Thanks for a wonderful 16th Birthday Bash. I will miss you so much. Prayers that you impact African lives with yours and Ron’s presence. Carol Vaughn
Every video you put out, I want to try. If it weren't for your great lessons, I wouldn't have picked up quilting as easy as I have. I love the videos, your products, your staff, and especially you and that great smile! Thanks again Jenny. :)
This is great i'm starting a Queen size in Kansas Trouble it looks great so far...love everthing you do keep them coming...you inspired me to quilt i have made many items so far because of you and your daughters...thank you
I've been looking for over two weeks for a cute, simple baby quilt. Then I found this tutorial ~ perfect! Jenny, I always come back to your patterns/tutorials. You make quilt making fun and simple. I just love your tutorials. One day I hope to visit you and your shop.
Your tutorial's make me HAPPY!!! thank you I havent had time to take a class for a long time soyou have really inspired me and i have made 3 quilts this week!
I have started a wedding quilt like this. I hope to get working on it again soon. Im rearranging my house to nake a sewing corner. My new (built in 1914) home is so small.
I love this pattern. There are a lot of different ways to set it together. I did the most beautiful jewel toned with a black corner. I set it together with X's, O's, and the slanted star in the center. Thanks for the demo. YOU ARE AWESOME!
just finished X&O's for a friend 1/2 sq triangles left used for coworkers to sign-will make into a sq for the back of the quilt-gift for coworker going to Stanford!!!thank you You are my Hero!!NormaJean
Jenny thank youuuu. I hope you and your family are having a cozy, loving Christmas holiday! It is a little past 6 am on Christmas morning... When i stop and listen i always think i can hear children squealing with joy on Christmas morning!
Hi there! I am new to quilting and am already in love with the craft. :) I just love your tutorial videos. They make quilt blocks look fun and not so intimidating! THANK YOU!!
Jenny, I love this!! And, it's going to be a gift for my sister! She lives in Florida, and since I'm in Virginia I don't often get to give her kisses & hugs, so this quilt will be a perfect snuggle quilt for when she feels like she needs extra kisses and hugs! Thank you for another AMAZING tutorial!!
I have learned more from this than the three classes I took at a quilting presentation I attended. Thank you I love the jelly rolls ideas and the x's and o's simplified by your tutorial.
I watched this and have my charm pack all picked out. I quick run to the nearby quilt store for a solid charm pack & I'll be set to go! I've nevee done an XO quilt, but you've made it look so easy!
Haven't done much quilting as yet, and just found your Jelly roll clip, definitely will try this when I have completed my patchwork bag which I recently started. Hope to watch more of your clips, when I have the time. Thank you.
thanks for this great vid, now I know exactly what the Bold and Beautiful charm pack AND some of the moda solids (whites) jelly roll will make into: a lovely x's and o's lap quilt for spring/summer! will post pics on the forums.
Ok I did this one in Jack smelling ton for my granddaughter I tried to post to your group I joined and it went on FB I thought it was a private group and would not go on FB social media as its a gift so deleted it Just love all you do for all of us in making life of sewing so much easier.
Love this x's and o's quilt. I'm planning a blue and white one, so I loved seeing the completed one at the beginning. Thank you!! Can't wait to start it! :o)
I can't wait to make this Jenny!! Someday I will make a F.A.R.T. to come and see you!!! oh, a F.A.R.T. in case you don't already know is ... Fabric Acquisition Road Trip!!!
I sew again leaving 1/4 in between two stitching lines and then cut through the center of both the stitching lines to get a ready HST for another project.
Jenny I love your tutorials! I have been agonizing over what quilt to make for my almost 2 year old daughter. She is in her big girl bed now. :-) Her room is flowers and cupcakes (I know it sounds strange) but Moda just came out with "Cherry on Top" and it's so perfect! I ordered 1 jelly roll and 1 charm pack but I can't decide which quilt to make!! Do you have any suggestions? I wanted it to look like lattice with plenty of contrasting white. Also going to applique a vine growing cupcakes!
It's so funny I came across this tutorial this morning. I am starting a quilt this afternoon with charm packs and wanted to use the x's and o's pattern. I couldn't remember the ratio for the two different squares. So easy!
Am thinking that I would like to do a quilt of this pattern. I already have ideas about it swimming around in my head. I was also thinking that using a solid jelly roll strip or moda strip might even save a little more time in the cutting department.
@FranciReed Hi Franci- I used 3 print charm packs and 1.5 solid charm packs. If I had it to do over I would use 4 print and 2 solid as you would have less waste.
I love this quilt! However, being a beginner/intermediate I would have to say this is a little more difficult than it looks because of all the bias you work with when you get the little squares sewn on . And if you dont press correctly your points wont match up and your blocks can get a little wonky. All that said I did no ripping at all, BUT, you need more than 42 squares in a charm pack to even make the smallest quilt. You should order two charm packs of what you like so you can have an even, square quilt! I was short 4 squares! A whole block! You can buy yardage or charms. So count carefully and use your bias for your advantage. Happy quilting!
+Annie Rutter There is no shortage. 6 rows by 7 columns = 42 6 x 4.5 = 27" wide [or long] by 7 x 4.5 = 31.5" wide or long. Add a border if additional size is desired.
I cut the 1/4" seam with my ruler on the opposite side if the white Sq so you can get an accurate size on every block. Plus, I press the seam away from the white, usually??
I love this! I need to find a charm pack to use for a baby quilt but I am Off to Quilt Town USA tomorrow so I am sure that I can find one (or a dozen) that will work 🥴
why not find two or three fat quarters of fabric you like and make you own charm pack... you may find that a lot cheaper. Love what Jenny puts out there but sometimes it is about selling than it is about the project
I was given a challenge at a quilting retreat. I received a stack of 5" squares and challenged to make a charity quilt. I made the X's and O's quilt. The quilt will be donated to a women's shelter. I thought the woman who receives the quilt could use some X's and O's.
hi my name is melissa from texas and i was watching your videos love your videos i was watching the one that you did on the breast cancer ribbon and i was watching this one and you know that i was putting this block togther and you can do the ribbon out of this block as well you had 4 on the bottom that makes the bottom ribbon and the two you had that makes the o just turn it around and theres your ribbon and i i thought i would let you know that it would make a good quilt wallhanging
I love this pattern. I am saving all of the doggie bandanas that the groomer puts on my two dogs ( 1 of them go each week) and am planning on making a memory quilt from them. Just looking around for the right pattern. I think this may just be it.
I was just doing something very similar to this what's snowballing two corners of a square and my practice blocks were coming up Shy and what I figured out is that when you make the fold to dog ear the corners you have to say a little more than a thread with towards the outside corner when you trim it off the edges of the dog ear the snowball will come out even with the sides of the charm pack Square
Hi Sarah, what is that beautiful flowery fabric in the finished quilt hanging up at the beginning of this tutorial called? It is so vibrant. Do you have it in stock?
How many charm packs did you use for the large one on the wall? I would love to make one for my newly married nephew and his wife for Christmas. FranciReed

You could also use a jelly roll as it is 2 1/2 then just cut a 2 1/2. for your solid.

Can you use layer cakes instead of charm packs? Thanks love to watch these tutorials..
Me, too!
This would be a good eye spy quilt also.

Do you still have the fabric like the one at the very beginning of the video? I want to make one!!!!
