I like that when it came to the council of gods judging Harrow, they didn't punish him as he had not done anything yet, which is how Khonshu deals justice. Harrow wouldn't have got away with it if they used Ahmit's way of judgement, which demonstrates Harrow's reasoning for "true" justice.
But they didn’t even investigate? Yeah a crime wasn’t committed, but are we going to ignore Ammit’s large group of tattooed minions digging aimlessly in the desert? A few lies and that’s all it takes? No evidence? Exhibit ABC? Not even a least bit interested in a former Avatar that has been building a pretty sizable cult after all these years?
I thought the irony was really interesting that the council of the gods judged Arthur innocent because he hadn't yet committed a crime when his whole thing is punishment regardless of whether or not a crime has yet been committed.
That exact same thought was going through my head right after the scene. Arthur knows he's playing the council. Assuming the council is not teaming up with him of course lol

Yep. Because if it was time travelling then there should also be a glimpse of day time. It's just night sky visual altering because Khonshu said himself that he remember every night sky. I also believe that visual altering affected the entire planet because if not, the ennead wouldn't imprison Khonshu as punishment.

I think Konshu only manipulated the sky, and not time itself. Similar to a projection. If he were Cher and turned back time, wouldn't people, vehicles, etc, disappear?
I agree, may have manipulated placement of the earth but not time itself, which begs the question does slowing down cause issues with our gravity like a car hitting a pole at 50 MPH
@@MonsterMashupMusic The rotation of the Earth has no direct affect on gravity, but it would increase the centripetal acceleration of masses and most likely counter act the gravitational force.
Robert Morissette not necessarily konshu is a God of time as well as the God of the moon and vengeance in the comics so they could easily say since he's a omnipotent being he can control specific things like the moon and stars simply because he's a litteral God in the mcu or yall could be right too idk much about moon knight and konshu other than the somewhat deep dive into the comics to understand what the mcu's version could use from them but konshu is definitely a time God too he's not just a moon God or a God of vengeance most of the Egyptian gods in the comics have control/dominion over multiple things sometimes 3 or more just depends on what the specific writer's need them to do
I figured they were implying Konshu could use his abilities change the appearance of the sky to help them use the star map to find the tomb. I think if they were trying imply time travel they would’ve done it differently visually
Also, if they did go back then when it was slowly going back why didn’t it become day. Only the night was shown so I also don’t think they went back in time.
Moving the position of the sky doesn’t equate to reversing time. It’s moving the position of a planet in relation to the rest of the night sky. That’s not the same as moving in time.
They did not time travel or turn back time, khonshu just altered the sky to visually represent what he saw 2,000 years ago. Same thing like when he altered the sky to send a message to the gods.
They did not go back in time. Khonshu is the god of the Moon. He says that he remembers the position of the moon and stars every night. He probably is the equivalent of the a web crawler for the night sky. He then just scrolled through the night sky archive visually so Marc and everyone else could see it. Marc needed to see the constellations thousands of years ago to make sense of the map.
IM confused about the swiping to the left of the stars Does this mean everything after that never happened ? It seem every Marvel story time and events are constantly are being shift around. Can you or anyone unmuddle my confusion. PLZ and thank you.
Yea I think it’s far fetched that the entire MCU got turned 2,000 years earlier resulting in previous characters coming to life and major events reverting back and etc. I think it was more so that Kanshu just made the sky look like what it did for plot and not literal.
He didn’t turn back time. He just rearranged the constellations. I do have a question: How is it that Harrow has so much pull with these gods? They literally took his word over everyone else’s. Why is that? Is he something greater than we’ve been shown so far?
It's not really that Harrow has much pull on the gods, it's a combination of multiple factors: The gods despise Konshu so are more likely to side against him, Harrow might also be working with Hator as mentionned & Harrow hasn't really done anything for now so he's seen as a victim of Konshu
In order for the stars to go back to previous positions, they have to go backwards in time. From earth we are seeing light from stars millions of years later.
Being he was controlled by the 'shamed god' prior, itz not 2 difficult2c y they sided w him, n then plus he points out the DID, which is obv a big deal 4 the gods and their avatars
@@magicTapia99 And Harrow knows Khonshu well enough to push his buttons and make him angry, thus discrediting the accusations against him even more. Because that's what Khonshu brings to the proceedings: accusations without proof. Which is why Khonshu's earlier comment that his accusations must be "indisputable" are all the more hilarious, because he brings nothing of substance.
Im gonna go ahead and say that “turning back time” is a reach. I think all his did was arrange the stars to appear as they did the night the map was originally made out. Since he does in fact have access to the moons gravity, this would be possible- time travel however- no ThAts not it.
I just couldn’t understand the council of the gods, with all of their resources, just taking Arthur Harrow’s word that he’s not summoning Ammit. They could’ve literally checked his forearm or even all of the followers he has. Harrow also had a digging site he abandoned to meet with the gods that they could have looked into. Despite that, it was still a cool episode.
Which suggests that maybe some of the gods are on Harrow's side. Remember one of the gods said "They abandoned us", so I think these gods have a little grudge on humanity, that's why they're doing themselves a favor by letting Harrow resurrect Ammit because they know Ammit will kill a lot of people
It could also suggest that the gods just REALLY don't trust Khonshu and have such a low opinion of him that they don't even want to investigate these claims.
It seems the only one who can forcefully take over the body is "Jake". If you think about it, Marc and Steven are constantly arguing with each other about gaining control, seemingly being trapped helplessly if one or the other doesn't allow it. But whenever he blacks out, he comes to in the aftermath of extreme violence. I think that was Jake in the first ep that was taking the soldiers out and the one who set the date.
I don't think he was the one that killed those people in ep 1 because I'm pretty sure he has no idea what's going on with the scarab so he'd have no reason to brutally murder people just to get it. that was marc. but the date, yeah I agree.
I don't really get why you're thinking they went back in time. That's not the impression I got at all. It was Khonshu manipulating the stars via an illusion to provide an image of what the sky looked like at that time. Then again, if we find out next episode that it was a time travel thing, I will gladly eat my words lol. I'm just not seeing that here.
In that scene with the manipulation of the stars/sky, when it shows people looking up to the sky, it shows them unphased by “time manipulation ”. They are in awe of the spectacle. To me that is a que that it’s not a reversal of time.
They said that “many before him” were trapped like Khonsu. Then they showed a lot of small statues in the credits. Do you think those are all trapped gods?
The sky thing was probably a temp thing. It looked like Steven was holding it back like holding a ball underwater. The further down you push it, the more it pushes back
Khonshu has the ability to manipulate magic so I'm assuming it's just one big illusion. I'd imagine projecting an illusion across the whole sky is a big feat and is probably what Steven was having a hard time controlling.
I completely agree that Jake is appearing subtle throughout this series. We’ll see more hints of him in the next episode before he’s exposed in episode 5 or 6. I think Jake might be involved with Layla’s father’s murder. He’s always the one Marc goes to when he does more evil things.
Yes. And also, when Marc Spector suddenly wakes up stabbing someone, you can see a broken taxi in the background. This could be a big clue, considering that Jake Lockley is a taxi driver.
Considering that the egyptian mythology has over 2000 different deities, it's not surprising that many have been imprisioned through time. I wouldn't be surprised if other gods from the Ennead are imprisoned as well
Steve saying” Marc take the body, take the body, take the body” killed me😂 I love seeing these two get on a little more when it comes to the mission at hand
I big thing Ive noticed a lot of people missed is the change in the end credits; not only are doorways opening up to a white light but it looks like a mental hospital. I wonder if that will be how Marc almost gets trapped in the overvoid or whatever that realm is, he'll think he's in a hospital but its just how his mind will see it.
I saw the sky changing analogous to flipping through photos on a screen to get to a photo OR another analogy: khonshu projected/casted his memory of the nights to the sky as he flipped through his memory.
The light we see from stars doesn't indicate their current positions out there in the universe. We can only see the delayed after images of their light due to them being lightyears away from Earth. It stands to reason that what Konshu did was manipulate the light created by the stars until they reflected their positions from that point in the past. If the moon god can manipulate moonlight, light reflected off a celestial body from a star, it stands to reason that Konshu can manipulate starlight but not the stars themselves.
I believe the sky went back to normal after trapping Khonshu, since Steven was having to hold it in place which would imply that letting go would return It back to the current age! Also It most likely didnt go back in time but It was just an optical trick. Love your theories but with this one you might have gotten a but too excited about.
In this episode, it looked like Mark was surprised by the killing of the 3rd Alter, just like Steven was surprised in the 1st Episode. So do you think it was the 3rd Alter who took over for Steven in the 1st Episode, killing the people to protect the Scarab, and not Mark?
He didn't turn back time, he just turned back the stars. And you can tell it was very temporary because they were fighting to hold it so they could get the coordinates.
Nah, it was either a projection or somehow he could simulate the rotation of the Earth over 2000 years. However increasing the rotation of the Earth that quickly would definitely have an affect on the centripetal force of objects so that's why I'm leaning towards a projection.
While I can see the “moving space back in time” thing, I don’t think he’s actually brought back anything in time aside from the position of the stars close to proximity of the moon and the moon it self but aside from that I think it’s just stars moving positions as a plot device
Yeah, my impression was just that because Konshu remembered that night he was able to move the stars to where they were. And as others have pointed out, Steven had to struggle to hold it there while Layla got the location implying that when he let go, things reverted back to the way they were
I highly doubt they went back in time, khonshu just manipulated the sky to look like it did 2k years ago, just like he manipulated the moon to cast an eclipse
I don't think Khonshu affected the world that much. Just last episode, Harrow said that Khonshu had very little power in the world and all he could do was create a little wind. If Khonshu really had the power to move the moon or turn back time, why would he need an avatar to do his dirty work? He probably only created some illusions.
"There is choas in you" Thinking the world/universe went back in time 2000 years is a HUGE reach. It almost feels like it was put in the video just to get interaction, since people (like myself) are going to want to point it out. He basically rewound the positioning of the stars to where they were at that time, but not time itself. Also, why do you think it was Steven that got the body into the cab after the head bonks? I mean, it's a cab. Probably Jake, especially considering the connection.
I think the whole “Konshu turns back the sky 2000 years” thing was not a permanent fixture, it wasn’t time travel, I think it was more akin to an illusion. That’s not our real sky, if it was I don’t know if gravity would be strong enough to keep us all feeling normal on the surface of the planet. If it was spinning that rapidly, we’d all be crushed like soda cans, but every civilian witnessing that event looked completely fine, just confused. So no villains are “back”, it was just Konshu pulling up an illusion of the sky separate from the real sky. Besides, as you said in this episode, Hathor is the sky goddess, I don’t think any of the Ennead would have been able to let that happen if it weren’t some sort of illusion.
Like many others here, I heavily doubt Khonshu turned back time. Steven had said that he struggled to hold it, so it's an incredibly draining illusion much like the eclipse to summon the Egyptian gods. What I'm more concerned about is what's to happen to Marc/Steven now that Khonshu is turned to stone. Would the moon knight armor not be able to be summoned? Or can it be, just at half or below full power? Because we also know that Khonshu had told Steven to tell Marc to let go of him, hinting that our moon god knew this would get him into serious trouble and keep him away from possibly his favorite avatar
No, Khonshu and in turn, Moon Knight only have the powers to manipulate celestial bodies ... not time. He LITERALLY rewound the STARS to that configuration ... he did not make the PLANET go back in time.
@@wolflower666 because it is visual not physical. Yes time was shown to pass as the sky went "back in time" but think of it like going through memories of Konshu and when he saw that sky.
Yes, and the constellations were based not on just the large stars but the wash of small ones. So we can't actually see them with such clarity as they should be.
I always thought it was Jake who takes over during the knife fight and tries to get them out of Egypt, mostly cause I don't know if Steven could handle himself against those three, and also they plead with Marc to leave them alone as if they were frightened, and Steven's too nice to be scary. If that's true it could hint at Jake's personality at being super violent and wanting to leave Egypt.
My thought exactly! Also the cab driver asked him why he was acting like a foreigner when Marc took the body back. I don’t think Steven could can speak Arabic (I think) so I also think that it was Jake and he’s possibly Egyptian.
@@hanayah2315 no it's the other way around , the cab driver asked Marc , if he can speak Arabic why did he act like a foreigner when he asked to go to the airport , Marc knows Arabic , Jake doesn't.
@@hanayah2315 you kinda switched it. Steven took over the body and got in the cab but he couldn't speak Arabic. Marc then takes back control and he speaks Arabic and the driver asks why he was acting like a foreigner
I think no matter how the stars were moved in the episode, they went back after Konshu was stoned. This being why Steven had to struggle with the stars while they were triangulating them after the right night was found. He was trying to hold the image in place.
They didn't go back in time, they just changed the sky. That's why Harrow and all those civilians could see it, and why the other gods imprisoned Khonshu because he "knows what they'd do if he changed the sky again"
Exactly. If he was changing time then his comment about remembering that night wouldn’t mean anything, cause memory has nothing to do with time travel. I think he basically projected upon the sky what it looked like back then.
The problem with "he was just projecting the sky" is that there's no reason to let everyone else see it. There's no reason why they'd see it rewinding. Khonshu could just project the image of the one night, just for them, as a still. But we see the current sky move. Roll back. If it's a projection, none of that is necessary.
@@ducky158 maybe he was scrolling through his memories. He did say he remembers every night, so it might take a lot of energy to go back to a specific night. That’s why he had to go through each one.
there is this one moment that i thought is peculiar, when the ennead threatens Khonshu of turning him into stone they had this line of "like the ones before you", and in the credits they put a shot of shabtis or the little statues of other gods just like what they turned Khonshu into in this episode. Some of the gods that I saw were Heqet(frog head), Wadjet(snake head), Khum(ram head), and Khepri(scarab head)
Steven says he can't hold it much longer while Layla attempts to triangulate the location. So, it is my assumption that the re-wind is dependent upon him and Khonsu holding there and it sort of "springs back" to current time/reality as soon as they let go.
Hot take: So you know how in fight club, Narrator is the embodiment of Jack’s tameness and Tyler durden is the embodiment of Jack’s aggression? That’s what I think this is. Marc is the original. Steven is the embodiment of Marc’s tameness. Identity #3 (aka Jake the Ripper) is likely some form of serial killer, the embodiment of Marc’s bravery with essentially none of his tameness.
That sky spinning scene when Steven & Khonshu did that whole thing and trying to find those constellations were truly fascinating and just incredible, + that Madripoor callback was really awesome, and great timing as well
Could be a bit far fetched but with the shows end date being close to the release of Thor love and thunder and with the advent of Gorr the god butcher this could also mean that these gods are afraid of being found out and killed and hence see imprisoning Khonshu as a good strategy at the moment.
He didn’t turn back time. If he did we would have seen the entire landscape change. He merely temporarily changed the sky - which is the only thing he would have the power to do anyway. He has no power to turn back time.
He didn’t turn back time, he rearranged the position of the stars so they matched the position of the stars 2,000 years ago. They probably went back to normal after Khonshu disappeared, cause his power was the only thing holding them in place.
If he Khonshu had the power to move the moon to create an eclipse and then later move the entire planet back in time to look at a few stars, he wouldn't need Marc as his avatar as he'd be the more powerful force in the Universe. With Harrow out in the desert with nothing but his cult with him, he could just drop a meteor on him and kill him instantly, no problem. Therefore, it makes sense that both moving the moon and the stars was just an illusion.
I don't think an illusions since everyone seen it if it was to be then I doubt he would of been banished and why did this one power was seen by everyone instead just him and his avatar
Konshu didn't rewind time, as everyone is saying. Konshu caused a total eclipse earlier in the episode, but I don't think anyone thought he moved planets to cause that. It was just a sign. That was a set up for Konshu moving the stars. Not literally, just visually.
if it was to be visually then why everyone can see it ? this question makes me believe that he changed the position of star with the earth at the center of the universe.
So you're saying that if it was just for Konshu to help Steven and his friend, then only Konshu and the other 2 should have been able to see it. I'm not sure, but it'll either be explained, or not mentioned again.
I think people are taking all of this too literally. In terms of ancient mythology, the sky and the stars were like a bubble around the Earth (like the domed roof of a planetarium), not a series of protective layers of gasses with light from celestial bodies shining through. So, Khonshu turned back the night sky (almost like a rolodex or a series of slides), not literally reversing the movement of stars and planets, some of which likely don't exist anymore.
1. Konshu just moved stars to the way they where 2000 years ago, just like in the planetarium. 2. Steve struggle to keep sky like it is now, so after Konshu was seal into stone, sky goes back to original state.
I'm assuming the "time travel" wasn't actually time travel, just a massive illusion projected by Khonshu, and that everything reverted after he was imprisoned. After all, Steven was obviously struggling to keep everything in place long enough for Layla to get the coordinates. You guys have a bad habit of jumping to massive conclusions based solely on what you think would be the coolest.
When moon knight jumps off of the pyramid to attack the enemies, his cape/cowl has moon like texture underneath like he’s both a mummy and the moon. Crazy!
Anyone else notice how Marc fighting the thugs was a lot less choreagraphed and more rough around the edges than other fights possibly symbolizing moon knights brutalness
True, but it makes sense, with the bodyguards it is more choegraphed, because they're supposed to learn different martial arts for their job On the other hand thugs learn to fight in the streets
Two possibilities as to how it ties to Thor Love and Thunder, and why they're waiting so long of the trailer drop: 1. Ammit being freed while the other Egyptian Gods do nothing, specially with Konshu moving the planet through time 2,000 years, could get the attention of Gorr the God Butcher. That could be the point at which he focuses on Earth and starts his hunt of Earth Gods. 2. Harrow, combined with Ammit, calls out to Gorr personally to help exact revenge on the other Egyptian Gods. They are the ones that leave humans to their own devices rather than help, which is the main gripe that Gorr has with the Gods. Either way, I'm pretty sure that we'll see either Moon Knight, Shadow Knight, or the Egyptian Gods in the trailer, as they're likely to be a main focus, and that's why they're doing a promo tour without a trailer drop yet.
I hope the final episode dives back into the philosophy of justice Harrow introduced in episode 2. The gods are right that Khonshu’s attempt to foil Arthur appear hypocritical; he wants to punish him for an evil deed he has yet to do, but if he succeeds, then countless innocent people will die before their time, which is not what Khonshu wants. That is why he is justified in his quest against Ammit’s revival.
Yatzil was wearing the same color as Harrow as well. So definitely will be interesting to see if the color does mean something. Also, I don’t think they went back in time. I just think Khonshu repositioned the stars to be in the position that they were 2000 years ago.
Khonshu could’ve made a time window to view the sky or he could’ve turned time back then set it back because he’s not just God of the Moon he’s God of the Night, Vengeance and of Time
I guess the thing that happened to mark that mad him lose control is actually his death . Konshu said he found him dead before he made him his avatar in ep 2
Oscar Isaac so good he got 3 roles in marvel universe. 1. Apocalypse (X-men apocalypse 2016) 2. Spiderman 2099 (Spiderman into the spider-verse 2018) 3. Steven Grant/Marc Specter/Jake Lockley (Moon knight 2022)
The entire planet didn't go back in time. No idea how you guys took that from it. It was a localized visual event, no one outside of Egypt experienced it. It's magic, it can do whatever.
I think that sky stuff was just Khonshu making some kind of illusion thing so Layla and Marc/Steven can see where Ammit’s tomb is. It’s a very good idea, I just don’t think that’s what’s happening
I like how in the episode, they reference that many gods before Konshu were turned to stone, and that you can see all the statutes of what are probably all of the gods turned to stone when they summon Harrow to the temple.
During the knife fight, Marc Spector holds one fist up to his face in a classic boxing move (protecting the face) as Marc is a former boxer. That little detail was very cool.
Just something that popped in my mind. Ep 1: We meet Steven, and only view things from 1 perspective, Steven's. Ep 2: We meet Marc, and now view things from 2 perspectives, Steven and Marc. Ep 3: Hinted at a 3rd alter, most likely Jake Lockley as neither Steven nor Marc killed those men with knives. So in Episode 1, we get 1 alter. In episode 2, we get 2 alters. And now in episode 3, a 3rd alter is hinted at. I say episode 4, we'll see 3 alters. Of course, I don't expect any more "coincidences" between episode numbers and the number of alters from here on out though.
Or, Ep 1 was Steven learning about Marc, Ep 2 was Marc taking control, Ep 3 was Marc learning about Jake, so maybe Ep 4 is Marc/Steven/Jake vying for control, Ep 5 will be from Jake's perspective, and Ep 6 will be a healthy balance of the 3 alters.
At the end of ep 2 i war thinking maybe we get 2 eps of each focusing mainly on one with the others getting a bit of screen time and at the end we see them working as one.

I agree, may have manipulated placement of the earth but not time itself, which begs the question does slowing down cause issues with our gravity like a car hitting a pole at 50 MPH
@@MonsterMashupMusic The rotation of the Earth has no direct affect on gravity, but it would increase the centripetal acceleration of masses and most likely counter act the gravitational force.
maybe the earth was in place and all the stars moved around it. this way there would be no effect on earth but everything else is just younger.
Robert Morissette not necessarily konshu is a God of time as well as the God of the moon and vengeance in the comics so they could easily say since he's a omnipotent being he can control specific things like the moon and stars simply because he's a litteral God in the mcu or yall could be right too idk much about moon knight and konshu other than the somewhat deep dive into the comics to understand what the mcu's version could use from them but konshu is definitely a time God too he's not just a moon God or a God of vengeance most of the Egyptian gods in the comics have control/dominion over multiple things sometimes 3 or more just depends on what the specific writer's need them to do
I don’t think they went back in time but just changed the sky who knows tho
I also don't think it was permanent, since Steven said he couldn't do it much longer.
Definitely didn't turn back time it was just the sky.
Nah they didn't went back in time. Only brought the sky from old Days
Same thing like when he altered the sky to send a message to the gods.
true and it's not permanent too because Steven said say something along the line of "i can't hold it anymore" something like that
Yes very true, if the earth was turned back in time then the land and people would be gone
Exactly what I thought too
Yes, very well said. This is exactly what I thought while watching na episode
yeah
They did not go back in time. Khonshu is the god of the Moon. He says that he remembers the position of the moon and stars every night. He probably is the equivalent of the a web crawler for the night sky. He then just scrolled through the night sky archive visually so Marc and everyone else could see it. Marc needed to see the constellations thousands of years ago to make sense of the map.
He could have just been like, “oh wait what constellation do you need to see?” “Oh yeah that constellation was right over there” lol

Yep it should be because it would be a overkill for just the god of moon 🌝
Yea I think it’s far fetched that the entire MCU got turned 2,000 years earlier resulting in previous characters coming to life and major events reverting back and etc. I think it was more so that Kanshu just made the sky look like what it did for plot and not literal.
Quick note: Abdallah actually means "servant of God" and not "flower of God".

Oh yeah that’s right, thanks for bringing awareness
It’s even Follower in english, hence the confusion I guess
Follower of the God actually
Interesting 🤔🤔
He didn’t turn back time. He just rearranged the constellations.
I do have a question:
How is it that Harrow has so much pull with these gods? They literally took his word over everyone else’s. Why is that? Is he something greater than we’ve been shown so far?
It's not really that Harrow has much pull on the gods, it's a combination of multiple factors: The gods despise Konshu so are more likely to side against him, Harrow might also be working with Hator as mentionned & Harrow hasn't really done anything for now so he's seen as a victim of Konshu
"He didn’t turn back time. He just rearranged the constellations. "
As if the second isn't way more difficult than the first.
Remember one of the gods said "They abandoned us", so I think these gods have a little grudge on humanity, that's why they're doing themselves a favor by letting Harrow resurrect Ammit because they know Ammit will kill a lot of people
@@HSTLMLWL wow didnt even think of that
@@HSTLMLWL true
Yeah, this was my one gripe with this week's episode. Seemed a little sus.
Yeah i think thats right
It's jake doing the killing.Because marc is innocent on killings. When he acts in episode there's obviously a 3rd personality
when did marc get 2 other guys in his head? was he born mentally ill
But the date person called him Marc… so doesn’t that mean it would have to be Marc who asked out the date? Not sure
I don't think he was the one that killed those people in ep 1 because I'm pretty sure he has no idea what's going on with the scarab so he'd have no reason to brutally murder people just to get it. that was marc. but the date, yeah I agree.
If each personality has a specific suit, I’m really looking forward to seeing what Jake’s suit would look like!
There is a version of it in comics. It’s basically marks suit but he has the hood down and the mask up to his nose like Batman’s cowl
Yeah they definitely didn't go back in time, I'm pretty sure he just realigned the stars to match that night 2000 years ago.
In that scene with the manipulation of the stars/sky, when it shows people looking up to the sky, it shows them unphased by “time manipulation ”. They are in awe of the spectacle. To me that is a que that it’s not a reversal of time.
yeah.. something that big of an event wouldn’t be in a limited series like moon knight
I love when steven takes over at the end Layla is more drawn to him then Marc. It reminds me of Marlene and steven in the comics.
Me noticed the same! Love it!!!
I feel like it’s going to create a love triangle
The way Steven looked at Layla when he was taping up the sky cloth was adorable.
Absolutely agreed!!!
They said that “many before him” were trapped like Khonsu. Then they showed a lot of small statues in the credits. Do you think those are all trapped gods?
Duh
The sky thing was probably a temp thing. It looked like Steven was holding it back like holding a ball underwater. The further down you push it, the more it pushes back
Khonshu has the ability to manipulate magic so I'm assuming it's just one big illusion. I'd imagine projecting an illusion across the whole sky is a big feat and is probably what Steven was having a hard time controlling.
I thought the same thing, specially because of the way his hands moved, it was almost like he was pulling the skies
Great analogy!
You see them struggling to keep it in place, and Khonshu says that he can't hold it much longer, so yeah
I completely agree that Jake is appearing subtle throughout this series. We’ll see more hints of him in the next episode before he’s exposed in episode 5 or 6. I think Jake might be involved with Layla’s father’s murder. He’s always the one Marc goes to when he does more evil things.
There's a big clue in the credits. A profile image of Marc appears with THREE separating faces.
Yes. And also, when Marc Spector suddenly wakes up stabbing someone, you can see a broken taxi in the background. This could be a big clue, considering that Jake Lockley is a taxi driver.
How many personalities does Marc have?
Fun fact. When Jake takes over the body, you can see Stevens eyes roll in the swords reflection, showing it’s not Steven or marc
In the end credits you see a glimpse of dozens of prisoned gods just like Khonshu. Crazy how many there has been
I wonder if/when they break out or free Khonsu, if other gods will break out as well. Could make for some interesting future chaos!
@@stevenhayes7910 I feel like the other members of the Ennead are imprisoned there too, that's why there are only half of the council there.,
Considering that the egyptian mythology has over 2000 different deities, it's not surprising that many have been imprisioned through time. I wouldn't be surprised if other gods from the Ennead are imprisoned as well

I legit rewinded to that scene twice🤣
I big thing Ive noticed a lot of people missed is the change in the end credits; not only are doorways opening up to a white light but it looks like a mental hospital. I wonder if that will be how Marc almost gets trapped in the overvoid or whatever that realm is, he'll think he's in a hospital but its just how his mind will see it.
I saw the sky changing analogous to flipping through photos on a screen to get to a photo OR another analogy: khonshu projected/casted his memory of the nights to the sky as he flipped through his memory.
You know what that actually kund of makes sense as he says he remembers every night
it kinda looked like a timelapse video imo except he did it backwards
The light we see from stars doesn't indicate their current positions out there in the universe. We can only see the delayed after images of their light due to them being lightyears away from Earth. It stands to reason that what Konshu did was manipulate the light created by the stars until they reflected their positions from that point in the past. If the moon god can manipulate moonlight, light reflected off a celestial body from a star, it stands to reason that Konshu can manipulate starlight but not the stars themselves.
This is my favorite explanation.

I believe the sky went back to normal after trapping Khonshu, since Steven was having to hold it in place which would imply that letting go would return It back to the current age! Also It most likely didnt go back in time but It was just an optical trick. Love your theories but with this one you might have gotten a but too excited about.

Agreed.

Agreed. Steven and Konshu couldn’t hold the reversal for long.
He did not turn back time- he doesn’t have that kind of power…. He just re-shaped the alignment of the stars to what they used to be 2,000 years ago
That take way more power.

oh shit you’re right
Very interesting 🤔
He didn't turn back time, he just turned back the stars. And you can tell it was very temporary because they were fighting to hold it so they could get the coordinates.
nice catch
And as others have pointed out, Steven had to struggle to hold it there while Layla got the location implying that when he let go, things reverted back to the way they were
Moonknight is only 3 eps in but the level of intensity is getting higher each time.

I highly doubt they went back in time, khonshu just manipulated the sky to look like it did 2k years ago, just like he manipulated the moon to cast an eclipse
This
I don't think Khonshu affected the world that much. Just last episode, Harrow said that Khonshu had very little power in the world and all he could do was create a little wind. If Khonshu really had the power to move the moon or turn back time, why would he need an avatar to do his dirty work? He probably only created some illusions.
I personally don’t think he made the sky go back in time I think he just manipulated the night sky to be in the same position it was 2000 years ago
That's how I read it too
I think that too!
"There is choas in you"
Thinking the world/universe went back in time 2000 years is a HUGE reach.
But would Jake want to leave egypt? If he's the one who's been doing all the killing it seems unlikely he would run away from the big showdown
He actually told Steven “Tell Marc to free me when they imprison me” so it was more of a sacrificial play with hopes of a reunion
No, Khonshu and in turn, Moon Knight only have the powers to manipulate celestial bodies ... not time.
He LITERALLY rewound the STARS to that configuration ... he did not make the PLANET go back in time.
yeah thats basically the same thing i got out of it. also i dont think it was planet wide, just the the stars above egypt.
but what does “rewound the stars” even mean, if not connected to time? how did he bring dead stars back into creation?
@@wolflower666 because it is visual not physical. Yes time was shown to pass as the sky went "back in time" but think of it like going through memories of Konshu and when he saw that sky.

Yes, and the constellations were based not on just the large stars but the wash of small ones. So we can't actually see them with such clarity as they should be.
at first I thought that arthur harrow looked like kevin bacon because he reminded me of kevin bacon's character in x-men first class

"Konshu was stoned" that sounds funny lol.
I loved the detail of Arthur not carrying Amit's staff when he was called to the temple!
The movement Khonshu/Steven turning back the stars is similar to the movements used to open portals by Dr. Strange. Just something cool
Whether it is reversing time or rearranging stars it is a statement on how powerful konshu is
watching marc and steven work out that there’s a third identity who’s even more brutal than both of them is so fun and intriguing
there is this one moment that i thought is peculiar, when the ennead threatens Khonshu of turning him into stone they had this line of "like the ones before you", and in the credits they put a shot of shabtis or the little statues of other gods just like what they turned Khonshu into in this episode. Some of the gods that I saw were Heqet(frog head), Wadjet(snake head), Khum(ram head), and Khepri(scarab head)
Wow, this was really interesting.
Steven says he can't hold it much longer while Layla attempts to triangulate the location. So, it is my assumption that the re-wind is dependent upon him and Khonsu holding there and it sort of "springs back" to current time/reality as soon as they let go.
Hot take:
So you know how in fight club, Narrator is the embodiment of Jack’s tameness and Tyler durden is the embodiment of Jack’s aggression?
That’s what I think this is. Marc is the original. Steven is the embodiment of Marc’s tameness. Identity #3 (aka Jake the Ripper) is likely some form of serial killer, the embodiment of Marc’s bravery with essentially none of his tameness.
Yup, Jake is the id, Marc the ego, and Steven the super ego
Marc in the middle, Stephen is the Angel on one shoulder, and Jake is the Devil on the other.
What makes you think Jake is a serial killer? He woke up and was being attacked probably, self defense and all that.
That’s not how DID works. I get where you’re coming from but that would be a weird way to represent a real disorder with a lot of stigma.

Could be a bit far fetched but with the shows end date being close to the release of Thor love and thunder and with the advent of Gorr the god butcher this could also mean that these gods are afraid of being found out and killed and hence see imprisoning Khonshu as a good strategy at the moment.

I was searching for this comment
He didn’t turn back time, he rearranged the position of the stars so they matched the position of the stars 2,000 years ago. They probably went back to normal after Khonshu disappeared, cause his power was the only thing holding them in place.
As would any possible reason once removed but in those seconds it could of refilled alot to different people or others with powers in the mcu
Not literally, just visually.
more like as anyone isn't saying just look at the comments
if it was to be visually then why everyone can see it ? this question makes me believe that he changed the position of star with the earth at the center of the universe.
They didn’t turn back time… they just turned back the sky.
1. Konshu just moved stars to the way they where 2000 years ago, just like in the planetarium.
2. Steve struggle to keep sky like it is now, so after Konshu was seal into stone, sky goes back to original state.
Btw I’m pretty sure that Khonshu was just making an illusing with the sky not actually turning back time
Yup
Because he’s the god of the moon so he only has the ability to alter moon related things not time so I think he was just altering the skies appearance
Yup pretty much self explanatory
Yeah, if he was turning back time, then he wouldn’t have had to say that he remembered that night.
Crazy!

@@ColorMeConfused29 True.

Two possibilities as to how it ties to Thor Love and Thunder, and why they're waiting so long of the trailer drop:
This episode was great. This series has been one of the best at continuously giving us amazing episodes. Can't wait to see what happens next.

He said "he remembers that night", which means that he turned back the stars to their position at that night as just a memory or illusion.
The entire planet didn't go back in time. No idea how you guys took that from it. It was a localized visual event, no one outside of Egypt experienced it. It's magic, it can do whatever.
2:25 Abdallah doesn’t mean flower of God it means servant of God
I think that sky stuff was just Khonshu making some kind of illusion thing so Layla and Marc/Steven can see where Ammit’s tomb is. It’s a very good idea, I just don’t think that’s what’s happening
NR: “Omg! They made the planet go back in time!1!”
Everyone else: “umm no they didn’t…”
Dude, Im pretty sure
Konshu just made the sky LOOK like how it did 2000 years ago. Not ACTUALLY turning back time.
This episode was wild
They hinted at three alters in the beginning…it was in the mirror and the drinking scene…the date etc…
The court of nerds and geeks has assembled, and he all agreed that time was not rewinded, because it's obvious that it wasn't....
This session is terminated
Khonshu didn't turn back time he just brung the stars back
