it during their Inside Marvel video
@@DavidTokugi44 can you link the vid?
These Easter egg vids are mostly tenuous links thrown together
Harrow failed to mention that an amputation is only done when there is no other option, as a last ditch effort. Either you lose or limb or risk death
He’s obviously not very right in the head, probably how Khonshu chose him as an avatar
My friend got stabbed in the main artery and the only way to save him was to amputate his leg
The whole identity of Steven Grant seems to be developed from Layla
Like how they both have same favourite poet.
Both have knowledge in scripture and both wanna confront Marc about something.
Maybe when Marc's mind split, it was because of love for Layla that Steven Grant was created.
Also maybe as a way to counter Arthur's judgement. Which could indicate that Marc might have committed sins.
probably the greatest sin of all, premarital sex
Yeah, I truly agree!! Within dissociative personality disorder, it is common that certain personality traits are developed on a known basis within the mind before becoming them. Because just like dreaming, you can't develop them from scratch. So Marc loves Layla to much. And from that love, his mind created an alter ego based on Layla, minus that badass aspects ofc.
marc is a mercenary I think his sins will be murder
@@apple-de8tx premarital sex ? Huh 😑 then half human race must go hell Lol

@@mymomsbasement69 whats that gotta do with this comment? Lol
i want to see more marc spectre and his backstory of how he got resurrected, hpefully in a future seried or movie, we get to see jake lokley
I don’t see anyone else pointing it out, but beginning at 19:02 when his eyes start changing you can see a crescent moon form before they become fully white. Seems like a pretty sick detail for the symbol he represents.
Oh wow, just went back and checked it. That is really awesome.
I literally NEVER cared about Moon Knight and thought he was lame in everything I heard about him. Now I can honestly say that he’s becoming one of my favorite characters
Moon Knight in the comics is NOT the same Moon Knight in the MCU.
Plus, each version of Moon Knight changed in each comic so there’s that as well.
Honestly I think Mr Knight will be goofy like this at first, but then once he gains confidence I think he'll be the "fancy" Mr Knight like in the comics. Plus I'm glad they're making Mr Knights Steven's version of the moon knight suit, and not just another version of Marc like in the comics. And as a huge fan of Moon Knight from the comics, I like this version of Mr Knight. Not everything needs to be a 100% copy amd paste from the comics. I love when the MCU takes its own spin of stories and characters
Same
Me toooo, I love that it was Steven’s suit, which means Steven got his own special abilities, yesss
@@ironicanimations same
who is mr knight?
@@destinyhero4795 when he was in the fancy suit... that's Mr Knight
I just gotta say Oscar Isaac is one hell of an actor and surprising good in this role!
bruh, he has oscar in his name, of course he's a good actor
I loved it when Layla said “Summon the suit” then Marc said “Summon the soup?”. cause before that scene he was eating a “soup”, and no knowledge of the suit or whatsoever.
I do enjoy the fact that they accurately portrayed Mr. Knight as just a suit and not a separate personalized like how he was when Mr. Knight was originally introduced
I can imagine once he's come to terms with his powers, Steven shows up to a crime scene fully suited up and helps local authorities crack the case. When they ask him who he is, he awkwardly answers "Moon Knight" and the authorities, assuming it's just a really weird given name, start calling him "Mr. Knight."
this is amazing
That'd be fun!
Oh how much I want this to be real pleaseee
Better known by his full name, M. Knight Shyamalan.
@@aditya-71 LOL! I see what you did there
I love how this Episode sort of poses the question if Mark and Konshu are really the good guys
Marc, Khonsu are conflicted, Steven is adorably good but Jack Lockley (if they do him) is likely more than a little evil.

@@panicow6005 I could see it, but my guess as of now, it's Marc
Was not a fan of the changes they did with taskmaster, or ancient one, or some ppl of the eternals. But, i gotta say, the spin they did in Mr. Knight being an extension if steven rather than marc is an excellent choice.
Me too.I think it suits Steven's personality.
No pun intended.
the ancient one is the only good one
the eternals are really good, different gods from different cultures
i am so thankful they're making steven into mr. knight and marc into moon knight. i've never read the comics of him and sorta worried they'd do the whole "character starts off weak and cowardly but becomes strong and courageous" arc that's everywhere. instead, he's adapting to who he is. steven is becoming his own moon knight. sure, if there's a fight, marc is on the scene. but, if there's a murder case, you can count on steven
marc acting like an embarrassed older brother when steven transforms them into mr. knight is the cutest and the funniest thing i've ever watched
Really wasted Mr Knight just to be a joke
@@bluevegeta4565 We'd probably get more of Mr Knight in the series. As for jokes, I don't see it.
@@bluevegeta4565 ...
@@bluevegeta4565 I see why comic fans are sad about this, I myself didn’t Love it but it didn’t kill me either. The problem is Mr Knight was created as a persona so Marc isn’t against the law, who’s a great detective and brawler. In this he’s Stevens “suit” that he put together last second.
@@jchicken5305 i think they are gonna have Marc use the Moon suit while Stephen learns to fight and grow in the Mr suit
At the end Marc also had a bloody hand so it’s more likely Marc tried to break the mirror trying to keep Steven out!
I thought the same thing kinda like him breaking the mirror was him getting rid of Steven
Yeah, but to me it looked as if Steven was wondering where he was
I think it's more like Marc is angry with himself and his life. Because in the end we can see Steven has no clue what's going on. And it's not only the mirror that broken, also other things, right?
@@euclodies1719 i think the fabric falling off the mirror is probably the first time trapped steven gets a good look at the outside world since their argument at the church yard. marc has been probably breaking and/or covering every reflective surface to keep steven out, since he really really doesn't want steven being his loud and angry conscience
15:46 I thought that Ammit, being a god, can use Harrow’s magic tats to perceive a person’s entire lifespan and judges them based on evil they will do, which is very different from judging them for something they *might* do.
I wonder if the executions Arthur was talking about maybe hints at a twist that Marc was one of the people who got executed too. Since Konshu says that Marc was basically a corpse before he decided to take control of his body.
Wouldn't Arthur recognise him if he saw him again

I like how they are building up Steven Grant becoming the Mr. Knight persona and taking on being a detective. He's honestly so clever, just often cowardly. Would make for a great arc.
Konshu is up to something suspicious, he’s not telling us everything he knows

Konshu is definitely being shady he clearly won't give up Mark's body and is blackmailing him to do his bidding by threatening his wife.
I loved that Mr. Knight was Steven's interpretation of "summon the suit". It made so much sense since he has no idea what Moonknight/Marc wears. Great touch that he has the strength but does not have any combat experience
I love how it’s going in a dark sorta daredevil direction. Like Steven with his bloody hands and mark like straight up drunk and depressed. I absolutely love it
Hey, you missed a rather interesting Easter egg in the apartment. You were almost there when talking about his books. There was a copy of the Nebra Sky Disk leaning on a table. There is controversy over it's age whether it's early Bronze Age or Iron Age. The reason it's relevant is they believe it was used to track the position of the Sun and Moon.
This was a fantastic episode. This series really has the promise to become the best out of all other disney+ses combined. Can't wait to see how the story unfolds.
Oh I’m not sure about that I personally don’t think they will ever top Wandavision but it definitely has great promise and really enjoying it so far
I had no idea who moon knight was but I went back and read the comics, definitely my favorite character now even buying the merch which I NEVER do. Agreed best Disney Plus series although Wanda Vision and Loki were spectacular as well
Lmao
I think it can top Wanda vision but not loki
@@middleofnowhere6752 Wandavision was not very good overall
The other reason hound of the Baskervilles is important is because Sherlock was only in it at the beginning of the novel and at the end. His “bumbling“ sidekick is the main hero of the story. And Dr. Watson even finds Sherlock Holmes at the end disguised as another personality, hiding in a hut with a cot and some food and guns. It’s quite literally the same story arc as Steven in this episode

@@SOUND_FACTORY Sherlock Holmes is probably the most well known piece of british pop culture ever, you being ignorant doesnt mean this person is particularly nerdy or anything
Yeah I mean it's honestly a pretty close comparison from Marc/Steven to Holmes and Watson. Especially considering that Watson was always the POV character of the books, and steven is the eyes through which we are learning about this world
I also liked this because the other Stephen is played by someone who played Sherlock

I think the scene (9:42) with Layla and Marc's reflection on the fish tank is a reference to Romeo and Juliet (1996) starring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio. It's the scene when Romeo and Juliet first see each other through a fish tank at a party.
Yeahhh
Egyptology-speak: If it’s made of wood, it’s a coffin. If it’s made if stone it’s a sarcophagus. Sarcophagus meaning “flesh eater,” a reference to the seemingly accelerated decomposition of bodies when placed in limestone sarcophagi.
I like how Arthur said they all know three languages which mirrors how Steven knows English, French, and Egyptian
What if Marc created Steven personality in pain when he depart with Layla, that's why Layla and Steven have common interests.
Thats what i was thinking as well. Kinda like marc's coping mechanism for loosing layla
What i think as well
Yeah, I’m trying to rap my head around if Steven and mark where 1 mind since birth or mark created Steven later on in life because the one part of the episode where Steven was in the mirror mouthing off to Steven about ruining his life. I thought to myself either they’ve been together since the very beginning or mark doesn’t want to tell Steven that he is a made up personality because that for sure would destroy their relationship or the hope to ever have one.

Another detail for the episode
When the agents arrive and close the door the door has a number 502, which is the phone area code of the country Guatemala, which is Oscar's home country. Noticed instantly and was so happy a neighbor country has a reference in the MCU.

khonshu huddled up on the roof, watching over his avatar and framing the light with his staff is my absolute favorite shot this series so far, and one of my favorite shots in marvel. it's just so cool!!
When Steven was running from Khonsu, as he rounds a corner in the storage facility, his shadow creates a crescent moon on the floor.
I don’t know anything about Moon Knight’s comic book origin. I only knew about Mr. Knight’s existence from the posters and videos like this. While watching this episode, I just casually thought to myself, “I wonder. Maybe Moon Knight is Marc’s superhero identity and Mr. Knight will be Steven’s.” And turns out this is the idea they’re going for. I really like it and think it’s cool. It gives Steven a path to grow as his own character.
In the comics, it’s a bit different. Not 100% sure but either Mr Knight is another personality, or he’s both Marc and Steven. But I love how they did it here. Allows us to have more time with Steven, because making another identity will mean less time and development for the 2 personalities
I agree. Having separate suits allows viewers to keep track of which personality is behind the suit easier and they somehow both fit their personalities. Marc with a dark overwhelming suit and Stephen with a friendly tuxedo.
moon knight is marcs superhero. marc is stevens alter and vice versa. konshuu gives marc the power but as its a D.I.D system they both have the power
Scan the QR code when he goes to his storage unit!!! It's a cool little easter egg and I'm guessing the comic this episode might be based on
“Float like a butterfly sting like a be my name is Steven with a v” one of the funniest line from the marvel movies

Update: what Arthur put in his shoe was not glass it was crystal you can tell because when he stroked the rim it made a resonating, ringing noise which doesn’t happen with glass but does with crystal.
It happens with glass
I absolutely loved this episode and I love how Mark summons his Moon knight suit and his alter ego Steven summons his version which is Mr. Knight (detective) absolutely brilliant 👏 I can't wait to see the next episode. I felt a bit sad for Steven because you could actually feel his character and even tho its the same actor it doesn't feel like it because of how the two are polar opposites which is splendid acting. In that end scene, Marc's hand is also bloody and he is also wearing a necklace (presumably the same Star of David). The blood is on opposites hands only because Steven is a reflection. When staring at a reflection, your left hand would appear as your right. Given the mirror is broken, I think it is safe to assume Marc punched the mirror then threw the curtain over it.

I really think that the character arc is that Oscar Isac's different personas have to work together. Mark is the bad ass fighter merc Moon Knight, and Stephen is going to develop Mr knight into the suave detective Mr Knight.... oooor it's just all in his head.
Surprised there was no real discussion (here or on the reaction/review video) over Arthur killing the follower at the end of the episode without the victim having been judged by the scales of Ammit. That seems to go completely against everything Harrow is preaching.
Also utterly pointless...
Unless he needs to 'recharge' after using the staff...?

The reveal of konshu in the hallway is one of the best pieces of cinematography I’ve seen in a while.
The summoning of the suit was epic
Important to note is that Khonsu is the god of Time- he literally gambled an extra day away to nut- so that may have effects on how Marc can travel so fast. Judging from Khonsu's comments on Steven, it sounds like he'd do anything to keep steven's personality dormant.
(This aged well)
Isn’t that like in one of the like books that’s the Egyptian version of Percy Jackson

Khonshu is the Egyptian God of the Moon. He's a Lunar God.

this channel blows my mind i cant encapsulate how much i love the content
these videos are underrated, i really enjoy them and i feel like you give the directors and crew the justice their work deserves
When Steven is Moon Knight his weapons are batons, weapons meant for bon lethat takedowns, which is juxtaposed by Mark's weapons as Moon Knight
The song "Bela Lugosi's Dead" from Bauhaus played in this episode as well. It was the scene where Steven was talking to the person at the front desk of the storage facility. I'm wondering if this was a subtle call out to the Dracula money Moon knight meme.
I literally screamed when I heard that song in the episode.
Thank you for posting this! When I saw that in the end credits, I was like, *_WHERE??_* That song is INSTANTLY recognizable, for goths or former goths! 😏😉 I couldn't believe I missed it!!
Nice last name, BTW.
@@peopleperson lol same here 😂
@@johndanielsforJesus You're Welcome! 🖤 I immediately recognized the song but it was so quiet that I can understand missing it the first time. Yes! I agree, it is definitely a very iconic song in the goth community.
Great Video. Thanks for posting !!! 🙏🙏
18:14 I like how in that comic art, Marc’s hair on his forehead takes the shape of a Moon
So happy you mentioned the part where he says “wargwan” if your from england you understand how important this dialogue is!!
